
APSSDC chief directs officials to focus on youth skill training and employment opportunities
Chairman of Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) B. Sesharao on Wednesday (June 18) emphasised the need to work collectively to enhance skill development among the youth.
Addressing a review meeting held at the Corporation's head office at Tadepalli, Mr. Sesharao took stock of the various skill development programmes, their implementation, progress and management.
He underscored the need to design training programmes that align with the industry needs and regular reviews to assess the performance of training centres in each district. He said every employee of the Skill Development Corporation should work collectively and in a transparent way to achieve the ambitious targets set by the government.
Speaking about the importance of strengthening the industry–academic connect to create better employment opportunities for the youth, he said efforts would be made to provide skill training from the high school level onwards and added that the corporation would actively support the startup ecosystem.
He said officials at all levels should work relentlessly in tandem to achieve the development goals outlined in 'Vision 2047'.
The meeting was attended by managing director and chief executive officer of the corporation Ganesh Kumar, Advisor for International Skill and Employment Affairs Seetha Sharma, executive directors of the corporation G. Anil Kumar, D. Manohar and Raghu.

NRHA Urges Full Implementation Of Maharashtra Tourism Policy 2024
1 2 Nagpur: The Nagpur Residential Hotels Association (NRHA) urged the Maharashtra govt to fully implement the 2024 Tourism Policy. Renu formally submitted its recommendations and vision document to Prashant Sawai, Deputy Director, Directorate of Tourism, Nagpur. NRHA president Tejinder Singh Renu submitted recommendations, highlighting the need for an integrated strategy. Despite rich tourism potential, Maharashtra underperforms due to slow policy execution. The policy aims to attract Rs 25,000 crore in investments and create 10 lakh jobs. Renu formally submitted its recommendations and vision document to Prashant Sawai, Deputy Director, Directorate of Tourism, Nagpur. NRHA proposes declaring Nagpur as 'Tiger Capital', legalising rooftop restaurants, and launching a tourism app. They also recommend removing the MERC stay on industrial electricity tariff benefits and forming District Tourism Promotion Committees. To track progress, NRHA suggests monitoring tourist footfall, revenue, employment, and hotel occupancy rates. With proper execution, NRHA believes Maharashtra can become a top-3 tourism destination, driving employment, rural growth, and GDP. The govt appreciated NRHA's efforts, which will contribute to the Vision 2047 document.

Thiruvananthapuram Corporation dstributes electric tricycles
The Thiruvananthapuram Corporation on Friday distributed electric tricycles to Haritha Karma Sena workers to collect non-biodegradable waste from various localities and transport it to the collection and treatment centres. Mayor Arya Rajendran flagged off the tricycles at a function held at the Corporation office. The Haritha Karma Sena members were provided one month of training to use the electric tricycles. The project was implemented with the cooperation of the Kerala Development and Innovation Strategy Council (K-DISC), Social Alpha Foundation, University of Toronto India Foundation and Kerala Institute of Local Administration (KILA). The electric tricycles was one of the novel ideas evolved through the innovation challenge held as part of the Innovations in Sustainable Urban Transition programme.
