14 June 2025 15:07 ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)The second ADEK Awards has concluded with winners across public, private, and charter schools, recognising outstanding contributions of educators and school programmes within Abu Dhabi's education on the success of the inaugural edition, the 2025 awards included 16 categories, and provides recognition and financial prizes totalling AED7 million to 33 winners, with new areas highlighting efforts in AI integration, anti-bullying initiatives, school collaboration with ADEK, and expanded recognition for early education than 500 submissions were evaluated by subject matter experts, who identified impactful initiatives and meaningful efforts that went above and beyond in creating nurturing learning environments where students can truly awards also recognised 17 schools that showcased improvement in student progress and attainment across Standardised Benchmark Assessments (SBA) in English, Math, and Science. Two foreign bank branches fined AED 18 million for regulatory breaches

The Central Bank of the UAE has issued major financial penalties against two foreign bank branches operating in the country. The first bank was fined AED 10.6 million, while the second faces a penalty of AED 7.5 million. This comes after examinations by the Central Bank uncovered violations of anti-money laundering laws and failures to comply with regulations on combating the financing of terrorism and illegal organisations. The names of the banks involved have not been disclosed by the authority. In a statement, the Central Bank said it remains committed to ensuring that all banks and their employees follow national laws and uphold the highest standards of transparency, compliance and financial integrity.
