BBC star Naga Munchetty faces bullying allegations and 'sex jibe' claims

Naga Munchetty hosted BBC Breakfast on Friday morning amid a report she has faced bullying allegations. The 50-year-old presenter hosted the BBC flagship morning programme alongside Charlie Stayt. It was reported earlier this year that an internal investigation was being carried out into allegations of bullying at the program. It has since emerged that the editor of BBC Breakfast, Richard Frediani, is taking an extended period of leave after allegations of bullying behaviour, including a claim he shook a female colleague. Deadline reported that Munchetty had raised concerns with senior BBC figures regarding Frediani's conduct, amid other misconduct complaints colleagues made against Frediani. The Sun has now reported claims that Munchetty faced her own bullying allegations. She is said to have been spoken to by BBC bosses over two incidents in three years. Munchetty is also reported to have used a slang term for a sex act during an off-air break at Radio 5 Live in 2022, reportedly leaving the studio 'stunned'. No formal action was taken, but Munchetty is said to have been spoken to about the incident. It was previously reported that co-hosts Munchetty and Stayt had no relationship with show producer Frediani, amid the allegations of bullying behaviour against him. A senior BBC figure in Salford told The Times: 'Fredi has no relationship with Charlie and Naga, which is weird when they are half of his frontline presenting roster. 'It appears he doesn't like them and they don't like him — for whatever reason, they don't talk to each other.' More Trending Frediani has been the head of the program, which is broadcast daily from Salford, since 2019, and is also editor of the News at One. He last month accepted a Bafta Award when BBC Breakfast won best TV news coverage for an episode dedicated to the Post Office scandal. A BBC spokesperson said: 'While we do not comment on individual cases, we take all complaints about conduct at work extremely seriously.' Metro has contacted a representative of Naga Munchetty for comment. View More » BBC Breakfast airs weekdays from 6am on BBC One. Got a story? Legendary BBC series hailed as ‘guilty pleasure' streaming for free in UK

A cult TV series has been added to a streaming service in its entirety for the first time ever, giving audiences a rare opportunity to watch it the whole way through. Eldorado, the short-lived BBC One soap from EastEnders creators Tony Holland and Julia Smith, is available to watch on UKTV Play. The iconic soap, which ran for just 156 episodes, followed the lives of British and European expatriates who resided in the fictional town of Los Barcos in Spain. It hit screens first in 1992, with BBC bosses hopeful of replicating the success of Australian imports such as Neighbours or Home and Away. The show didn't exactly pan out as the station hoped, though it did undergo huge changes towards the end of its run, which received positive reviews from audiences and an uptick in ratings. Despite the improvements, however, Eldorado was ultimately cancelled in 1993. Viewers who missed the BBC serial first time around have had few opportunities in the subsequent decades to give it a go, with the soap having been re-run on TV a number of times. UK Gold screened it in the late 90s and early noughties and a selection of episodes were made available on the UK's BritBox a few years ago. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? U&Drama re-ran the cult soap in its entirety earlier this year, with episodes added to streaming service UKTV Play for a short time after broadcast. However, the service has now re-added the earlier episodes, meaning that – for the first time ever – fans can essentially stream the whole Los Barcos saga. Though Eldorado was critiqued during its initial run, fan opinion has softened over the years. One viewer wrote on Reddit that they were enjoying the latest round of re-runs, branding the serial a 'guilty pleasure.' Another called the show 'brilliant' and 'comedy gold'. Just two weeks into the re-runs, fans were quick to share their delight at being able to revisit the sunny soap. '#Eldorado continues to deliver absolute camp' said one on X. More Trending Another added: 'Enjoying the repeats of Eldorado. I mean I can't hear it half the time but at least I can blame those Spanish acoustics and not my age.' 'Thoroughly enjoyed the first episodes of #Eldorado being repeated yesterday' said one. When the repeats concluded, fan James wrote on X: 'Los Barcos, I'm gonna miss you,' referring to the overhauled era of the show as 'f***ing fantastic television'. Coronation Street legend to stage TV return just weeks after exit

Coronation Street's Colson Smith is very busy following his departure from the soap. Colson played Craig Tinker from 2011-2025. The character was killed a few weeks ago while on duty as a police officer. 'Autumn last year I was told that Craig Tinker's time on the Cobbles is to come to end in 2025,' he wrote on Instagram earlier this year, confirming his departure. 'I've loved every single second of my 14 year stay as a resident on the greatest street in the world. I feel incredibly lucky to have grown up in, on and around Coronation Street. 'I've learned pretty much everything about life from the people who call it home. I'm excited to play out the exit story for our Craigy. For me, this is the end of the beginning. 'I genuinely can't wait to see what chapter two has in store for me.' Chapter two for Colson, so far, involves popular TV gameshows. The star previously revealed on the podcast On The Sofa that he will appear on Celebrity Mastermind soon, but he's also set to add another tense quiz show to his list. Colson confirmed in a chat with his co-stars, friends and fellow podcast presenters Jack P Shepherd and Ben Price that he's due to feature on The Weakest Link, hosted by Romesh Ranganathan. The actor went on to share that he's also been approached to appear on BBC One's Pointless, but he obviously needs to do this with a mate. 'They've also come in and asked about Pointless, but I've got to do it with a buddy', Colson said. 'Oh I'll do that. Yeah, I'm good at pointless!', Jack responded. The actor previously told Metro and other publications that it was his decision to be killed off from Corrie, wanting a more finite exit storyline. More Trending 'For me to go, I would want to leave,' he explained. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? The latest gossip from Emmerdale? 'I would want to die, I would want the door to be shut, so then I can know in my head that Corrie has been this, Corrie has done that, and it is now done, and Craig's journey is over. 'So in a really weird way, it was the right thing for me to be killed. I didn't want that 'we might have you back', knowing that it would be very unlikely, and knowing that it would feel a bit like unfinished business and an unfinished job.
