SVU commences AP PGCET-2025 entrance exams

Tirupati: AP PGCET-2025 entrance examinations, conducted by Sri Venkateswara University on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE), commenced on Monday. The exams were officially launched by Prof Ch Appa Rao, the Vice-Chancellor of Sri Venkateswara University, who released the question paper code formally. Registrar Prof M Bhupathi Naidu, uploaded the exam code, marking the start of the entrance process. Convener Prof PC Venkateswarlu stated that on the first day, entrance exams were conducted in three sessions for 17 subjects, including English, Sanskrit, Tamil, Fine Arts, Sericulture, Polymer Science, General Studies, Hindi, Urdu, Performing Arts, History, Education, Electronics, Geology, Telugu, Food & Nutrition, and Statistics. Exams were held at 14 centers, including Hyderabad, with an attendance rate of 81 percent, he added. Co-convener Prof K Surendra Babu mentioned that the exams are being conducted under the supervision of AP Online and the TCS team to ensure smooth administration and monitoring.

Tirupati: All arrangements are in place for the smooth conduct of the Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (AP PGCET–2025), scheduled from June 9 to 12. Sri Venkateswara University (SVU), under the aegis of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE), is fully geared up to oversee the examination, marking its return as the organising university after a four-year gap. Addressing the media on Saturday, Vice- Chancellor and Chairman of the PGCET Prof Ch Appa Rao, along with Registrar Prof M Bhupathi Naidu, convenor Prof PC Venkateswarlu and co-convenor Prof Surendra Babu, outlined the university's readiness and the comprehensive arrangements in place for the examination. 'We consider it a privilege for Sri Venkateswara University to lead AP PGCET–2025. Our team has taken all necessary steps to ensure the process is fair, inclusive and seamless for all aspirants. With bilingual question papers and efficient scheduling, we are ready to deliver a student-friendly examination experience,' the Vice-Chancellor said. A total of 25,688 candidates have applied for admission into 143 postgraduate programmes offered by 17 State universities, with nearly 25,000 seats available. The examinations will be conducted at 30 centres across the 13 erstwhile districts of Andhra Pradesh and in Hyderabad. The exam will take place in two shifts daily over four days. To avoid scheduling conflicts for candidates appearing for the DSC examination, the Physical Education paper originally slated for the morning of June 9 has been rescheduled to the afternoon of June 10. Notably, 68 differently-abled candidates will appear for the exam, and the organising committee has ensured all necessary support, including the provision of scribes, is in place to facilitate their participation. The results of AP PGCET–2025 are expected to be announced by June 25, followed by the admission process. Candidates are advised to strictly adhere to reporting times as latecomers will not be permitted to enter the examination halls. Tirupati: SV University Vice Chancellor Prof Ch Appa Rao delivered a keynote presentation at the National Workshop on Multidisciplinary Education and Research University (MERU), organised by the Ministry of Education under the PM-USHA initiative in New Delhi on Wednesday. Representing SVU as the coordinating institution for Session 4—focused on 'Future of Work and Courses in Emerging Areas', Prof Appa Rao outlined a forward-looking strategic roadmap addressing workforce preparedness and academic transformation. His thematic presentation, developed in collaboration with five leading state universities, emphasised the urgent need for universities to adapt to rapid technological and industry changes. Key proposals included curriculum reform to introduce interdisciplinary and flexible learning paths, integration of emerging fields such as AI and renewable energy, and a stronger focus on digital fluency and entrepreneurship. The roadmap also called for enhanced industry-academia collaboration, robust research clusters, faculty development, and inclusive digital outreach. Prof T Ramasri, Coordinator, RUSA and Rayala Vamsi, CEO, RUSA, also represented SVU at the workshop, contributing to the formulation of the joint roadmap.

Tirupati: Sri Venkateswara University (SVU), Tirupati, has earned a place in the prestigious 601+ band of the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings 2025 – a recognition hailed by university authorities as a proud milestone in SVU's journey toward academic excellence and global visibility. The Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings are widely regarded as one of the most comprehensive evaluations of research-focused institutions across the continent. The 2025 edition assessed 853 universities from 35 countries and territories, using indicators such as teaching, research quality, knowledge transfer, and international outlook. SVU's performance in key areas contributed significantly to its inclusion in the rankings. The university scored 29.2 in international outlook, 25.0 in research quality, 25.6 in industry engagement, 14.1 in research environment, and 43.5 in teaching. This recognition reflects the university's sustained efforts to foster a vibrant academic ecosystem grounded in innovation and global collaboration. Vice Chancellor Prof Ch Appa Rao expressed pride in the accomplishment, stating that the recognition by Times Higher Education is a moment of immense pride for the university. He said it reflects years of collective dedication, strategic academic planning, and a firm commitment to research-led growth. He extended his gratitude to the faculty, researchers, administrative staff, and students whose efforts contributed to the honour.
