The Duchess of Sussex wrapped up the first season of her new Lemonada Media podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder With Meghan, last week, but on Tuesday, June 3, she released a bonus episode—and none other than Beyoncé's mother, Tina Knowles, opened up about her decades of experience as an entrepreneur. Speaking exclusively to Marie Claire, Meghan says, "Wrapping 'Confessions of a Female Founder' with Tina Knowles felt like the perfect end to a very special podcast; as I grow my own business, As ever, I spoke to women who had turned their own entrepreneurial dreams into reality." "Ms. Tina's conversation fulfills the promise of the podcast, offering extraordinary advice, and sharing insights about being a working mom, building something special, and remaining true to herself through every twist and turn," she continues. "This episode proves to be a powerful toolkit of truths that I will apply to my own life as I, too, grow my business, care for my family, and look forward to new adventures." Knowles, who opened Houston hair salon Headliners in 1990, told Meghan she "learned to be a boss" through her decades in the hair industry. 'I think that you start your business and then you find yourself," she said during the episode. "It gives you confidence that you didn't have before." When it comes to Cécred, her haircare line with Beyoncé, Knowles—who released her memoir, Matriarch, in April—said it was a longtime goal to create her own beauty products. 'It has been a dream of mine forever, and Beyoncé, it's been a dream of hers,' she told the duchess. In fact, Knowles revealed that Beyoncé "could actually be a hairstylist" since she grew up watching her at the salon. When Meghan asked what it was like working with her daughter, the number-one New York Times bestselling author said that she deferred to the "Single Ladies" singer on business decisions. "You know you have disagreements, and you have to—I'm the one to always cave," Knowles admitted. "If my kids are mad at me, I can't take it. I'll cave." She added that with Beyoncé, "If we have a disagreement, it's her business, so she gets the win." While discussing the behind-the-scenes stresses of launching a brand, the Duchess of Sussex shared what happened after her new lifestyle brand, As ever, sold out of its jam, tea, honey and baking mixes less than an hour after its debut. "For me at the moment with As ever, it we plan, we planned for a year, and then everything sells out in 45 minutes—which yes, amazing. Great news," the duchess said. "Then what do you do then?" Knowles interjected. Meghan said that she contemplated what her brand's next move should be while looking at it from a customer's perspective. "And then you say, 'Okay, we planned as best as we could. Are we going to replenish and sell out again in an hour? Or is that annoying as a customer?'" the duchess continued. Ultimately, Meghan said she decided to reassess rather than leave people disappointed. "I'm looking at it saying, 'Just pause. That happened. Let's wait until we are completely stable and we have everything we need.'" Knowles agreed based on her own experiences, with Meghan adding that the public can "see all the flashy stuff and they see the product. But that end game…I think you're right. Those behind the scenes moments, how many tears I've shed." The duchess pointed out that a "scarcity mentality at the beginning might be a hook for people," comparing it to "a sneaker drop." However, she said in terms of a long-term customer experience, it's not ideal. "I don't want you to eat that jam once every six months!" she said.

Meghan Markle makes huge announcement on work project as she's 'spread too thin'
The Duchess of Sussex has announced that her podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, will not be returning for a second season anytime soon. Meghan Markle has made a significant announcement about the future of her podcast, confessing that she's been "spread too thin" with her various ventures. The Duchess of Sussex candidly admitted this during a heart-to-heart conversation with Emma Grede on her Aspire podcast. Meghan disclosed that her own podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, won't be returning for a second series anytime soon, as she shifts her focus more towards her lifestyle brand As Ever. She initially inked the deal with Lemonada Media in 2024 for her podcast, which premiered in April, with 12 episodes broadcast within a few months. Meghan recognised "that there is so much excitement and desire for another season" of the podcast, but added, "I need to focus on my business. People seem to forget that very rarely do people see everything that's happening behind the scenes", reports the Mirror. The podcast was launched simultaneously as Meghan's lifestyle brand As Ever announced its first product release, which Meghan described as "was perfect synergy". She reflected on the hectic period in her life as she balanced her multiple businesses, stating: "As I knew I was in this building phase of my business, what an amazing opportunity to pull back the curtain and let people see what's happening at the start, when all the twists and turns are there." The Duchess of Sussex spoke about her experiences as a female founder and entrepreneur, saying: "For me to have the opportunity to talk to so many female founders who've been on that full trajectory-that are on the other side of success, but still at certain chapters in their career and their growth-but to be able to be really candid and vulnerable personally about my learns and stumbles along the way and then to take everyone's advice-and mine included." Meghan is also working on the second season of her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, which is due to air later this year. During a conversation with podcast host Emma Grede, Meghan joked: "At a certain point, the only thing I want spread thin is my jam." The news about the podcast's future comes after Meghan announced that her lifestyle brand, As Ever, will be launching new products. On the brand's Instagram page, she hinted at a new collection, saying that "delicious surprises" are in store for the second launch. Meghan wrote: "Oh yes, things await. We're bringing back your favorites, plus some delicious surprises you won't want to miss!" The new range will be available on June 20 at 8am PT (4pm UK time), and Meghan told her followers to "mark your calendars". Meghan accompanied the caption with a photo of a stack of pancakes smothered in sweet raspberries and a generous helping of honey, fuelling speculation that her sought-after honey, as well as her popular jams, may soon be back on sale. In a newsletter to fans, she expressed her gratitude, saying: "First off, a sincere thank you for making the debut of As ever absolutely extraordinary. We had a feeling there would be excitement, but to see everything sell out in less than an hour was an amazing surprise." She went on to reveal that on June 20th, they will be restocking the products that fans love, along with some new tasty surprises, adding that "so much love has gone into this".

