UFC on ESPN 69's Alonzo Menifield wants to avenge prior loss to Azamat Murzakanov
UFC on ESPN 69's Alonzo Menifield wants to avenge prior loss to Azamat Murzakanov Show Caption Hide Caption UFC on ESPN 69: Alonzo Menifield post-fight interview UFC on ESPN 69 winner Alonzo Menifield talks to MMA Junkie and other reporters post-fight after his decision victory over Oumar Sy in Atlanta. ATLANTA – Alonzo Menifield came through as a massive underdog on the UFC on ESPN 69 main card, but wishes he didn't have to endure a few more eye pokes. Few gave Menifield (17-5-1 MMA, 10-5-1 UFC) a chance to win the main card light heavyweight fight at State Farm Arena against Oumar Sy, who came into the bout undefeated. The hard-hitting Menifield pulled off the victory on the scorecards to hand Sy (11-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) his first career loss. During the fight, Menifield received a few eye pokes, which caused visible damage. For whatever reason, this frequently happens to Menifield. "If affects me because I'm telling you, every fight I'm in, I'm seeing multiple people," Menifield told reporters at a post-fight news conference. "And it's like, sometimes it's a knuckle, and I'm like, 'Alright, it probably was a knuckle.' But when it's clear, it's clear. I'm yelling to you, 'finger.' Yeah, it's a problem because he's doing it more than once. That's why I started protesting. But I gamed through it, got the W, so it is what it is." Menifield told referee Blake Grice repeatedly that Sy had his fingers in his eye, but he managed to work through the fouls to get the victory and make it back-to-back wins. If Menifield gets his wish next, he wants to run it back with Azamat Murzakanov, the man who handed him his most recent loss last August.

Alonzo Menifield vs. Oumar Sy prediction, pick, start time for UFC on ESPN 69
Alonzo Menifield vs. Oumar Sy prediction, pick, start time for UFC on ESPN 69 Alonzo Menifield and Oumar Sy meet Saturday in the main card opener of UFC on ESPN 69 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. Check out this quick breakdown of the matchup from MMA Junkie analyst Dan Tom. Last event: 3-2 UFC main cards, 2025: 52-43-1 Alonzo Menifield vs. Oumar Sy UFC on ESPN 69 preview Menifield (16-5-1 MMA, 9-5-1 UFC) enters on the heels of a split decision win over Julius Walker in February. The result ended a two-fight skid of stoppage losses against Carlus Ulberg and Azamat Murzakanov. Prior to those setbacks, Menifield was on a solid run with four wins and one draw. He comes into the fight against Sy as a massive underdog, the highest line at the betting window of his UFC tenure. ... Sy (11-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) will aim to keep his professional record unblemished. Although Menifield has significantly more expereince under the UFC banner, Sy has looked great so far. In his debut, he submitted Tuco Tokkos in the opening round, and followed that up with a unanimous decision win over Da Woon Jung. Alonzo Menifield vs. Oumar Sy UFC on ESPN 69 expert pick, prediction Despite having more action-packed matchups and appropriate features like local Atlanta fighter Malcolm Wellmaker relegated to the prelims, the main card on ESPN kicks off with light heavyweights Alonzo Menifield and Oumar Sy. In defense of the UFC matchmakers and their fetish for force-feeding us large men, Menifield and Sy could be an action-filled fight with an empathic ending given the athleticism and finishing potential on both sides. However, given that both men don't mind grappling (to differing degrees), this could also quickly turn into a three-round artificial insemination reenactment that gets the crowd shouting all sorts of things. Although a knockout is always on the table with someone like Menifield, I'll officially pick Sy to piss off the live audience by grinding his way to another unanimous decision win. Alonzo Menifield vs. Oumar Sy UFC on ESPN 69 odds The oddsmakers and the public are heavily favoring the French fighter, listing Sy -800 and Menifield +520 via FanDuel. Alonzo Menifield vs. Oumar Sy UFC on ESPN 69 start time, how to watch As the main card opener, Luque and Holland are expected to walk to the cage at approximately 10:10 p.m. ET. The fight broadcasts on ESPN and ESPN+.

UFC newcomers to battle Alonzo Menifield, Nursulton Ruziboev in Seattle
It's getting hard to keep track of the UFC Fight Night 252 lineup. In the midst of a slew of cancellations, the promotion added two new fights Thursday for the Feb. 22 event at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle. As first reported by MMA Junkie and made official by the UFC shortly thereafter, Alonzo Menifield will welcome promotional newcomer Julius Walker to the cage in a light heavyweight bout. Additionally, Nursulton Ruziboev will move back to middleweight to battle promotional newcomer Eric McConico. That bout was first reported by MMA Mania. Menifield (15-5-1 MMA, 8-5-1 UFC) was expected to face Oumary Sy at UFC Fight Night 255 on March 22 in London. However, Sy withdrew due to injury. Now back at Fortis MMA, Menifield aims to snap a two-fight skid. Walker (6-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) rides a regional career's worth of finishes and success into his promotional debut. He is the Synergy FC and Peak Fighting ligh heavyweight champion. Ruziboev (34-9-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC) returns to middleweight after his first UFC loss, a unanimous decision dropped vs. Joaquin Buckley in March 2024.
