Job opportunities for Andhra Pradesh welders in Qatar
The Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC), in partnership with Matrixx Overseas, has announced an international job placement programme for skilled welders in Doha, Qatar. This initiative is designed to open overseas employment avenues for experienced professionals from Andhra Pradesh. In a statement on Thursday (June 19), Executive Director of APSSDC D. Manohar said applications have been invited from male candidates aged between 24 and 45 years, holding an ITI/ITC certificate in welding and having at least four years of relevant work experience. The job location is Doha, Qatar, with a monthly salary ranging from QR 2,200 to QR 2,600 (approximately ₹51,939 to ₹61,365). The employment is on a two-year contract, and the employer will cover visa processing, flight tickets and health facilities. Mr. Manohar said a recruitment fee of ₹35,000 is applicable, which includes all travel formalities and can be paid upfront or through salary deduction. Applicants must submit a valid passport, ITI/ITC certificate and work experience certificate. APSSDC chief directs officials to focus on youth skill training and employment opportunities
Chairman of Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) B. Sesharao on Wednesday (June 18) emphasised the need to work collectively to enhance skill development among the youth. Addressing a review meeting held at the Corporation's head office at Tadepalli, Mr. Sesharao took stock of the various skill development programmes, their implementation, progress and management. He underscored the need to design training programmes that align with the industry needs and regular reviews to assess the performance of training centres in each district. He said every employee of the Skill Development Corporation should work collectively and in a transparent way to achieve the ambitious targets set by the government. Speaking about the importance of strengthening the industry–academic connect to create better employment opportunities for the youth, he said efforts would be made to provide skill training from the high school level onwards and added that the corporation would actively support the startup ecosystem. He said officials at all levels should work relentlessly in tandem to achieve the development goals outlined in 'Vision 2047'. The meeting was attended by managing director and chief executive officer of the corporation Ganesh Kumar, Advisor for International Skill and Employment Affairs Seetha Sharma, executive directors of the corporation G. Anil Kumar, D. Manohar and Raghu.

APSSDC, OMCAP ink MoU with Matrix Overseas to facilitate global job opportunities for Andhra Pradesh youth
The Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) and the Overseas Manpower Company of Andhra Pradesh (OMCAP) have signed a tri-partite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with M/s. Matrix Overseas Services Private Limited, a recruiting agency accredited by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. The partnership deal, signed at the APSSDC office at Tadepalli on Friday (June 13), is a key initiative under the Skill International Programme of the Department of Skill Development and Training, Government of Andhra Pradesh. Executive Director, APSSDC, and General Manager of OMCAP D. Manohar, said the partnership is aimed at enhancing the global employability of youth from the State by upgrading their skills to meet international standards. Through this collaboration, a pilot training programme has been launched targeting unemployed youth in the skilled welders and pipe fitters sector. The programme is designed to align with global workforce requirements and facilitate overseas placements for qualified candidates, he informed. Mr. Manohar emphasised the rise in global demand for skilled manpower and reiterated the State's commitment to equipping its youth with the capabilities needed to access international employment opportunities. Key stakeholders, including representatives of Matrix Overseas Services Private Limited Shiju Varkey and C. James and General Manager, APSSDC G. Kishore Kumar, were present.

Promotion of startup ecosystem: Govt signs tripartite MoU
VIJAYAWADA: In a major step toward fostering entrepreneurial skills among youth and enhancing the startup ecosystem in the State, the State government has signed a significant tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cyient Foundation and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The agreement was formalised in the presence of Nara Lokesh, Minister for Education and IT, at his residence in Undavalli. Senior officials from the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC), Cyient Foundation and AICTE participated in the MoU signing. Under this collaboration, urban innovation clusters will be established, with the first cluster to be launched in Visakhapatnam. These clusters will focus on instilling entrepreneurial thinking in educational institutions, fostering intellectual property (IP) generation and promoting startup culture. The initiative aims to enhance the skills and capabilities of students, faculty and institutions across the State. The MoU also seeks to build strong partnerships between educational institutions, industry players, and investors - laying the foundation for a more dynamic innovation-driven ecosystem. Launch of i-CARE and i-CAFE centres: As part of this initiative, specialsed centres titled i-CARE (Innovation Creation and Research for Entrepreneurship) and i-CAFE (Idea Creation and Auxiliary Facilities for Entrepreneurship) will be set up. In addition, IPR and Technology Transfer (IPR-TT) cells will be established in engineering colleges, especially in and around the Visakhapatnam region. Key activities will include boot camps, hackathons, innovation fairs and entrepreneurship competitions. Cluster-level conclaves and expert mentorship sessions with industry leaders will also be organised to nurture a culture of innovation and enterprise among students and educators. The APSSDC will serve as the nodal agency to coordinate efforts between various State departments and implementation partners.

240 ITI students participate in skill training initiative for job opportunities abroad
The Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC), in collaboration with Project Sarva Sethu, has launched a virtual skill training initiative to prepare ITI (Industrial Training Institute) students for employment opportunities in Germany. The programme was inaugurated by G. Ganesh Kumar, APSSDC Managing Director on Monday. Mr. Ganesh Kumar stressed the importance of learning German as a gateway to global careers and acknowledged the initial challenges of language acquisition, but assured students of full support from expert trainers. He also appreciated the involvement of Telugu-speaking professionals in Germany, who will mentor students as they adapt to international environments. More than 240 students from 14 ITI colleges participated in the first session titled 'Deutsch Level A1 – Alphabets and Pronunciation', on Monday. Project Sarva Sethu, founded by Rahul Kumar, focuses on bridging gaps between skills, cultures, and global opportunities. Through language and cultural training, the initiative empowers India's skilled and semi-skilled workforce to succeed internationally, particularly in Germany. 'Our mission is to empower India's workforce through tailored language and cultural training, ensuring participants are fully equipped to thrive globally,' said Mr. Rahul Kumar.
