Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors If you're going to make a rock biopic and you need to cast the frontman, you may as well get a singer to play a singer. Deadline reports that's exactly what's happened with the upcoming biopic of the glam rock band KISS. Nick Jonas of Jonas Brothers fame has been cast as KISS frontman Paul Stanley in the upcoming biopic about the band, "Shout It Out Loud". The film is directed by McG from a script by Darren Lemke. McG is best remembered as the director of the 2003 sequel "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" and 2009's "Terminator Salvation". Paul Stanley of KISS performs during KISS: End of the Road World Tour at Madison Square Garden on December 01, 2023 in New York says that Jonas will be doing his own singing for the film, but that he'll be going through some training in order to more accurately sound like Stanley. The site also reports that McG is getting close to finding a star who can play perhaps the most famous member of KISS, Gene Simmons. While KISS is a four-man group, Stanley and Simmons have been the only consistent members over the years, with the rest of the lineup changing a number of times since the band's formation in the seventies. First getting together in 1973, KISS is less known for its music and better remembered for its theatrics. Their performances were known for their pyrotechnics, fire breathing, blood spitting, levitating drum kits, and more. The band members wear face paint and take on the roles of fantastic characters like Starchild (Stanley) and The Demon (Simmons). In fact, along with their onstage personas, the band has appeared in comic books for decades in stories that portray them not only as a rock band but as saviors of the world. The most recent comic was Dynamite Entertainment's "KISS: Phantom Obsession". They've also crossed over with numerous other properties such as "Vampirella" and "Army of Darkness". Musically, the band is best known for power anthems like "Rock and Roll All Nite". They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014. Bruce Willis' daughter Rumer praises dad amid Die Hard star's dementia battle

Bruce Willis' eldest daughter Rumer has publicly credited her dad for being her inspiration, as the Hollywood action legend's condition continues to decline following his dementia diagnosis Rumer Willis has publicly praised her dad, crediting him with giving her the inspiration to become an action star, like iconic Die Hard actor Bruce. The 70-year-old was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) in 2023, with the action hero now "non-verbal" and requiring 24-hour care. His tragic diagnosis was made just a year after he retired from acting after being diagnosed with language disorder aphasia, in March 2022. His family confirmed his disease had progressed to FTD, which has a typical life expectancy of between six and eight years, but can be as low as two years. ‌ Bruce was married to actress Demi Moore, 62, between 1989 and 2000. They share three daughters, Rumer, 36, Scout, 33 and Tallulah, 31. The pair divorced, and Bruce remarried after meeting British model Emma Heming - they share two daughters, Mabel Ray, 12, and Evelyn Penn, 10. ‌ Bruce's eldest, Rumer, has revealed she is following in her dad's footsteps by making the move into the action genre. In her new movie, Trail of Vengeance, she plays disgruntled widow Katherine Atherton, who is dead-set on revenge after her husband's murder. In a recent interview with People magazine, she said: "My dad is such an action man," adding: "My mom's done her fair share [of action] as well." Rumer's mum Demi starred in Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle and GI Jane - in which she played the titular character. ‌ Rumer added: "I felt like a little kid when I found out I got [this role]." The movie is out now in cinemas. Mother-of-one Rumer makes sure her two-year-old daughter Louetta spends as much time as possible with her dad while she still can. A source previously revealed: "Rumer wants to make sure Louetta knows Bruce. "She wants him to be actively involved in Louetta's life. It's a very special bond. Rumer and her sisters love their dad so much. They are very conscious that any day could be his last." ‌ And his ex-wife Demi has also stepped up to make sure Bruce and their daughters are taken care of, despite their divorce. Speaking previously to Variety, the Substance star said: "We will always be a family, just in a different form." She added: "I've shared this before, but I really mean this so sincerely: It's so important for anybody who's dealing with this to really meet them where they're at. And from that place, there is such loving and joy." ‌ Speaking about her ex's diagnosis, Demi told Town & Country magazine: "Finally getting to a diagnosis was key so that I could learn what fronto-temporal dementia is and I could educate our children. I've never tried to sugarcoat anything for them. Sppeaking on CBS Sunday Morning in September she said: "The important thing is just to meet him where he's at, as opposed to being attached to who he was, how he was. Because, again, that only just puts you in a place of loss versus being in the present, meeting him where he's at, and finding the joy and the loving of just all that is where he is."

Demi Moore reveals her one demand before iconic 'Charlie's Angels' bikini scene

Demi Moore had one demand before she agreed to strip down to her bikini for her iconic role in 2003's "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle." On Tuesday's episode of "The Drew Barrymore Show," the actress told the host (who also starred in the film) that she learned about the scene with Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu just three weeks before filming. "All I remember is begging them not to shoot my butt. I don't know why that was my obsession," Moore said. The actress told Barrymore that she was forced to "compartmentalize" and concentrate on the scene. "I had no time to think about what I looked like, which was almost better," Moore said. Barrymore chimed in, "No one can do in three weeks what you showed up with. So you were clearly good to go. Like there's no magic wand that gets you to that in three weeks. I've done a three-week diet. I didn't end up there." Moore, who was 40 when she appeared in the "Charlie's Angels" movie, said that she "wasn't prepared for the focus that happened from it." "All I remember is begging them not to shoot my butt. I don't know why that was my obsession." "I had no idea the amplification, ironically, that was specifically tied to my age. I turned 40 when we were shooting the movie," she continued. Ultimately, Moore decided to sign on to the film after her three daughters — Rumer, Tallulah and Scout — convinced her. "I had taken a break only to be with them. I stopped and was just with them until they finally were like, 'You have to do this movie. We love the first one. You have to do this movie. And please, aren't you going to ever work again?'" Moore shared. Moore recalled thinking that it was important to show her daughters the "full expression of who she was" as a movie star. The actress appeared in "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle," the second film in the franchise, as Madison Lee, a former angel who would become the movie's villain. The first "Charlie's Angels" reboot, which starred Barrymore, Diaz and Liu, was released in 2000. In 2003, her three daughters and ex-husband, Bruce Willis, were there to support her at the "Charlie's Angeles: Full Throttle" premiere. She was also accompanied by her then-boyfriend, Ashton Kutcher. Moore and Willis tied the knot in 1987 before divorcing in 2000. They share three daughters. Moore married Kutcher in 2005 and divorced in 2013.
