Sudanese Army Seizes Strategic "Atroun" Area Near El Fasher - Jordan News

Osman Al-Jundi, a correspondent for Cairo News Channel reporting from Omdurman, stated that North Darfur is witnessing major developments on the ground amid ongoing battles between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). He reported that the Sudanese army has successfully seized control of the strategic Atroun area, located northeast of El Fasher, near the border between North Darfur and Northern State. اضافة اعلان Al-Jundi explained that this advance comes at a time of heightened tension in the field, as the army continues its push into key locations that have witnessed intense clashes. Ongoing Humanitarian Crisis In a related development, Al-Jundi highlighted the worsening humanitarian crisis in displacement camps, noting that the Abu Shouk Camp in North Darfur was subjected to heavy shelling, which resulted in the deaths of 14 people and injuries to many others, according to preliminary figures released by emergency committees. He also reported that the situation in Omdurman remains dire, with the city suffering from a total blackout and water shortage for the past five days. This was caused by RSF attacks on power stations, severely affecting daily life—particularly for displaced people, who now make up a large portion of the city's population. Turning Point in El Fasher and Escalation in Al-Jazirah The reporter added that the battle for El Fasher, which has raged for a full year, has entered a new phase with the Sudanese Armed Forces making advances inside the city. Meanwhile, in Al-Jazirah State, the Al-Abatour Camp, affiliated with the Sudan Shield Forces, was heavily bombarded by the RSF. The attack left seven fighters dead and 14 others wounded.
