Hear Muse Blend EDM and Metal on Melodramatic ‘Unravelling'

Muse love doing everything all at once, and on 'Unravelling,' their first new music since 2022's Will of the People album, they combine EDM synths, melodramatic rock opera vocals, and shit-kicking prog-metal riffs. And somehow it all works in a way that sounds conspicuously like Muse. The most transcendent moment comes near the end when frontman Matt Bellamy sings, 'Feeling the glow die inside of our bones/This is a hymn for our love with no God and no throne,' in an exultant way right before his guitar digs into a nasty metal breakdown that sounds more like Slipknot than Muse. The group has not yet revealed if the song, produced by Dan Lancaster (Bring Me the Horizon, Blink-182), is foreshadowing a larger project. They gave it a bigger premiere on June 14, though, when they performed it at Finland's Rockfest for an audience of more than 50,000 people. The song's producer, Lancaster, plays keys and additional live guitar at Muse's live performances. A few years ago, when they were still promoting Will of the People, Muse showed fans just how deeply they could blend genres when they flipped Paul McCartney's 'Live and Let Die' into the ultra-metallic original song, 'Kill or Be Killed.' ''Kill or Be Killed' is Muse at their heaviest,' Bellamy said then. 'We wanted to update our hard rock sound on this album, and with 'Kill or Be Killed' we found a modern metal sound featuring double-bass drum action and even a death growl. Lyrically the song takes influence from my favorite Paul McCartney song 'Live and Let Die,' a dark take on how life's adversity can sometimes bring out the worst human instincts to survival at any costs.' Bring Me the Horizon fans just finding out band got name from 'inspiring' film

Bring Me the Horizon - the British rock band formed in 2004 - have released several albums and singles over the years, but not everyone knows the history behind their band name They've scooped up seven Kerrang! Awards and have been in the running for two Grammy Awards, yet some fans of Bring Me the Horizon are still scratching their heads over the origins of the band's striking name. The Sheffield-born rockers, comprising Oli Sykes, Matt Nicholls, Lee Malia, and Matt Kean, burst onto the scene in 2004 and dropped their first album 'Count Your Blessings' just a couple of years on. Since their early days, they've soared in popularity, becoming a staple for many who adore pop rock. Hits like 'Can You Feel My Heart', 'Drown', 'It Never Ends', 'Shadow Moses', 'Sleepwalking', 'The House of Wolves', 'Chelsea Smile', 'Throne', and 'Diamonds Aren't Forever' have cemented their status among the genre's heavyweights. ‌ Yet, the tale behind their moniker remains a mystery to some, prompting a curious soul on Quora to pose the question: "How did Bring Me the Horizon get their name?" ‌ Frontman Oli Skyes credits a moment from ' Pirates of the Caribbean ' as their muse, revealing to Spin: "Right at the end of the film - it might even be the very last line - Johnny Depp says, 'Bring me that horizon.' That was really inspiring." He reminisced about his youth in Sheffield, England, saying, "I was still living with my parents in Sheffield, England, when the movie came out [in 2003]. For me and the band, playing music was always wrapped up with the idea of touring and traveling and seeing the rest of England and the rest of the world." Their dreams of globetrotting seemed far-fetched, but it was what they yearned for. Skyes added, "We never thought doing that was possible, but that's what we wanted to do. So that quote sort of stands in for our feeling of wanting to see what the planet had to offer." However, the band also flirted with the idea of a photography-themed moniker. He quipped: "This Evidence in 8x10s, which could refer either to photographs or pieces of lumber. It may be the worst band name ever. It's good we didn't use it." ‌ A Reddit user was intrigued by this tidbit, commenting: "Today I learnt the band Bring Me the Horizon is named after the final line from the first Pirates of the Caribbean film, 'Now, bring me that horizon'." Another chimed in with: "Scene kid pop quiz trivia." A third reminisced: "I remember seeing this band at various gigs in the North West, in front of 50 people maximum when there were first band on. I remember them nearly getting booed off stage in Manchester too. "They never struck a chord with me and personally, I saw fame change Oli Sykes, but hats off to them for their success and keeping the original Yorkshire crew together after all these years." And yet another added nostalgically: "Man, it has already been 10 years since I saw those guys live in Hamburg...."

