🔥 Full coverage and conversation on the Met Gala
Every year, someone at the Met Gala receives the meme treatment. And this year, for better or worse, the subject of the jokes is Louis Partridge.
As well as being an actor, Louis is perhaps best known for being Olivia Rodrigo 's doting boyfriend. And though his popstar GF wasn't in attendance at last night's red carpet, Louis still wound up being the talk of social media — all thanks to his fedora-style hat.
In Louis's defence, his look was very much in keeping with the Met's dress code for the night, which was 'Tailored for You.' However, whether or not the outfit was tailored for him or an array of fictional characters remains up for debate.
Among the viral reactions on X, my favorites were those where people said Louis's outfit looked like something that may have been worn by Chuck Bass on Gossip Girl.
While plenty of others thought he was giving Ryan Evans energy, which is honestly an elite compliment. (High School Musical Met Gala theme, when?)
The hat also kind of looks like it could've been stolen from Ne-Yo, another well-known jaunty hat enthusiast.
And for those less familiar with the works of Ne-Yo, there were also a few Michael Jackson 'Smooth Criminal' jokes in there, too.
In fact, the more I scrolled, the funnier it got. So I'm gonna just leave the rest of these here for you to enjoy…
Not everyone can make a hat work, but I have to say that Louis pulled it off better than most. I am simply dying to know Olivia's thoughts.

Ashley Tisdale Explains Why Sharpay Evans Wasn't the ‘Popular Girl' in 'High School Musical' (Exclusive)

Ashley Tisdale, 39, told PEOPLE that she doesn't think her High School Musical character Sharpay Evans was the 'popular girl' The actress said that playing Sharpay as though she thought she was popular is what helped make the character 'so funny' 'What's so funny is that she's not the popular girl. She's the drama queen,' she explained of SharpayAshley Tisdale is spilling the tea on what she thinks made her High School Musical character so iconic. Tisdale, 39, who played musical theater queen bee Sharpay Evans in the hit Disney franchise, recently caught up with PEOPLE and she exclusively shared what she thought was 'so funny' about the role. 'When I played the character of Sharpay — I think it was probably what made her so funny — was that I truly thought [Sharpay] was the popular girl in school. I thought Sharpay was popular, and I played it like she was popular,' Tisdale recalls. 'And [director] Kenny Ortega enhanced that. He really made me feel like I was popular. But what's so funny is that she's not the popular girl. She's the drama queen. And my husband's like, 'That's what's so funny about how you played it. You really thought you were popular,' ' she continues. The actress also shared how it feels 'so cool' to see the character find new life on social media and in meme culture. 'Sharpay is — I swear she's mother to everybody — because it's like she just keeps coming back on these memes and people keep talking and doing the songs,' she says. 'And I'm just like, I mean, out of everyone in High School Musical, my character is the most iconic. It's so cool.' Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. Tisdale — who also voices Candace Flynn in the hit animated series Phineas and Ferb — went on to say how lucky she feels to have been a part of multiple franchises that have reached cult status. 'I mean, it's so cool … It's really awesome to be a part of these projects that have really been so prevalent in pop culture and to play these characters," she adds. "It's just, you're like, 'Dang, man.' I can't believe out of everything that I auditioned for [...] I got this animation [series] that has lasted this long. Or I was always trying to get a Disney movie, and never got the movie. And then, I got High School Musical. " 'Out of all the ones, I get that. This is pretty awesome,' she says. High School Musical became one of the most successful Disney Channel Original movies of all time. It generated two popular sequel films, the third of which was released in theaters in 2008 and earned more than $250 million worldwide at the box office, per Variety. High School Musical 3: Senior Year marked the biggest opening weekend for a musical film up until that point (though it was eventually eclipsed by Les Misérables in 2012). Shakira's Tour Cancellations Are Helping Her On The Charts

