Rather, Ujjwal has shown his inclination to study at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. According to the News 18 Hindi report, he shared in an interview that his interest is in research work, especially quantum physics, and he finds IISc Bangalore to be the ideal institution to nurture that interest. He mentioned that though IITs provide great opportunities to get employment with good packages, his aim is not to look for a job but to go ahead with research. Ujjwal's path to success started back in 8th grade when he chose to pursue science in 11th standard, fueled by his passion for Physics and Mathematics. His steady focus and hard work have truly paid off, earning him a spot among the top performers in the nation's most challenging entrance exam.

VIJAYAWADA 'I was fast asleep when my brother Karthikeya woke me up and broke the news of my success in the JEE exam. The house erupted in celebrations. I am still excited,' said an excited Vadlamudi Lokesh, who secured an all-India 10th rank in the JEE (Advanced) 2025 and is also the State topper. IIT-Kanpur announced the results in the early hours of Monday for the entrance exam conducted on May 18. Lokesh had appeared for the exam from the IIT Hyderabad zone and secured 317 marks, placing him in the top 10 of the Common Rank List (CRL). His father, Venkaiah Naidu, who works with a Dutch-based NGO, and mother, Sailaja, a homemaker, are elated over their son's achievement. 'Ï worked really hard and was confident that the amount of hard work I invested in my preparation for the exam, would pay off,' he says, adding that he was expecting a rank below 60. 'To know that I had done way better and had scored 10th rank came as a pleasant surprise,' he told The Hindu on Wednesday. Lokesh is keen on joining IIT-Bombay and pursue a course in Computer Science Engineering (CSE). 'My aim is to start my own company in the future and pay back to society,' says the young achiever. After completing his schooling in different places, including his primary education in Ethiopia, he joined the Narayana campus at Kanuru in Vijayawada for intermediate education. Students of IIT Hyderabad zone performed exceptionally well this year, securing five positions in the top 20. Arnav Singh from Hyderabad bagged the 9th rank with 319 marks, while Lokesh secured 10th position. Dharmana Gnana Rutvik Sai, also from Andhra Pradesh, secured 18th rank and topped in the OBC-NCL category at the national level. Vangala Ajay Reddy from Nellore stood 19th and secured first rank in the GEN-EWS category, followed by Avanaganti Anirudh Reddy, who secured 20th position.

Devdutta Majhi, who made headlines by topping the West Bengal Madhyamik exams in 2023 and securing the 6th position in the Higher Secondary exams, has now achieved yet another extraordinary milestone. She has emerged as the female topper in JEE Advanced 2025, earning an impressive All India Rank 16 in the Common Rank List with 312 marks. She also topped the state of West Bengal and the IIT Kharagpur zone. Hailing from the IIT Kharagpur zone, she is one of the five students from the region to make it to the top 100. A student of Katwa Durgadasi Chaudhurani Girls' High School, Devdutta's consistent academic brilliance has now been stamped with national-level success. She chose to prepare from home, using online resources to clear her doubts and improve her understanding. She also regularly practiced through mock tests to sharpen her skills. After finishing her Madhyamik exams in 2023, Devdutta followed a strict study routine, dedicating at least 10 hours a day for JEE preparation. Speaking to The Times of India, she said, 'I had a clear goal i.e. to crack JEE Advanced. I avoided all social events, family functions, and distractions to stay focused.' Advertisement === 'Self-study was my strength,' says Devdutta Majhi Devdutta Majhi believes that success in exams like JEE Mains and Advanced is not something coaching centres alone can ensure. 'You need a proper study plan and consistent practice over two years. At the end of the day, self-study is the most effective tool,' she shared. What makes her achievement even more meaningful is the personal sacrifice that came with it. Devdutta, who used to love playing the violin, set it aside completely during her preparation. 'I didn't touch my violin for two years. It was something I loved deeply, but I knew I had to give it up. The only break I allowed myself was talking to my mother about my studies,' she said with a smile. After securing AIR 16 in JEE Advanced 2025 and emerging as the female topper, Devdutta now wants to get admission in the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. She wants to explore the world of artificial intelligence and robotics, especially in the field of research. The JEE Advanced 2025, conducted on May 18, saw 1.8 lakh candidates appear for both Paper 1 and Paper 2. Out of those, 54,378 students qualified, including 9,404 girls.
