FBI Offers $15,000 Reward for Information Over Man Killed at Birthday Party
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is offering a $15,000 reward for information on the person who killed a man at a birthday party. Geavauntae (Tae) Sherman, 22, was shot and killed at his sister's birthday party at Raymond City Park in Portland, Oregon, on June 20, 2022. Three years later, police are still looking for information that could lead to the arrest of the shooter. The FBI Portland office has been contacted via email outside of working hours for comment. There were dozens of witnesses to the shooting when it occurred, but none have come forward, per Oregon Live reporting. This renewed interest in the case from the FBI and large reward may inspire witnesses to talk to law enforcement. Sherman was at the park to celebrate his younger sister's birthday when he got into an argument with a group of people over playground equipment. Oregon Live reported at the time, citing police, that some children, including his two younger sisters, were having an argument over the swing sets. Then, a few adults from a separate park birthday party went over to the playground and got involved in the fight. Sherman went in to intervene, which is when someone pulled out a gun and shot Sherman three times right next to his 21-year-old sister, Dayshanay Sherman. She told the outlet that her brother's last words were "'Why are we yelling and cussing? We're all adults.'" Dayshanay Sherman described her brother as her "best friend," and "a very protective and goofy older brother." The case has seen renewed interest as part of the FBI's Case of the Week program, where an unsolved case that either occurred around the same time a few years ago or is of major public interest, is highlighted by the bureau. Although the FBI offered the same monetary reward in 2023, nobody came forward then. It is offering $15,000 again two years later in the hopes that witnesses speak up. Dayshanay Sherman told Oregon Live in 2022: "Everything is so quiet without Tae, because he always knew how to keep the conversation going. He was a good person... he was my best friend." Kieran L. Ramsey, special agent in charge of the FBI Portland field office told the press in 2023: "We know there were dozens of witnesses in the park that evening. We need those witnesses to come forward with any details they remember." FBI Offers $20,000 Reward Over Arizona Woman's Mysterious Death
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is offering a $20,000 reward for information regarding the suspicious death of Adrienne Celeste Salinas, who went missing and was later found deceased in 2013. Salinas' death has now remained a mystery for more than 12 years, as she was reported missing on June 16, 2013. Investigators still have no leads on why she was killed, or who did it. Her family initially raised money for a $10,000 cash reward via GoFundMe in 2013, now the FBI is offering double that for any information. Salinas' family has been contacted via GoFundMe. FBI The Context Salinas' death is being brought back to the public's attention by the FBI's Case of the Week which highlights unsolved crimes. What To Know According to the FBI, on the night of June 14, 2013, Salinas was at a birthday party for a friend at her residence in Tempe, Arizona. Salinas, who was 19 years old at the time, was at the party until the early hours of the morning on June 15. She then briefly left the party before returning to talk to her housemate. At approximately 4 a.m. she left the party again, but was involved in a car accident nearby soon after. According to the FBI, she then returned to her apartment to get changed, but was not seen by anyone there. However, according to People magazine, Salinas called a cab immediately after abandoning her car. Both the FBI and People journalists state that she called a cab to take her to her boyfriend's apartment, and a driver told police she had called him to confirm her pickup location was a convenience store close to her home. However, when the driver arrived at the location, nobody was there and all calls to Salinas' phone went to voicemail. According to witnesses, she was driving erratically to her boyfriend Francisco "Fran" Arteaga's house after being upset about the way he was acting at the party. Her car, a 2002 Mercury Sable, was found abandoned. Her body was found behind a home in Apache Junction, Arizona, on August 6. Despite 12 years of investigations and being the subject of countless true crime documentaries, police still do not know how she got there, or who was involved in her death. One theory from local investigators is that infamous "Phoenix Canal Murderer" Bryan Patrick Miller was involved in her death, as he was known to be at a party nearby to hers on the night of her disappearance. Miller told journalist Briana Whitney "I had no knowledge of the case and still don't know much about it." What People Are Saying Rick Salinas, Adrienne Salinas' father, told the FBI in 2013: "Adrienne was a young girl that was very beautiful inside and out. She deserves justice." Tempe Police Homicide Detective Alan Akey said in 2013: "They are grieving. They want answers. They want to know what happened to their baby girl." What Happens Next In remains to be seen if the prospect of a $20,000 reward results in more information regarding her disappearance and death. The FBI has said: "Anyone with information regarding this case should call 1-800-CALL-FBI or the Tempe, Arizona, Police Department at (480) 350-8311."

