Mazda Launches Killer CX-30 Lease Offer For June
If you've been considering a compact crossover, Mazda just sweetened the deal. The automaker is now offering a compelling lease deal on the 2025 CX-30, a stylish and surprisingly fun-to-drive SUV that comes standard with all-wheel drive and a suite of upscale features. For June, lease prices start as low as $239 per month for 36 months, though exact pricing varies based on location and trim. Even in its base form, the 2025 Mazda CX-30 brings plenty to the table. The standard powertrain features a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine making 191 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is included on every trim, something that's still rare in the subcompact SUV segment. Fuel economy is solid too, with an EPA-estimated 29 mpg combined. In terms of features, even the entry-level 2.5 S comes well-equipped. A standard 8.8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, LED lighting, and key safety systems like Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic Alert are all included. The Select Sport trim adds larger 18-inch wheels, dual-zone climate control, and heated side mirrors, among other upgrades. The most attractive deal this month is in the New York City area, where you can lease a CX-30 2.5 S for $239 per month for 36 months with $4,299 due at signing. In Miami, that same model goes for $279/month with a lower $2,999 down payment. Still, if you average out the payment due at signing across the length of the lease, the two offers are very similar: $358 a month in New York and $362 a month in Miami. Other cities like Austin, Chicago, Charlotte, and Detroit see a price of $309 a month, also with $2,999 down. Over in Los Angeles, Mazda is offering the 2.5 S Select Sport for $286/month and $3,999 down, while Seattle and Denver residents will pay a bit more: $315/month for the same model and down payment. All of these offers are based on a 36-month lease with a 10,000-mile annual limit. With premium looks, engaging dynamics, and standard AWD, the Mazda CX-30 continues to punch above its weight class. With June lease offers like these, too, it's even easier to get behind the wheel of one. Keep in mind that advertised offers may vary by dealer, vehicle availability, and your credit history. These deals expire June 30th, so there's still time to compare pricing and make a move, especially if you're looking for a crossover that's both practical and fun to drive. *Disclaimer: This article is provided for informational purposes only. Mazda Voluntarily Recalls 171,000 Vehicles Due to Possible Airbag Fault
Mazda has initiated a safety recall for 171,412 of its late-model vehicles due to a software issue that could disable the airbags. The recall impacts 2024 and 2025 model-year Mazda 3 and CX-30 vehicles. Mazda has stated it is not aware of any accidents or injuries resulting from this issue. The recall includes 119,555 CX-30 crossovers and 51,857 Mazda 3 sedans and hatchbacks. According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the defect lies within the Sophisticated Airbag Sensor (SAS) unit. The issue occurs under a specific, unusual circumstance: if the vehicle's battery is completely drained while the ignition is left in the "ON" position. This specific action can cause the SAS unit to store an internal fault. When the vehicle's battery is subsequently recharged and the car is started, this stored fault triggers the airbag warning light on the dashboard and, critically, deactivates the vehicle's airbags, preventing them from deploying in the event of a collision. Mazda has confirmed that dealers have already been notified of the issue. The solution involves a software update to the existing SAS unit. Dealers will reprogram the module with improved software or, if necessary, replace the unit entirely. The repair will be performed free of charge as all 171,412 affected vehicles are still covered by their original factory warranty. Owners of the affected 2024 and 2025 Mazda 3 and CX-30 models will be formally notified by mail. The automaker expects to complete all owner notifications by the end of July 2025, instructing them to bring their vehicle to an authorized dealer for the repair. Mazda recall alert: Here's why over 183K models have been recalled. Check models affected
Mazda has announced two separate recalls affecting several vehicles due to critical safety concerns involving malfunctioning airbags and faulty turn signal indicators. According to notices from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), a total of 183,656 vehicles are impacted by these issues, which could increase the risk of accidents or injury. The recall affects several popular Mazda models. The airbag deployment issue and the turn signal indicator problem have been identified in the recalled models. Also Read: YouTube down: Users say videos not loading The majority of Mazda models that are being recalled (171, 412) have an airbag deployment issue in models 2024-2025 Mazda3 and 2024-2025 CX-30. They were called back as the airbags may not function as required during a crash, causing a potential risk of injuries. These vehicles were built between 2024 and 2025 in the US and Japan, as reported by USA Today. According to Mazda, these vehicles may be equipped with faulty airbag sensors that can trigger an error code and deactivate the airbags during low battery conditions, posing a significant safety risk in the event of a crash. The issue has been assigned recall number 7525E by Mazda and 25V357000 by the NHTSA. To deal with the issue, Mazda will either reprogram the airbag sensor unit or replace it with new units for free. The company will send a notification letter to the owners of these modes by July 28. Also Read: Samsung to start deleting inactive accounts soon: Here's how to stop it According to the carmaker, the rest of the 12,244 vehicles that were called back this week could have an indicator light problem. These include certain 2024-2025 Mazda MX-5 vehicles. The indicator light may fail to illuminate and alert drivers to problems with the traction control or dynamic stability control systems. Without proper warning, drivers may be unaware of compromised vehicle stability, increasing the risk of a crash. This issue is listed under Mazda recall number 7425E and NHTSA recall number 25V336000. The company assured that it will replace the dynamic stability control unit in the impacted vehicle for free. The owners will receive a notification letter by July 21.

