Oregon's Evan Stewart Has 4-Word Message After Season-Ending Injury

Oregon's Evan Stewart Has 4-Word Message After Season-Ending Injury originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Oregon Ducks are coming off one of their best seasons in the history of their football program. They ran the table in the regular season, which was particularly impressive when you take into account that it was their first season in the Big Ten Conference. They were pitted against some of the best, including the Ohio State Buckeyes. Advertisement The Ducks thrillingly took that game and left that game with many around the country believing they were the best team in college football. They went on to defeat the Penn State Nittany Lions in the Big Ten Championship Game and were awarded the No. 1 overall seed in the College Football Playoff. Dillon Gabriel and Evan Stewart of the Oregon Ducks© Troy Wayrynen-Imagn Images Oregon's Evan Stewart has 4-word message after season-ending injury The Oregon Ducks' offense was one of the best in college football this past season with Dillon Gabriel at the helm. During his lone season at Oregon, Gabriel tied Case Keenum's record for career passing touchdowns with 155. However, the Ducks fell to the Buckeyes in a rematch in the Rose Bowl. Advertisement While Gabriel was impressive at the helm of the offense, he did a solid job of spreading the ball around, getting multiple players involved. No Ducks pass catcher finished with even 900 yards, but saw four players finish with 40-plus receptions. The Ducks will be without one of those key receivers after Evan Stewart recently suffered a torn patellar tendon. Following the injury, Stewart had a four-word message for Ducks fans. "Ouuu we gon brb," Stewart said on his Instagram story. The message could mean a multitude of things. He could be hinting at a comeback or using it as motivation that he'll come back strong next season. Advertisement Stewart transferred in from Texas A&M last offseason and tallied 48 catches, the second-most on the Ducks, for 613 yards and five touchdowns. The Ducks will surely miss his production this season as they seek to return to the College Football Playoff with UCLA transfer Dante Moore at quarterback. Using the next man up approach, five-star true freshman Dakorien Moore could be poised for a substantial workload right away. Browns reporter deals NFL Draft flop Shedeur Sanders another devastating blow amid 101mph reckless driving incident

Shedeur Sanders has been dealt another blow amid being caught by cops recklessly speeding on Tuesday. The quarterback, who fell to the fifth round of the NFL Draft before being selected by the Browns, was ticketed for allegedly driving 101mph in a 60mph zone, according to a citation viewed by the Daily Mail. And the quarterback has also received a setback on the football field, as one Browns insider believes he is currently fourth in the team's pecking order at the position. After watching the latest minicamp, Ashley Bastock said she felt 'no different' about the quarterback competition, with Kenny Pickett leading the way, rookie Dillon Gabriel behind him, Joe Flacco in third and Sanders behind the veteran. Pickett, a former first-round pick with the Eagles, has reportedly seen the majority of first-team reps, while Sanders is yet to take the field with the starters. However, the outlook on Sanders wasn't all bad as Bastock said he 'made the most of his reps' with reserve players and 'did what he needed to do' to potentially see first-team reps in this summer's training camp. Shedeur Sanders' pickup truck is pictured on the side of the road in this police footage During a minicamp practice on June 10, Sanders reportedly completed 10 of 12 passes and threw two touchdowns. Nonetheless, ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi previously reported that Sanders' roster spot isn't 'guaranteed' after the Browns were able to select him with the No. 144 pick. While he was at one point mooted to be an early first-round pick, Sanders reportedly rubbed teams the wrong way in meetings, while he also chose not to throw at the Combine. Ultimately, he signed a four-year, $4.6 million deal with Cleveland that included his $447,000 signing bonus – which represents the only guaranteed portion of the deal. By comparison, Titans' No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward - viewed as Sanders' rival through long periods of the draft process - signed a four-year, fully guaranteed $48.8million deal with Tennessee. It's not clear how much Sanders' ticket is for, though he can either chose to pay the fine or fight the ticket in court. Sanders and another driver identified as Jasmine Hammond were pulled over in the early hours of Tuesday morning in the Cleveland suburb of Strongsville, according to the citation. Hammond's relation to Sanders is unclear, but one officer is heard describing her in the footage as the former Colorado star's girlfriend. The citation lists Hammond's speed as 92mph, though an officer decided against ticketing Hammond, who is seen in footage of the traffic stop parked in her car behind Sanders' pickup truck in the clip. 'I'm gonna cut you a break,' the officer told Sanders. 'I'm not going to give her a ticket… but 101, I got a dash cam and stuff, man, like…' The first-year quarterback responded respectfully: 'I know.'

Browns rookie QB Shedeur Sanders cited for driving 101 mph

June 18 - Police cited Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders for driving 41 miles over the posted speed limit in the early hours Tuesday after the 23-year-old was clocked at 101 mph by the Strongsville Police Department in Ohio. Police records indicated that Sanders was stopped at 12:24 a.m. local time for exceeding the 60 mph limit in his black Dodge TRX truck in Strongsville, located about 20 miles southwest of Cleveland. As a result, he must either pay a $250 fine for the fourth-degree misdemeanor or dispute the ticket in court on July 3. A projected first-round pick in April's NFL draft after throwing for 4,134 yards (fourth in FBS) and 37 touchdowns (second) at Colorado, Sanders was selected by Cleveland in the fifth round after the Browns also drafted Oregon's Dillon Gabriel in the third. --Field Level Media

Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders was pulled over and issued a citation early Tuesday morning for allegedly driving over 100 mph. Browns Could Reportedly Make Surprising Quarterback Decision

Browns Could Reportedly Make Surprising Quarterback Decision originally appeared on The Spun. The Cleveland Browns enter the summer with a quarterback surplus. Their roster decision could extend beyond who starts. Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel, Kenny Pickett, and Shedeur Sanders are all fighting for positioning atop Cleveland's depth chart before the 2025 season. Teams typically carry two or three quarterbacks, so they're not all guaranteed Week 1 roster spots. Observers may assume the Browns will eventually trade or cut at least one of those signal-callers. However, a team reporter recently suggested otherwise. Mary Kay Cabot called it "likely" that the Browns will keep all four quarterbacks to start the season. Cabot noted that they'd take up a combined $7.6 million in cap space, an important caveat as they continue to pay the injured Deshaun Watson. "Thanks in part to low base salaries and cap numbers for all of them, they can afford to keep all four from a financial standpoint, and it also makes sense from a roster building-standpoint," Cabot wrote. Cabot said the more experienced Flacco and Pickett have an advantage in the QB1 competition ahead of Gabriel and Sanders. However, Cabot believes the Browns will "likely ignore any trade interest" in either rookie quarterback. If the Browns fall out of contention, Cabot said they'd "undoubtedly consider" moving a veteran and playing Gabriel or Sanders before the trade deadline. "Of course, if someone makes them an offer they can't refuse for one of the veterans on roster cutdown day Aug. 27, they'd probably at least listen providing they have a good starter and backup," Cabot wrote. "And if a team loses a QB before Nov. 4, the Browns might be willing to part with one of them, most likely a veteran, and probably most likely Flacco from a roster-building and QB development standpoint, if they're in good shape at QB1 and QB2." The Browns could find they need the roster spot elsewhere or feel confident enough in the situation to move someone. And despite these numerous options, Cabot said the Browns still have eyes on next year's quarterback draft Could Reportedly Make Surprising Quarterback Decision first appeared on The Spun on Jun 17, 2025 This story was originally reported by The Spun on Jun 17, 2025, where it first appeared.
