Foreign stars, local cyclists thrill Bintulu crowd

BINTULU (June 16): Indonesian rider Zaenal Fanani of Bolo 1000 Thrill Factory Racing Issi delivered a powerhouse performance in the Men's Open of Bintulu Mountain Bike Challenge 2025.
He clocked 01:00:56 to secure first place followed by teammate Ihza Muhd in 1:02:18 to cement a dominant showing for their team. Laurel Lauridsen Adrian of Ghost Speed Racing Team was third in 1:08:38.
The Women's Open was won by Drevionna Magdelynna Davin followed by Eirene Erving and Nurfara Ain Nabiela Abdul Hafiz on the podium.
Top three in the two Men's Masters races were Azizulazi Shaari, Mohd Zukri Tahir and Mohd Ridzuan Yusoff (A) with Supian Nor, Rozaine Ratu and Hardy Suntoi (B). The Men's Junior category was won by M Fajar Ramadhan who finished ahead of Akmal Thaif Begurdy and Muhd Fakhrul Afif Mislani.
Local talents Aidil Syahmizan Abdul Rahim, Mohd Zakwan Zamahari and Ismail Abdul Ghafar finished in that order to top the Bintulu Closed category.
Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang, who gave away the prizes, commended Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) as the main organiser. A total of 134 riders took part in the event including those from Brunei, Indonesia and South Africa.
'This is proof that Bintulu is increasingly being recognised as an international extreme sports destination,' said Pang.
Also present were BDA deputy chairman Dato Haidar Khan Asghar Khan, Bintulu Deputy Resident Abang Zainudin Abang Turkey and BDA senior officials. Men's Open of Bintulu Mountain Bike Challenge 2025