Over 183,000 Mazda vehicles recalled. See impacted models. Mazda has issued two separate recalls impacting a total of more than 183,000 vehicles due to issues with airbags not deploying and an indicator light that may not flash. According to notices posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the recalls impact a combined 183,656 vehicles, including certain cars in the following models: Airbag issue: 2024-2025 CX-30 and 2024-2025 Mazda3 2024-2025 CX-30 and 2024-2025 Mazda3 Indicator light issue: 2024-2025 Mazda MX-5 Here's what we know about each recall so far. The vehicles were recalled because the airbags may not deploy in a crash, increasing the risk of injuries. According to Mazda, certain 2024-2025 Mazda3 and CX30 vehicles may have faulty air bag sensors that set an error code, which could deactivate the airbags due to a low battery condition. The vehicles were built between May 2023 and January 2025 in Mexico and Japan. Mazda began investigating the issue after someone within the U.S. market reported an airbag warning light issue in June 2024. 'At that time, Mazda determined that the issue was non-safety related, as it was attributed to customer usage and/or error of leaving the ignition in the 'ON' position for two or more hours without starting the engine,' the company said. 'This caused the battery to deplete to a level where the engine could no longer be started, resulting in the illumination of the air bag warning light after the battery is recharged then the engine is started.' To fix the issue, dealers will reprogram the air bag sensor units with new software or replace the unit for free. Mazda said it plans to mail owners notification letters by July 28. The company said an indicator light on the vehicle fails to light up and warn drivers of a traction control system or dynamic stability control system issue, increasing the likelihood of them crashing. The indicator light recall includes certain 2024-2025 Mazda MX-5 vehicles. Mazda said it identified the issue after a supplier found a software error in February. The company added it made mass production changes with improved software in March. 'As of May 19, 2025, Mazda is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this concern,' the company wrote. 'Also, as of this date, no field report has been received by the U.S. and the U.S. Territories.' Mazda said dealers will replace the dynamic stability control unit for free. Cheapest Mazda Models Compared: 3 Sedan S Vs. S Select Sport
Cheap Doesn't Mean Nasty At Mazda New cars under $20,000 are nearly extinct in the United States, which makes the $20k to $25k range the realistic price bracket if you're shopping for a new budget car. This price range includes a variety of sedans and crossovers, with the odd hatchback thrown in there, too. Mazda, which has a long history of small yet charming cars at the more affordable end of the market, has gradually veered more upmarket with its vehicles' designs and quality in recent years. However, the two cheapest new Mazda models are still priced below $25k. Let's see what they are and how much value they offer. Source: Mazda What Is The Cheapest New Mazda? The most affordable new Mazda is the 3 Sedan in 2.5 S guise, which begins at $24,150. The only other Mazda at under $25k is another 3 Sedan, but it's the more visually appealing 2.5 S Select Sport grade; this one kicks off at $24,890. Every other Mazda, including the 3 Hatchback and CX-30 subcompact crossover, has a base MSRP of over $25k. Based on the pricing, Mazda has positioned these two 3 Sedans below the hatchback, obviously aware of the fact that buyers in this price-sensitive segment are more interested in the three-box body style. These cheapest Mazda cars compete with the Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic, so there is no shortage of stiff competition in the budget sedan arena. 2025 Mazda 3 Sedan 2.5 S 2025 Mazda 3 Sedan 2.5 S Select Sport Design: Cheapest Mazda Model Has An Air Of Elegance It's been almost seven long years since the current Mazda 3 generation was first revealed, but you wouldn't necessarily know it's been that long by looking at this sedan. Its lines have aged well, partly because modern Mazda design prioritizes uninterrupted, smooth surfacing over aggressive, fussy detailing. Being Mazda's cheapest car, the base 2.5 S model's 16-inch alloys do look rather ordinary, though. The 18-inch alloys with a black finish on the S Select Sport make a considerable difference to the looks. Both of these cheap Mazdas have LED headlights, daytime running lights and taillights. Black mirrors and a black glossy finish on the grille further differentiate the S Select Sport. This pricier trim also has access to a more interesting color palette, including Soul Red Crystal Metallic, which has become one of Mazda's signature colors. 