Musical crossroads
AMERICAN actor and musician Djo, aka Joe Keery, is set to drop his third studio album The Crux tomorrow.
The synth-pop creation dives into themes of community, collaboration and character, with the concept being a hotel that houses guests who are at crossroads in their lives.
The project is expected to be a follow-up to Joe's previous release Decide (2022), which earned breakthrough success last year when the song End of Beginning became the sixth most streamed track of 2024 on Spotify, after it became viral on TikTok.
'I didn't plan for that to happen, you know? The fact that people really connect with the song is amazing. Then, to be able to sing it as a massive group is beyond my wildest dreams,' Joe said in an interview.
The artist is best known for playing Steve Harrington in the Netflix series Stranger Things.

American rock band Hotline TNT drop their third studio album Raspberry Moon tomorrow, June 20. The 11-track project is expected to deliver a tone of gratitude, featuring open-hearted love songs to oneself, other people and situations, and celebrate being at peace both, within and with one's surroundings. The theme is also reflected in the way the body of work came together, as it is the first to be fully written and recorded by all the band members. Since its establishment in 2018, frontman Will Anderson has been writing and recording all of the ensemble's music. However, he revealed, in an interview, that the creating process for the new music has also included his bandmates: guitarist Lucky Hunter, bassist Haylen Trammel and drummer Mike Ralston. Will also stated that he never intended for Hotline TNT to be a 'one-man band operation', and that he believes it was an unfortunate matter of circumstance to have done so with the previous two records. Released last month, the third single off the album titled Break Right is the first to be written and produced collaboratively with the rest of the group. 'Some songs hide their meanings behind a facade of metaphors, PR quotes and half-measures. Break Right hides nothing,' Will said. 'This is the sound of TNT becoming a band. Every effect has been unplugged, every sample has been deprogrammed and every emotion has been laid bare. You've never heard a Hotline song quite like this before,' he added.

Canelo Álvarez vs Terence Crawford Riyadh Season Showdown

NON-FICTION book How to Lose Your Mother: A Daughter's Memoir by Molly Jong-Fast is set to hit the shelves on June 10. In it, the author dives into the complicated relationship she always had with her mother, Erica Jong, a famous American novelist and poet. She also describes how watching her mother 'slipping away' due to memory loss has been affecting her; Erica, who was diagnosed with dementia, is currently residing in a retirement home. Erica Jong is best known for her 1973 novel Fear of Flying, which resonated with women who felt stuck in unfulfilling marriages and helped start a feminist movement. According to Molly, Erica never got over being famous, elaborating that she was never able to process drifting away from the public consciousness after once being an inescapable name in the media, which made her 'inaccessible'. 'I wish I had asked her why, if she loved me so much, she didn't ever want to spend time with me, but there was no way she would have ever given me a straight answer. And besides, in her view, she did spend time with me — in her head, in her writing, in the world she inhabited,' Molly said in an interview. Following in her mother's footsteps, Molly is also a writer and journalist who holds a Master's degree in Fine Arts and is the author of two novels, Normal Girl (2000) and The Social Climber's Handbook (2011).