Despite several show cancellations, Shakira enjoys a Billboard boost as Donde Estan Los Ladrones and ... More Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran return to the charts. NEW YORK, NEW YORK - MAY 05: Shakira attends the 2025 Met Gala Celebrating "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style" at Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 05, 2025 in New York City. (Photo byfor The Met Museum/Vogue) Shakira is currently traveling across America, performing dates on the U.S. leg of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour. The Latin superstar has been in the news lately after several shows on the trek were canceled, disappointing fans in cities like Boston and Washington, D.C. It's never good for a major artist to pull out of scheduled performances — especially at the last minute — as it impacts thousands of people. Shakira does appear to be the beneficiary of an unintended consequence stemming from her unfortunate moves. Two of Shakira's projects return to the Billboard charts this week. While the tour alone might have been enough to keep her on several rankings, the fact that multiple efforts reappear simultaneously on various lists suggests the headline-grabbing cancellations may have driven listeners back to some of her full-lengths, likely via streaming platforms like Spotify. Two Shakira Albums Return Donde Estan Los Ladrones marks Shakira's highest-ranking return this week, as it reenters the Top Latin Pop Albums chart at No. 25. Over on the Top Latin Albums list, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran reappears at No. 36. Four Shakira Projects Chart in America There are four different Shakira projects that appear on at least one Billboard tally in America this week. Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran also climbs from No. 6 to the runner-up spot on the Top Latin Pop Albums roster, nearly laying claim to the top spot once more. Shakira fills four spots on the Top Latin Pop Albums chart this frame. In addition to Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran almost reaching No. 1 and Donde Estan Los Ladrones returning, Sala El Sol and El Dorado hold steady at Nos. 9 and 11, respectively.

Miley Cyrus's New Album Suffers A Terrible Second Week On The Charts

Miley Cyrus's Something Beautiful drops from No. 4 to No. 102 on the Billboard 200 in its second ... More week, with massive declines in sales and streams. NEW YORK, NEW YORK - MAY 05: Miley Cyrus attends the 2025 Met Gala Celebrating "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style" at Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 05, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by) Miley Cyrus debuted her new album Something Beautiful across a variety of Billboard rankings last week, and the highly-anticipated set opened inside the top 10 on most tallies. Just days later, the title has vanished from a number of lists and dropped precipitously on the most important albums chart in the United States, suggesting that beyond her super fans, there isn't yet a sustained interest in the pop superstar's latest release. Something Beautiful Drops Almost 100 Spots Something Beautiful launched at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 last week, earning Cyrus another career top 10. In its second frame on the ranking of the most consumed full-lengths and EPs in America, it descends nearly 100 spaces, dropping to No. 102. The collection initially arrived with 44,300 equivalent units. In its second frame of availability, it shifted just 12,000 (per Luminate) — marking a 73% decline in terms of total consumption from one frame to the next. Miley Cyrus's New Album Declines 84% in Sales The project experiences a much softer decline in terms of position on the Top Album Sales chart. Something Beautiful debuted in the runner-up space on Billboard's list of the bestselling titles in the country with 27,000 purchases. This time around, it drops to No. 18, selling another 4,300 copies. That's a decline of 84%, but that kind of a change isn't entirely shocking. Purchases of an album are usually at their most impressive during the title's first frame of availability, and even some long-running successes experience drastic dips in pure purchases. Backtracking on the Billboard 200 — which also includes streaming activity — suggests that many people not only stopped buying Something Beautiful, but also stopped streaming the title after only a few days. Miley Cyrus Vanishes from the Hot 100 Cyrus is nowhere to be found on several other Billboard tallies where she appeared just a few days ago. Something Beautiful has completely vacated both the Vinyl Albums and Top Streaming Albums charts. She also no longer appears on the Hot 100 with any tracks from Something Beautiful. "Easy Lover" debuted last frame at No. 82, but neither that tune nor the lead single "End of the World" — which peaked at No. 52 — can be found at the moment.