2025 Mazda 3 Sedan 2.5 S 2025 Mazda 3 Sedan 2.5 S Select Sport Interior: Simple Yet Premium Mazda interiors have come a long way, and even the cheapest Mazda 3 Sedans are proof of this. Yes, they lack some of the snazzier finishes and colors of the top models, but there are still plenty of soft-touch surfaces to enjoy. These affordable Mazda cars get an 8.8-inch center display, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a six-speaker sound system, and a seven-inch LCD meter display. There's just enough digital integration to feel modern, but key functions are manipulated by clear buttons and knobs. The S gets cloth upholstery and conventional air conditioning, whereas the S Select Sport adds leatherette upholstery, a leather-trimmed steering wheel/gear knob, and dual-zone automatic climate control. 34.4 inches of rear legroom on the passenger side and 35.1 inches on the driver's side are merely average, especially when you consider the Civic Sedan has 37.4 inches. And, at 13.2 cubic feet, the Mazda's trunk is smaller than the Honda's, too. Source: Mazda Performance: More Standard Power Than Rivals The base Mazda 3 Sedan had a 2.0-liter engine as recently as the 2023 model year, but the more powerful 2.5-liter four-pot is now standard. Producing 191 hp and 186 lb-ft of torque, it's easily more powerful than equivalent Honda and Toyota rivals. Only front-wheel drive is available for the cheapest new Mazda 3 trims, and both use a six-speed automatic. This setup enables a 0-60 mph sprint time of around seven seconds, based on independent tests, and efficiency works out to 27/37/31 mpg city/highway/combined. The base Civic can manage 36 mpg combined, but with only 150 hp and a CVT, it's not nearly as fun to drive as the Mazda. It's in the ride and handling department that the 3 Sedan excels, with superior body control and a responsiveness missing from its competitors. Yes, even the least expensive Mazda is a fun car to drive. Screenshot — Source: Mazda Which Cheap Mazda 3 Is The Better Buy? For only $740 more, the S Select Sport is easily the trim we'd recommend. It appeals to the head and heart; not only do the visual upgrades make it look more expensive than it is, but there are meaningful extras in the cabin that enhance the everyday experience. If you're willing to exceed the $25k mark, you're better off going up another trim level, as Mazda doesn't offer many options. A frameless auto-dimming rearview mirror ($200) and an interior lighting kit ($230) are two of very few noteworthy extras. We'd add Soul Red Crystal Metallic paint ($595) to the S Select Sport and leave it at that. What you'll be left with is an affordable sedan that handles, performs, and feels like something from a segment above. Source: Mazda Other Affordable Mazdas These are the Mazdas that start at just above the price point of the 3 Sedan. Mazda 3 Hatchback: $25,150 The 3 Hatchback is simply a more youthful take on the 3 Sedan recipe, but carries a slightly higher price. Mechanically, it's identical to the sedan, and the specification sheet is the same as well. At 20.1 cubic feet, the hatchback does have a bigger trunk, though. Mazda CX-30: $25,195 Mazda's cheapest SUV since the departure of the CX-3, the CX-30 is much like a Mazda 3 Hatchback on stilts. It gets the same 191-hp engine, but AWD is standard here. There's more rear-seat space in the CX-30, but cargo capacity is almost identical to the 3 Hatchback. FAQs Is Mazda cheaper than Nissan? Many comparable Mazda and Nissan models are similarly priced, such as the Nissan Rogue and Mazda CX-5. However, Nissan has more options under $25k, including the Kicks Play that starts at $21,520 and the Versa sedan that starts at only $17,190. What is the most economical Mazda? The Mazda CX-70 and CX-90 plug-in hybrids achieve 56 MPGe combined, making them the most economical Mazdas. However, for non-plug-ins, the CX-50 Hybrid's 38 mpg combined is best. Excluding all hybrids, the base Mazda 3 sedan is best, getting 31 mpg combined. What is cheaper: Mazda or Toyota? Both these brands offer similarly good-value products. However, in the budget category, the Corolla ($22,325) is cheaper than the Mazda 3, and the Corolla Cross ($24,135) also undercuts the CX-30. About the Author Karl Furlong View Profile
