Report: Steelers among 5 NFL teams revealing new alternate helmets
The Steelers may be getting some new uniform options — as it was recently reported that a new helmet will be unveiled by Pittsburgh this summer.
According to Andrew Lind of SportsLogos.net, multiple sources have confirmed that the Steelers, Browns, Chargers, Commanders, and Saints will showcase new alternate helmets in July. Here's what Lind had to say about the possible designs:
"Details are limited at this time, so it's unclear if the Browns, Commanders and Saints will introduce a new shell color or simply tweak their existing alternate designs. But one thing for certain is that the Chargers and Steelers will finally add a second shell to their respective closets, leaving the Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers as the only teams without a second shell."
The 'second shell' could very well be the beloved all-gold helmets from the Steelers' 75th-anniversary uniforms — a design that would pair perfectly with Pittsburgh's current Color Rush uniforms.

Browns Issue ‘Passive' Seven-Word Message on Rookie QB Shedeur Sanders

Browns Issue 'Passive' Seven-Word Message on Rookie QB Shedeur Sanders originally appeared on Athlon Sports. There are prizes and there are pitfalls to celebrity. As the son of the legendary Deion Sanders - over the years a controversial figure in his own right - Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders surely knows this. Advertisement A projected first-round pick, Sanders' fall to Round 5 was the top story of the 2025 NFL Draft, with the view being simply that the QB wasn't worthy of the hype. He's now the fourth quarterback on Cleveland's wacky depth chart, and ideally is focused on speeding his way up that chart ... But instead ... On June 5, Sanders was ticketed for speeding, going 91 mph in a 65-mph zone. Fewer than two weeks later, on June 17, he was pulled over again for going 101 mph in a 60-mph zone. At Browns tight end Davis Njoku's charity softball event, Sanders' response to those speeding tickets went viral. 'I'm just a little boy … I made some wrong choices personally,' Sanders said. 'I gotta own up to them. I made some not-great choices. I learn from 'em. I learn. I learn.' Advertisement Wrong answer. The Browns have also responded. 'He is taking care of the tickets,' Browns spokesman Peter John-Baptiste said, per Again ... wrong answer. Shedeur's quote merits criticism. So does the Browns' by-rote seven-word address. And here's the problem with all of that, in combination with Daddy Deion's position that his kids never do anything wrong and that they have long been persecuted for being famous: Somebody needs to tell this "kid'' (Shedeur is actually 23) that motorists who drive at around 100 MPH when it's around twice the posted speed limit ... Sometimes die. Sometimes kill other people. Advertisement It that worthy of something more than Deion's deflections, Shedeur's cuteness and the Browns' auto-reply? Browns Ex-First-Rounder Involved In Trade Buzz with Eagles

Browns Ex-First-Rounder Involved In Trade Buzz with Eagles originally appeared on Athlon Sports. If the Cleveland Browns are serious about moving off of cornerback Greg Newsome II, as is rumored? It seems the defending Super Bowl champions from Philadelphia might want to move in. Advertisement Philly seems pretty stout in the secondary, with young stars like Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean, so we're not sure what the attraction to Newsome is ... Unless there is a sense that the Browns - who selected Newsome in the first round (26th overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft - simply want to give up on something that once seems special. Newsome was named to the All-Rookie Team after finishing his rookie season with 37 combined tackles and nine pass deflections in 12 games. He was good again in 2023 as he posted career-highs with 49 tackles, 14 passes defensed and two interceptions, including a big-time pick-six against Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens. But he got demoted last year, even after the Browns ended up exercising Newsome's fifth-year option worth $13.37 million guaranteed. And then got hurt, his season ending prematurely when he was placed on IR with a hamstring injury. Advertisement It is possible that Cleveland simply doesn't want to give him a contract beyond this year ... and on that note, we wonder if the Eagles really want to absorb Newsome's $13.3 million fully guaranteed contract for 2025. At just 25 years old, Newsome's best chance for success might be a change of scenery ... especially if that involves chasing a Super Bowl, something that's not likely happening in Cleveland any time soon. Shilo Sanders clowns brother Shedeur over speeding ticket drama

Shilo did Shedeur dirty. The middle Sanders son poked fun at his older brother in a new video — part of his 'Tampa Food Tour' YouTube series — when he made a joke about Shedeur's recent issues with speeding in Ohio. In the clip, Shilo is crossing a street in Tampa when he takes the jab at the Browns rookie quarterback. Advertisement Getty Images 'We out here in Tampa. We gotta be careful crossing the street, especially if Shedeur is out here,' Shilo said in the clip before making himself laugh. Shilo was, of course, referencing Shedeur's recent issues with speeding tickets, which made headlines last week. Advertisement Shedeur was stopped and cited for going 101 mph, 41 miles over the posted speed limit, on June 17 in a Cleveland suburb and had been stopped two weeks before that in another stop, where he was cited for 91 mph in a 75 mph zone. A spokesperson for the Browns told that Shedeur was 'taking care of the tickets' and that the team had addressed the citations with him. Shilo Sanders Shilo Sanders/YouTube Advertisement In body cam footage during the June 17 stop, police officers commented that he had been 'cool' with them during the interaction and that they were giving a break to the woman who was also stopped with him. During the stop, Shedeur didn't initially think he was going as fast as police said he was. 'I'm like, you were 100 percent going that fast, it's all on camera, man,' one officer could be heard telling another as he sat in the police cruiser. Advertisement Shedeur, a fifth round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, purportedly addressed the situation in a video posted on social media this week, which showed a conversation between him and teammate David Njoku's charity. 'I've made some wrong choices personally, and I can own up to them,' Shedeur said. 'I made some, you know, not great choices. … I learned.'