FBI Offers $20,000 Reward for 'Armed and Dangerous' Prison Escapee
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) is offering a $20,000 reward for information that could lead to the arrest of Grant Matthew Hardin, a man the FBI and local law enforcement have said should be considered armed and dangerous. Hardin's case has been highlighted by the FBI in their Case of the Week. He escaped from Calico Rock Prison in Arkansas on May 25 where he was serving a prison sentence for homicide and rape convictions. A red banner on the agency's Most Wanted page reads: "Should be considered armed and dangerous and an escape risk." Officials do not believe Hardin received inside help from prison employees at this time, according to ABC. Newsweek has contacted the Stone County Sheriff's Office for comment via its website. FBI Why It Matters Hardin's escape comes after another high-profile jail break occurred in New Orleans, where 10 prisoners managed to escape from the New Orleans Justice Center, raising questions about prison and jail security. What To Know Once a police chief in Gateway, Arkansas, Hardin gained the nickname "Devil in the Ozarks" for his conviction of murder in the 1st degree and rape. Hardin was found guilty of murder in connection with the shooting of Gateway Water Department worker James Appleton in 2017. He was then found guilty of the 1997 rape of an elementary school teacher after police were able to use his DNA to match him to the scene, The Associated Press reported. According to an affidavit filed by Special Agent Dennis Simons of the Izard County Sheriff's Office, "Inmate Hardin impersonated a corrections officer in dress and manner causing the corrections officer operating a secure gate to open the gate and allow inmate Hardin to walk away from the North Central Unit." Authorities told the press that the uniform was not official, but "homemade or brought in somehow." Grant Matthew Hardin escaping prison in a homemade guard uniform. And, former Benton County prosecutor, Nathan Smith, described him to the outlet as a "sociopath." What People Are Saying Stone County Sheriff Brandon Long told ABC News: "I am very scared that this guy is going to hurt or kill somebody before this is over with." Stone County Sheriff's Office, on Facebook: "Anyone with information about inmate Hardin's whereabouts should contact local law enforcement immediately. Hardin was serving time in prison for rape and murder. He is to be considered extremely dangerous and should not be approached." What Happens Next Hardin was serving 30 years in prison for 1st degree murder, and 50 years for rape. He is now facing second-degree escape charges as well. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact 911, the Stone County Sheriff's Office, or their local FBI office.

FBI: Most Wanted's Closure-Filled Series Finale Reveals a Pregnancy, a Big Career Move and a New [Spoiler]
The following contains spoilers from the Season 6 — aka series — finale. Because it was officially cancelled nearly three months ago, CBS' FBI: Most Wanted had, and clearly made use of, the time to set steer its season finale into a proper series finale. More from TVLine The Voice's Season 27 Winner Is... Sadly, the FBI: International Series Finale Barely Featured OG Agents Vo and Raines - Grade It Spine-Tingling FBI Season 7 Finale Leaves [Spoiler]'s Life in Limbo The final Case of the Week was no great shakes. It showed promise as a 'ripped from the headlines' riff on Elon Musk and DOGE (here named BOGO) shutting down government agencies and firing federal workers en masse, complete with young tech bros calling the shots. The twist was that two of the BOGO bros were working a side hustle and schemed to access a federal server so as to create a 'kill switch' for the national cyber grid, to auction off to the highest bidder. In the end, though, they were in over their head and a quite inept, so both were either shot or in cuffs by almost 10:45 pm. The rest of the episode — including a cold open set in Houston, where Nina showed her sister off to Dallas, before having a nice moment with their father — was focused on team member updates and, ultimately, closure. Whilst sitting on a POI, Nina updated Ray on the sitch with her sis, after which he shared that he and Cory are having another baby. Then, at a 'soft opening' for Remy and Abby's restaurant/58th birthday party for the former, more updates trickled out. Hana shared that Ethan would be leaving rehab, 90 days clean, and they are moving in together. And there was more talk of the Nina/Tink and Ray/Cora developments. Remy then took the floor and detailed how, at age 58, he had decided not to once again apply to supercede the Bureau's mandatory retirement age (57). Instead, he told SAC Castille that he has decided to retire, so as to 'spend more time with the love of my life' as well as their new business venture. And who better to fill Remy's shoes than Sheryll, who will pass on the opportunity in D.C. and instead step up as the New York Fugitive Task Force's new team leader! Remy then led everyone, drinks in hand, outside the dive bar-turned-restaurant to 'see something.' He then flicked a switch to reveal the establishment's new sign and name: The Muster Room, which Abby signed off on. 'To family,' Remy toasted, as the camera pulled back on the team, and the series faded to black… Want scoop on , or for any other TV show?
