Report – Genoa & Six Other Clubs Line Up Summer Bids For Inter Milan Striker After Breakout Season At Spezia
Report – Genoa & Six Other Clubs Line Up Summer Bids For Inter Milan Striker After Breakout Season At Spezia Genoa are reportedly one of seven clubs in the race to sign rising Inter Milan talent Francesco Pio Esposito. Per Secolo XIX via FCInter1908, Patrick Vieira sees the 19-year-old as an ideal replacement for Andrea Pinamonti. Advertisement Indeed, the Italian striker will depart Stadio Luigi Ferraris despite a decent season-long loan from Sassuolo. As it turns out, the Griffins have no intention of activating his €14 million buyout clause. Therefore, they've already started a hunt for his successor. Francesco Pio Esposito is the first name on the list, though there's no shortage of suitors all across the country. (Photo by) Contracted to Inter until 2030, Esposito is one of Italy's brightest young prospects. However, competition for places at the San Siro is as fierce as it gets. As such, a summer departure is on the cards, with numerous Serie A clubs interested in his services. Inter's stance remains a bit foggy. Despite Esposito's burgeoning talent, the San Siro giants could sanction his sale for the right price. Yet, another loan deal looks far more likely.

Atalanta seal third spot in Serie A with comeback win over Genoa
Despite having already secured a Champions League berth for next season, Atalanta showed no signs of slowing down. The win took their tally to 74 points, solidifying their position in the league standings. Genoa struck first through Andrea Pinamonti in the 37th minute, but Atalanta responded shortly after the break with a goal from Ghanaian midfielder Ismail Sulemana (47'). Pinamonti then restored the hosts' lead in the 58th minute with his second of the match. However, Atalanta turned the game around with two late goals — Daniel Maldini equalised in the 63rd minute, and Mateo Retegui, a former Genoa player, sealed the win in the 89th minute. Retegui's goal marked his 25th of the season, breaking Filippo Inzaghi's long-standing club record for most goals in a single campaign, set in 1996–1997.

Atalanta's Retegui scores late to rescue 3-2 win at Genoa
A LAST-GASP goal by Mateo Retegui earned Atalanta a 3-2 win at Genoa in Serie A on Saturday as both teams played out an entertaining clash despite having nothing left to fight for. Atalanta, who secured Champions League qualification when they beat AS Roma on Monday, are third on 74 points from 37 games, four points off leaders Napoli and three behind second-placed Inter Milan who both have a game in hand. Genoa sit 13th with 40 points. Genoa took a surprise lead when striker Andrea Pinamonti nodded home in the 37th minute. Mattia Bani thought he had doubled the advantage for the hosts just before the break but VAR ruled the goal out for a handball. Atalanta levelled after the interval through Ibrahim Sulemana, who shot from distance, before Pinamonti restored the lead for Genoa in the 58th minute with a low strike inside the near post. But Atalanta equalised again when Daniel Maldini struck from the edge of the area five minutes later and the league's leading scorer Retegui wrapped up the points a minute from fulltime with a close-range shot that went in off the post for his 25th goal of the season. — REUTERS
