Patna (Bihar) [India], June 21 (ANI): Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary on Saturday took a dig at the Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav, drawing parallels between the fodder scam and the iconic Bollywood film 'Deewar' starring Amitabh Bachchan.

The 2nd case pertains to embezzling of about Rs 89 lakh from the Deoghar Treasury in the 1991-94 period. Significantly, Lalu Yadav and 7 others were sentenced with 3.5 years imprisonment along with a fine of 5 lakhs each.
Earlier, Bihar Deputy CMs Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Sinha took part in the 11th International Yoga Day celebrations in Patna.
Vijay Sinha hailed Yoga and said that it has been accepted by 176 countries of the world. Sinha stated that Yoga makes the body 'pure' and 'healthy' and connects with humanity. Attacking RJD, Vijay Sinha said that people like them are trying to create an atmosphere to make Bihar 'unhealthy' and mentioned that such people are 'mentally ill'.
'Today, more than 176 countries have accepted this yoga. This yoga makes the body pure and healthy, connects humanity. Yoga always transmits positive energy. Those who are mentally ill can also become healthy through yoga, demonic tendencies can be eliminated... These people (Lalu Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav) try to create an atmosphere of making Bihar unhealthy. Such people are mentally ill', Vijay Sinha told ANI.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday took part in the 11th International Day of Yoga celebrations, where he hailed yoga as a gift 'beyond age' that transcends all boundaries and unites humanity in 'health and harmony.'
The event took place against the scenic backdrop of the Visakhapatnam coastline, with Indian Navy ships stationed near the shore, adding to the grandeur of the celebrations.
The Prime Minister praised the efforts of the Andhra Pradesh government and extended his appreciation to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan for hosting the event in Visakhapatnam. New Delhi, The CBI on Saturday searched seven locations in Bihar and Jharkhand in a 100-crore scam, allegedly executed by claiming GST through bogus export bills, with five customs officers, including the additional commissioner GST, Patna, as the main accused, officials said. The scam was exposed when an abnormal increase in exports of tiles and automobile parts to Nepal was noticed in Land Customs Stations in Jaynagar, Bhimnagar and Bhittamore during 2022-23, officials said. According to the CBI FIR, around 30 exporters have been named in it, having been accused of showing fake exports of tiles and automobile spare parts from the three LCS to get tax refund from the GST office. It is alleged that four customs superintendents, Neeraj Kumar and Manmohan Sharma in Jayanagar, and Tarun Kumar Sinha and Rajeev Ranjan Sinha in Bhimnagar, colluded with Additional Commissioner Ranvijay Kumar to extract tax refunds against fake export claims, in return for bribes. All officials, along with 30 suspected exporters, and a Kolkata-based clearing agent, Ganga Singh, have been named in the FIR as accused. The agency has alleged that fake export bills were created for amounts less than ₹ 10 lakh, which is the highest amount that a customs superintendent is allowed to clear. The CBI FIR alleged that, in all, fake exports to the tune of ₹ 800 crore were shown by these superintendents with goods carrying GST duties of 28 per cent and 18 per cent, two of the higher GST slabs, which enabled them to claim refunds of around ₹ 100 crore. The investigation also showed that the firms were not functioning from their registered address. As part of the fraud, the suspects presented 4,161 E-way bills of vehicles — two-wheelers, buses, and even ambulances. But the initial probe showed that none of the vehicles mentioned in the bills matched with the database of the SSB, the force that guards the Indo-Nepal border. The abnormal increase in exports was allegedly ignored by Ranvijay Kumar, who gave "oral instructions" to the superintendents to process Let Export Order in respect of shipping bills. Besides this, he allegedly used to pass the details of fake exports to be processed at these LCS either directly or through Ganga Singh, CBI said. After Delhi man flags use of his PAN, Aadhaar cards for fraud, two linked to GST racket arrested: Cops
When Sumit, a resident of Sagarpur in Southwest Delhi, recently applied for a Goods and Services Tax (GST) registration number using his PAN card, he was shocked to discover that two GST numbers had already been fraudulently issued in his name. These registrations, he later claimed in a police complaint, were done without his knowledge or consent, and the firms operating under the GST numbers were allegedly conducting large-scale business transactions. He also told police that a SIM card had also been issued using his Aadhaar card credentials. An investigation into the case on Friday led to the arrest of two men who were allegedly involved in a large-scale GST fraud. Identified as Inderpal (45), a lawyer, and Sandeep (27), the accused were allegedly found to be systematically generating fake GST numbers using forged documents and later utilising these firms to issue fraudulent GST bills and facilitating fraudulent tax settlements, said police. During the investigation into Sumit's complaint, the police obtained detailed information from the Goods and Services Tax Department, which confirmed that two firms were indeed registered using his PAN details. Physical verification at the registered addresses revealed that the firms were fake, prompting the officers to ramp up surveillance and technical tracking. Further probe into the case led to the identification of Sandeep, who was eventually apprehended from his hometown in Chulkana in Haryana's Panipat. Upon questioning, he allegedly revealed that he was employed by Inderpal, an advocate from Northeast Delhi's Burari, and that he had been working with him for the past seven years. According to his statement, the duo procured GST registrations using genuine identity documents, such as PAN cards, Aadhaar cards, SIM cards, and rent agreements, belonging to their unsuspecting victims. Once the firms were acquired, they would log into the GST portal, update the contact details, including mobile numbers and email addresses, and then use these accounts to issue counterfeit GST bills. 'Thereafter, based on the technical analysis, Inderpal was traced in Kairana in Shamli, Uttar Pradesh. He had absconded to Kairana after Sandeep's arrest. Inderpal was arrested in the case, and he was taken into police custody. During his sustained questioning, he disclosed that he used to procure GST firms from other associates located in Delhi for Rs 25,000-30,000 per firm. They also provided the login details and a SIM card. He also disclosed that the SIM cards were also provided by other members of the syndicate,' said DCP South West Amit Goel. The police recovered three smartphones, one laptop, and a pen drive from the possession of the accused, all of which were allegedly used in the execution of the fraud. These devices are now being forensically examined to trace the full extent of the operation and identify other members of the syndicate, said police. According to the police, Sandeep was allegedly responsible for operating the technical aspects of the fraudulent scheme, including the creation and uploading of fake bills. Inderpal, allegedly leveraging his professional status as a lawyer, handled procurement and coordination with outside associates. Their collaboration allegedly enabled them to run a seamless operation that posed a significant risk to the integrity of the GST system, said officers.