Oli has been married to Alissic, born Victoria Alissa Salles Silva, since 2017. They met while she was working as a model for his Drop Dead Clothing collection. In the video he shared, both Oli and Victoria could be seen sitting at their dining table with a box each in front of them. Opening the boxes, they each got out a cupcake that would end up revealing the gender of their twins. "Oh my god," Victoria said as she opened her box. "Are you ready?" she asked Oli, to which he said: "Bite it, bite it." Victoria took a bite and then revealed that there was pink sponge inside the first cupcake. Oli declared: "We're having a baby girl!" The rocker then opened his box and munched into his cupcake. "Oh my god, no f**king way, no f**king way," Oli said as he turned the cupcake around so it was in view of the camera lens. Showing off the blue sponge, it was revealed that the pair would be welcoming a baby daughter and a baby son. Victoria then said: "This is crazy!" What are the different types of twins? TWINS are when two children are produced in the same pregnancy. They can be identical or different, and two boys, two girls, or a girl and a boy. Twins are quite rare, but are usually born completely healthy What are the different types of twins? Monozygotic – identical twins ('one cell' twins) Dizygotic – also known as 'fraternal', non identical twins. Babies are no more alike than siblings born at separate times, and they can be the same or different sexes Conjoined twins – identical twins that are joined together. They are extremely rare, and it's estimated they range from one in 49,000 to 189,000 births, although around half are stillborn, and one third die within 24 hours. Can identical twins be two different sexes? Identical twins are always of the same sex because they form from the same fertilised egg that contains either female or male chromosomes. The single egg is divided into two separate embryos, and they occur in about three in every 1000 deliveries worldwide. Therefore, boy/girl twins are always fraternal (or dizygotic), as their chromosomes are either XY (male) or XX (female). What are Di Di twins? Di Di stands for Dichronic Diamniotic, and they are the common type of twins. They have their own amniotic sacs and placenta, so are just sharing the womb of the mother, and are therefore not identical. There are few complications with Di Di twins, so have a good chance of being born completely healthy without intervention from your doctor. Di di twins are more likely to be non-identical than identical. Commenting on the post, one person said: "Congratulations to you both." Another added: "This is the cutest thing I've ever seen CONGRATS." "You hit the lottery omg twins and a boy n girl," penned a third. A fourth then wrote: "OMG Oli is going to be a father! Did not expect the news of twins, but congrats to you both." While a fifth said: "OMG I'M FOLLOWING HAPPINESS!!!!! PLEASE BE HEALTHY!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!" And a sixth added: "So exciting. Best feeling in the world." Bring Me the Horizon are a British rock band. They were formed in Sheffield more than 20 years ago in 2004. The group currently consists of lead vocalist Oli, drummer Matt Nicholls, guitarist Lee Malia and bassist Matt Kean.

Fontaines D.C. Combine Bring Me the Horizon and Nirvana for ‘Like a Version' Cover

Fontaines D.C. have paid tribute to both Bring Me the Horizon and Nirvana during a recent cover performance. The Irish rockers unveiled their cover of Bring Me the Horizon's 2013 single 'Can You Feel My Heart' as part of an appearance on Like a Version, the long-running covers segment from Australian radio station triple j. More from Billboard U2 Are First Irish Songwriters to Be Named Fellows of the Ivors Academy Dancehall Star 1Ski OG Is Back With Two New Songs - And a New Stage Name The New York Pops to Honor Diane Warren at Carnegie Hall The performance was recorded earlier in the month, during the band's recent tour of Australia, though it was broadcast on the morning of Friday, March 21 (Australia time). Though triple j have long presented the covers as being live, Fontaines D.C. vocalist Grian Chatten told fans on Monday (March 17) the band were forced to cancel a run of shows in Mexico and Latin America after he suffered a herniated disc which left him unable to perform. As is standard for Like a Version, Fontaines D.C.'s appearance launched with a rendition of an original, with the band tearing through 2024's 'Starburster' before debuting their Bring Me the Horizon tribute. Though officially billed as a rendition of 'Can You Feel My Heart,' the performance shifts focus after the first chorus and sees Chatten instead singing the lyrics to Nirvana's 1993 single 'Heart-Shaped Box.' 'I think the sound of that song, the electronic elements, and just the general vibe of it kind of reflects stuff that we were touching on our last album, Romance,' explained guitarist Conor Curley in a post-performance interview. 'It kind of seemed like a good place to start, and it's a moody, beautiful song. I always get a little a bit nostalgic about that band just because it reminds me of reading and crying as a teenager and stuff like that, so I've always kind of kept tabs on them.' ''Heart-Shaped Box' is an absolute classic,' he added in reference to Nirvana's appearance in the performance. 'Grian just started singing it when we were getting the sounds, and it was almost kind of like, 'Do we switch it to that and use the instrumentation?' So, it kind of just made sense.' Notably, it's not the first time that Fontaines D.C. have been the focus of the Like a Version studio in recent months. In February, Porter Robinson used his appearance on the segment to cover the band's 2024 single 'Favourite.' ''Favourite' was, no pun intended, one of my favorite songs of the last year,' Robinson said after the fact. 'It was the song that made me a fan of Fontaines D.C. I just love it. I love major-key music. I love music that's extremely catchy and extremely hooky. And I love the way that this song feels like it's constantly tumbling forward.' Having first launched in 2004, the Like a Version series has gone from being a near-impromptu acoustic affair to featuring larger studio productions. Numerous artists have taken part over the past two decades, with the likes of Billie Eilish, Childish Gambino, Arctic Monkeys, and more reinventing classic tracks in the process. Offset to Perform in Russia Despite Label's Boycott

Offset has announced a performance in Russia set for April despite his parent label, Universal Music Group, having suspended all operations and closed offices there, shortly after Russia invaded Ukraine. The Migos rapper confirmed plans for a performance at Moscow's MTC Live Hall on April 18 with a post to his Instagram Story on Tuesday (March 4), which included a flyer featuring himself and a link to ticketing information. Billboard has reached out to reps for Offset as well as Universal Music Group and Interscope/Capitol for comment. UMG announced it was pulling out of Russia in March 2022, after the country launched its attack on Ukraine. 'We urge an end to the violence in Ukraine as soon as possible,' a spokesperson for UMG said at the time. 'We are adhering to international sanctions and, along with our employees and artists, have been working with groups from a range of countries to support humanitarian relief efforts to bring urgent aid to refugees in the region.' Other major Western music companies — such as Live Nation, Sony Music and Warner Music Group — also exited the country. However, some artists are starting to work their way back to performing in Russia. DaBaby, who is signed to Interscope Records/Universal Music Group, posted clips of his time in Moscow last week, where he performed a show. Offset has stayed busy on the music side in 2025. He returned with his island-tinged single 'Ten' on Valentine's Day.
