Molly Gordon Reacts to Her Viral Kissing Pics with 'The Bear' Costar Jeremy Allen White, Says We're a 'Judgmental Society'
Molly Gordon reacted to the viral photos of her kissing her The Bear co-star Jeremy Allen White last September in a new interview with Vanity Fair The actors play love interests Claire Dunlap and Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto, respectively, on the series Gordon said it's been "at times annoying, fascinating and interesting — just to be a part of something that people have opinions on" regarding the onscreen romanceMolly Gordon is sharing her reaction to those viral photos of her kissing her The Bear co-star, Jeremy Allen White. The Booksmart and Theater Camp actress, 29, avoided addressing the liplocked snaps directly when asked about them by Vanity Fair, only saying, "With the internet, I just think — I even see it in myself as a fan of things — we're just a more judgmental society." Gordon joined season 2 of The Bear as Claire Dunlap, the childhood sweetheart of White's Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto. The two pursue a relationship after a chance meet-cute in the grocery store, but are currently not together in the series. However, last September, the co-stars were photographed kissing in Los Angeles, arms wrapped around each other as the embraced and shared a kiss. A month later, Gordon and White, 34, were spotted stepping out for dinner in New York City's West Village. After the PDA photos, a source told PEOPLE there were on-set rumors that the co-stars "had intense chemistry even when not filming" but that they had only recently started "exploring their chemistry" in real life. The source added that White "really seems into" Gordon. Elsewhere in her Vanity Fair interview, Gordon opened up about how she was cast on The Bear. Having previously met creator Christopher Storer, she said she signed up for the restaurant drama only knowing she'd be playing a doctor — not that she'd be Carmy's love interest, whom he affectionately calls "Claire Bear." "I'm always 'the friend,' " she said. "I've never played the romantic person. I was like, 'Whoa, this is going to be a different experience.' " Gordon said White's protagonist "is a character that people feel so protective over, and it's been kind of controversial to bring a romantic element into the show." "That's been at times annoying, fascinating and interesting — just to be a part of something that people have opinions on," she added. Did you know Kaitlyn Dever faced personal tragedy just days before her powerful scene in 'The Last of Us'
Kaitlyn Dever 's haunting debut as Abby in 'The Last of Us' Season 2 was already emotionally charged — but few knew that the actress was quietly carrying her own devastating grief behind the scenes. In a recent interview with GQ, the rising star revealed that she filmed her first intense scene — discovering her character's father's dead body after he's shot by Pedro Pascal 's Joel — just days after burying her own mother, who had been battling cancer for 14 years. 'Even though death is part of the human experience, we are not meant to be used to grief,' Dever reflected. 'Watching your best friend die… I had just experienced that.' Shooting the emotionally gut-wrenching scene so soon after her real-life loss was, in her words, 'gut-wrenching.' The actress admitted that repeating the lines in a scene that eerily mirrored her own trauma made it all the more painful. 'That was a crazy line to repeat over and over again because I had just seen her. She wasn't alive anymore, and I saw her body in the hospital.' To navigate the overwhelming pain, Dever turned to words that brought her comfort — a heartfelt speech by Andrew Garfield after the loss of his mother. She shared how watching Garfield open up about grief gave her strength. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Buy Brass Idols - Handmade Brass Statues for Home & Gifting Luxeartisanship Buy Now Undo 'I would Google it and watch it often… because I always felt like the worst thing in my life that could happen was losing my best friend. Despite the emotional toll, Dever channeled her grief into a performance that has already struck a chord with audiences. In a poignant tribute shared publicly after her mother's passing, the Booksmart actress wrote, 'Thank you for fighting so hard for us for so long. I'll be broken forever without you. You were the greatest mom and wife.' She also credited her mother for the unshakable bond she shares with her sisters, Mady and Jane, and their father, writing, 'We'll always have each other to lean on because of you.' As Kaitlyn Dever steps further into the spotlight with one of the most anticipated roles in television, she does so carrying the memory of the woman who shaped her — with strength, vulnerability, and the quiet power of resilience. Andrew Garfield's outspoken grief helped with loss of my mother
The Last Of Us actress Kaitlyn Dever has said that Andrew Garfield being so outspoken about his grief after his mother's death helped her with her own loss. Dever revealed last year that her mother died after a breast cancer diagnosis, weeks before she filmed a scene for the post-apocalyptic HBO drama in which her character speaks about a brutal death. The 28-year-old, also known for Netflix dramas Unbelievable and Apple Cider Vinegar as well as the comedy film Booksmart, told GQ Hype that she has repeatedly watched Spider-Man star Garfield's Stephen Colbert interview in order to learn how to cope. She said: 'I would Google it and watch it often, because I always felt like… the worst thing in my life that could happen was losing my best friend. 'And I always thought that I wouldn't be able to go on. 'But then I'd look at Andrew and think, 'well, his life seems to be moving forwards'.' She also spoke to the online magazine about filming The Last of Us days after her mother's funeral. Dever, who attended London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (Rada), said: 'I had just experienced (my loss). 'Even though death is part of the human experience, we are not meant to be used to grief and watching your best friend die. So that was a crazy line to repeat over and over again because I had just seen her. 'She wasn't alive any more and I saw her body in the hospital. And that experience is so gut-wrenching. Nothing will ever be as bad as that.' Her character Abby tells Joel Miller, played by Pedro Pascal, she found her dead father's body shortly after he was shot, as she tries to get revenge against the protagonist. The second series of The Last Of Us was released in April and stars English actress Bella Ramsey as Ellie, who is kept safe across the post-apocalyptic world by Joel. Garfield, who was born in the US and later moved to the UK, began filming Netflix's biography Tick, Tick… Boom!, for which he was nominated for an Oscar, just after his mother Lynn died from pancreatic cancer in 2019. He recalled in 2021 to Colbert that he hopes 'this grief stays with me because it's all of the unexpressed love that I didn't get to tell her, and I told her every day, she was the best of us', while promoting the film.
