AGTF seizes poppy husk worth 1.5cr near Chaksu
Jaipur: The Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) seized nearly 1,000 kg of poppy husk valued at around Rs 1.5 crore during a highway checkpoint operation near Chaksu Friday. The consignment was reportedly being smuggled from Jharkhand and was intended for distribution in Rajasthan. ADG (Crime) Dinesh MN said that acting on a tip-off about a truck transporting a large quantity of illegal substances, the AGTF, working in coordination with Chaksu police, set up a checkpoint along a rain-soaked stretch of the highway. As officers moved in, the truck driver, sensing he was being tailed, abandoned the vehicle and fled, using the heavy downpour as cover. Senior officials said the container was packed tightly with poppy husk, concealed in a manner meant to evade detection. The seizure was made during a thorough inspection of the vehicle after it was secured by police. Investigators traced the truck's registration and launched a probe to identify the driver and uncover the larger network involved in the smuggling operation. A police officer said that the banned substance originated in Jharkhand. "It is still under investigation where exactly in Rajasthan the poppy husk was to be delivered," he said. The rain surrounding the highway made the search for the driver difficult, but police teams continue efforts to track him down. "It has come up during preliminary investigation that only the driver was in the truck. There was no helper," said the officer.

AGTF seizes marijuana worth 2cr, arrests five for smuggling in Jaipur
1 2 3 4 Jaipur: In a major crackdown on interstate drug smuggling, Rajasthan's Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Friday seized 424 kg of marijuana concealed in a truck and arrested five individuals, including the alleged kingpin in Jaipur. The seized consignment, valued at approximately Rs 2 crore in the international market, was being trafficked from Chhattisgarh to Jaipur under the guise of a medical delivery. According to ADG (Crime and AGTF) Dinesh M N, the AGTF team intercepted a Scorpio SUV at the Shivdaspura toll, which was found escorting a mini-truck. Based on a tip-off, the police set up a blockade at multiple locations. The truck was later seized in the Chaksu police station area, loaded with sacks of marijuana hidden beneath boxes labelled as medicines. The arrested accused include Sumer Meena (48), the alleged ringleader and a resident of Khorabisal, Jaipur West; Narendra Singh Jat (45); Nanagram Balai (55); Deepak Gurjar (38); and Himanshu Mata (29) of Karnal, Haryana. When the Scorpio stopped at Shivdaspura toll, the truck was still on its way to Jaipur. Upon learning about the interception, the truck drivers attempted to flee into the fields near Chaksu but were quickly arrested. A thorough search of the vehicle revealed the contraband beneath cartons of medicine. Police officials said that Sumer Meena previously managed to transport similar consignments on at least two occasions but was finally nabbed on this third run. His role in earlier drug hauls is now under further scrutiny. AGTF said it would intensify its crackdown on drug networks operating across state lines, particularly those using fake identities and medical fronts to evade detection. AGTF recovers second ak47 rifle; probes cross-border smuggling by Rohit Godara gang
Jaipur: The Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of the state police Wednesday recovered a second AK-47 rifle in the last week from a known offender in Churu. The weapon was seized from Jeetu Jodi, alias Jitendra Singh, a history-sheeter listed at Churu's Kotwali police station, as part of an operation named "Operation Queen". Jeetu Jodi was arrested by AGTF on June 6. During interrogation, he revealed the presence of an AK-47, following which the weapon was recovered. Earlier, AGTF recovered another AK-47 that was delivered to Jeetu Chambal by Jeetu Jodi through one Shivraj Singh. Jeetu Chambal is the brother of notorious dacoit Ramdutt Thakur, alias Sonu Chambal. Both rifles are believed to have been supplied by gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Rohit Godara, who allegedly smuggled them into Rajasthan through cross-border routes. AGTF arrested Jeetu Chambal along with his accomplice on June 5 and recovered an AK-47 from him. AGTF is now interrogating several criminals connected to the case. ADG Dinesh MN said, so far four people were arrested: Jeetu Chambal and Tejpal Thakur from Dholpur, Shivraj Singh from Jaipur, and Jeetu Jodi from Churu. Officials said Jodi had knowledge of the murder plans of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi but was not actively involved. AGTF ADSP Siddhant Sharma said that Ramdutt Thakur, alias Sonu Chambal, set up a private firing range in the ravines of Dholpur, where he trained hitmen from various states. Thakur, who previously exchanged fire with police in Dholpur before fleeing, was later arrested by Haryana Police. AGTF also revealed that the gang used the nickname "Rani" for the AK-47s to avoid raising suspicion during transport or communication. Code phrases like "Rani has arrived" or "Rani needs to be brought" were commonly used. This codename inspired AGTF to name their operation "Operation Queen".

AGTF arrests criminal linked to Sonu Chambal
Jaipur: Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Saturday arrested Shyampal Thakur, a wanted criminal with a Rs 15,000 reward on his head, from the ravines of Dholpur. Thakur, linked to the Sonu Chambal gang, was on the run since a recent exchange of fire with police in Rajakhera area. Thakur is accused of overseeing arrangements for gang members who used illegal firing ranges in the Chambal ravines to train with weapons. He is also suspected of being involved in trafficking arms, sheltering fugitives, and relaying police activity updates to the gang. Officials said he played a critical role in managing food, shelter, and transport for visiting criminals from Rajasthan and neighbouring states. The arrest took place late Friday night after police received information that Thakur was planning to escape to Uttar Pradesh by bus. Acting on the tip-off, the AGTF, along with Dholpur police, caught him at Khanpura Mod. After nearly a month of surveillance, the AGTF team managed to track down Thakur. Back on May 8, a police raid in Rajakhera targeting the Sonu Chambal gang resulted in the arrest of dacoit Madhav Singh along with a cache of firearms. During that raid, Shyampal Thakur, Sonu Chambal, and Thansingh Thakur opened fire at police and managed to flee, ASP Siddhant Sharma said. Police believe Thakur handled arms trafficking links between Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