‘What a failure': Meghan Markle announces podcast hiatus
'To Di For' podcast host Kinsey Schofield discusses Meghan Markle's podcast 'Confessions of a Female Founder' is going into a hiatus, allowing her to 'focus on her other projects'. 'I think this is her being dishonest,' Ms Schofield told Sky News host Rita Panahi. 'Confessions of a Female Founder was not an analytical success. 'Of course, she's going to put it on the back burner, because if she doesn't, we're going to constantly remind her what a failure it is, along with a lot of her other projects.'

Meghan Markle's viral twerking video a 'distasteful surprise', given her desires for respect and privacy
Meghan Markle gave us a fascinating example of her acting abilities a couple of weeks ago when she hosted the bonus episode of her 'Confessions of a Female Founder'. Her guest was Beyonce's mother Tina Knowles, a businesswoman who appeared to give Meghan a subtle telling off during the podcast. The Duchess of Sussex talked about how she paused the distribution of her As Ever products after they sold out within 45 minutes of its launch last April. 'But what do you do then?' Knowles appeared to bluntly ask, before she went on later describing the importance of being consistent in selling products. Meghan replied as if she was an overworked victim saying she decided to 'pause' in order to restock her As Ever brand. The difficulties have caused her 'tears' behind the scenes because she has so many different things to do at the same time and also be a mother, wife and a businesswoman. She told Tina her concern: 'I don't want you to eat that jam once every six months. I want it to be on your shelf all the time.' Tina also told Meghan during the podcast that family should always be a priority. There seemed no doubt Meghan wanted all of us to feel sorry for her. But surprise, surprise almost straight away a very bright Meghan was back on Instagram showing viewers bowls of strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries, and telling them excitedly that her As Ever products, including raspberry spread, would be returning. She added that she 'can't wait' to show off her new additions later this month. Meghan is also going to launch a series of new products which include rosé wine, and she'll be helping travellers find accommodation. Even her lifestyle brand's website was upbeat: 'As Ever is more than a brand - it's a love language. Created by Meghan'. What on earth is she playing at? Perhaps Meghan doesn't want to sit down with colleagues for six months and work things out carefully to get her brand into gear - as she appears to be at her happiest when she is being seen. She also seemed to have been prompted by Lilibet's fourth birthday to face the spotlight in a very different way by posting a video of herself when she was in the delivery room about to give birth to her daughter. It's hard to know why she wanted to wait so long. She showed us how to twerk and how she could get a nine-month-old bump to bounce up and down. We saw her bending down very low with her dress pushed up. I've had three babies and I couldn't have done anything like that just before birth. Harry, incidentally, did a bit of dancing but mainly kept out of the way. The Duchess joked about the viral video saying "you have to be authentic". "It's also a really great reminder that, with all the noise or whatever people do, there's still a whole life. A real, authentic, fun life that's happening behind the scenes.' But for someone who has yearned for privacy showing herself off as she did was a distasteful surprise. After all she and Harry want the respect and the UK security protection given to working royals. Someone on her behalf has said she couldn't care less about the 'prudish' reaction of Britons to the video. 'Particularly in America and especially with young people, it (the video) has been a huge hit,' the source told the Daily Mail. But some royal aides have told me they found the vision disgusting. It shows that Meghan's image has become more chaotic. This time she didn't hide away when she was criticised. Instead she, Harry and the children went to Disneyland, California for their daughter's birthday – with the little ones' faces covered with heart symbols in a photo posted on Instagram. Certain standards are expected of royalty in what they do and say. But Meghan has always wanted to get the better of the Royal Family and she's done that with her cringeworthy behaviour.
