Minnesota Vikings joint practices confirmed ahead of training camp
The Minnesota Vikings will be hosting joint practices at TCO Performance Center this year, and there will be some interesting storylines that come with them.
The New England Patriots, led by Mike Vrabel, will come to town. It will be Vrabel's first year as the Patriots' head coach, returning to the place where he won three Super Bowls as a linebacker from 2001-08. Vrabel served as a consultant with the Cleveland Browns in 2024 after being fired from the Tennessee Titans following the 2023 season.

Vrabel and Kevin O'Connell's careers overlapped in 2008, O'Connell's first and only season with the Patriots after being drafted in the third round. Brian Flores was on the staff from 2004-18, also overlapping with Vrabel.
We also get to see J.J. McCarthy face off with fellow 2024 first-round quarterback Drake Maye, the third-overall pick. The Vikings had a serious interest in Maye going into the draft, seeking a trade to the top of the draft. Can McCarthy show that they came away with the right quarterback?
The joint practices are set for Aug. 13 and 14 at 2:30 PM CST. The two teams will then play at U.S. Bank Stadium for their second preseason game on Aug. 16 at Noon CST.

Eli Manning 'jumps' Tom Brady at Fanatics Fest
Tom Brady made quite the entrance at Fanatics Fest on Friday in New York. He discarded and spat on a New York Jets jersey while walking the walk to WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes' entrance music. Brady then took a New York Giants Eli Manning No. 10 jersey and ripped that in half. He continued his heel march only to be jumped from behind by the former New York Giants QB, who bested Brady twice in Super Bowls. Eventually, calm was restored the the quarterbacks played a game of catch to the thrilled throng at the New York event.

Tennessee Reacts To Exciting Peyton Manning News
Tennessee Reacts To Exciting Peyton Manning News originally appeared on Athlon Sports. There's no doubt that throughout his 18-year career in the NFL (1998-2015), former quarterback Peyton Manning established himself as one of the best players in league history. Advertisement Of course, since retiring, he's already earned several different honors, including being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and having his jersey retired by the Indianapolis Colts, but on Wednesday, he earned another. ESPN announced he was one of three quarterbacks selected, along with Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes, for their "NFL All Quarter Century team," which picked 53 of the best players in the league based on production since 2000. That caught the attention of the Tennessee Volunteers, where he spent his collegiate years, who took to social media with their post to congratulate the legendary quarterback. There's no doubt that Manning is worthy of this achievement, because from 2000-2015, he completed 5,468-of-8,272 passes for 64,066 yards, 487 touchdowns, 208 interceptions and a 98.6 passer rating. Advertisement In that time, he was also named to 13 Pro Bowls, earned First-Team All-Pro honors seven times, won five MVP Awards (most in NFL history), Offensive Player of the Year twice and two Super Bowls (one with the Denver Broncos and one with the Colts) Though maybe none of this success would have been possible if not for the four years with Tennessee, where he finished within the top 10 of Heisman Trophy voting three times and earned All-America honors in his senior season. NFL Draft Summer Scouting Report: Justin Joly, TE, NC State
Summer is here, and it is everyone's favorite time of the year, scouting time. Every year, we do Summer Scouting to preview college football for Vikings fans, but also give them an idea of names to follow and watch in the fall as needs pop up for Minnesota. Are we going to write about quarterbacks? You know it, but why? Because other NFL teams will draft them, just as they will draft every other position. It all matters whether these players end up on the Vikings, the Bears, or the Steelers. We write these so Vikings fans can be the most informed fans. So if you are still with us, enjoy our latest Summer Scouting report as we prepare you for the Fall. Player Information Player: Justin Joly School: NC State Height/Weight: 6-3/235 lbs. Player Background - 2-Star Recruit - Transfer from UConn - 2024 Preseason Mackey Award Watchlist Career Stats Heading into the 2025 Season - 117 Receptions - 1,489 Receiving Yards - 12.7 Yards Per Reception - 8 Touchdowns Notable PFF Numbers Heading into the 2025 Season - 73.5 PFF Receiving Grade - 62.4 PFF Blocking Grade - 6.2 Yards per Reception After Contact - 1.79 Yards Per Route Run - Average Depth of Target 8.6 Yards - 26 Contested Catches Player Traits - Good release off the line - Tracks the ball well in the air - Makes contested catches - Good burst and ball carrier vision - Footwork and hips allow separation Player Summary Justin Joly does not have the typical appearance of a tight end when you see him on film or on screen. He lines up both in-line and out, and NC State gets the most out of him that way. He demonstrates good movement abilities with and without the ball in his hands due to his footwork and hip speed. On top of that, the way he attacks the ball in the air and makes contested catches will make him a fun watch this fall and beyond. He may not be a top-end tight end prospect when the draft rolls around, but do not doubt his playmaking ability for a second.
