Yoga Day prep stresses youth participation
Lucknow: This year's
World Yoga Day
is being marked by two campaigns. 'Yoga Unplugged' is aimed at youth participation in the event, while 'Harit Yoga', focuses on environmental sustainability.
Yoga Day is on Jun 21 but is marked by week-long activities in the state.
A major initiative will be to popularise yoga as a way of life, for which yoga parks are being developed across the state, with participation of local bodies such as municipalities and gram panchayats.
A govt spokesperson said three yoga parks will be developed in districts with divisional headquarters and two in all other districts. District magistrates have been instructed to identify suitable sites, formulate plans in coordination with department of urban development and forward plans to govt.
"Each park will be developed with a green, clean and peaceful environment, accessible to all sections of society. The parks will include facilities such as trained yoga instructors, open gyms, resting spaces, clean drinking water and adequate lighting. The aim is to create inclusive public spaces where citizens of all ages, including senior citizens, women and youth, can gather for regular yoga practice," the official said.

Meanwhile, under 'Yoga Unplugged', govt will organise creative, competitive and social media-driven events to ensure youth participation. The campaign is being run across govt AYUSH colleges, vocational training institutes, universities, and degree colleges in a bid to reach out to students directly. Events under the programme will include elocution contests on benefits of yoga and mental well-being, live yoga demonstrations by students showcasing various asanas and meditation techniques, rangoli, debate and poster-making contests highlighting relevance of yoga, award ceremonies to honour top performers at the state level and social media promotion of events, visuals and results using hashtags like #YogaUnplugged.
Harit Yoga campaign will strive to bring together discipline of yoga with conservation of nature, spreading the idea that "true yoga is harmony of self-discipline and environmental protection". The message will be reinforced through open-air yoga sessions at scenic natural sites like riverbanks, lakesides, parks, and Amrit Sarovars, plantation drives at every yoga gathering, cleanliness campaigns before and after yoga events by students and local residents, and community involvement through participation by panchayats, local bodies, NSS/NCC cadets and school children.

Yoga Day marks confluence of cultural and architectural heritage
Yoga, which is recognised by the UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage, unfolded at heritage sites in a blend of the living tradition of spiritual growth and wellness, with the architectural legacy of India, on Saturday. The International Day of Yoga was held at the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Keshava temple at Somanathapur in Mysuru district, Hoysaleshwara temple complex at Halebid in Hassan district, and at the Dariya Daulat Bagh, the summer palace of Tipu Sultan, in Srirangapatna, Mandya district. An official from the Archaeological Survey of India said that yoga day celebrations used to be conducted at various heritage sites in the past as well. But this year, it was conducted on a larger scale as it was the 11the edition of the International Day of Yoga. In Somanathapur, the Yoga Day unfolded against the backdrop of 13th-century Keshava temple, which was built during the Hoysala period, and is renowned for ornate sculptures and unique architectural style. The event was organised under the supervision of staff from Regional Institute of Education, Mysuru, representatives from Archaeological Survey of India, and there were about 750 participants in all. The Yoga Day was also celebrated on the Halebid museum premises within the Hoysaleshwara temple complex. In Srirangapatna, the event was organised in the sprawling gardens of Dariya Daulat Bagh which is a protected monument under the ASI. MLA Ramesh Bandisidde Gowda, ASI official A. Sunil and others led the event, and there were nearly 350 participants, including students from Government PU College and High School. Mr. Sunil said arrangements were made for viewing the Yoga Day celebrations led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Vishakapatnam, on giant LCD screens. The yoga performance commenced soon after and followed the common yoga protocol issued by the Ministry of Ayush. The theme for this year's event was 'Yoga for One Earth One Health'. Apart from yoga in heritage sites, the event was organised across the region including in educational and government institutions. In Mandya, the district administration conducted the event at the PET cricket grounds. Deputy Commissioner Kumar said that India has become synonymous with yoga and described it as a slice or a symbol of the country's culture. He underlined the importance of incorporating yoga into one's lifestyle to reap its health benefits. Purushotamananda Swami of Adi Chunchanagiri Mutt Educational Trust said yoga should not be confined to one day in a year, but should be part of one's lifestyle. Trinetra Mahant Shivayogi of Chandravan Ashram said yoga day was an Indian festival celebrated across the world. Cancer, Weekly Horoscope, June 22 to June 28: Practical Finances, Family Balance, and Unexpected Support
Cancer natives should focus on balancing resources and avoiding overexertion early in the week. Midweek brings opportunities for investments and social engagement, enhancing persuasiveness. The week concludes with fulfillment in studies and career, potential romantic proposals, and favorable conditions for long-term financial investments, fostering harmony within the household. Cancer natives, the week begins with a focus on balancing resources, handling both income and expenditure with a practical mindset. Early in the week, there's a call for moderation—long journeys or major purchases should be postponed, and it's best to avoid overextending yourself. Domestic and family life may come with subtle undercurrents, but you'll find support from classmates or younger acquaintances if you're pursuing education or professional development. Midweek energy brings auspicious windows for investments and social engagement. Your speech becomes charming and persuasive, attracting positive attention from peers and even strangers. Be prepared for guests or unexpected social calls at home; your hospitality and openness could lead to new alliances or friendships. Still, a gentle warning: don't push your limits or ignore your health, as exertion may sap your energy. By the end of the week, the mood lifts dramatically. Fulfillment dominates: students and professionals shine in their pursuits, superiors and colleagues recognize your efforts, and if you're unmarried, romantic proposals may come from the social or familial circle. The week closes with a blend of harmony, fresh respect, and opportunities to invest for the long term, all while the household finds its center. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Tabletă Puternică la Preț Incredibil - Oferta Limitată! LUO Cumpără acum Undo Love and Relationship Relationships see a progression from mild tension to deeper connection and joy. At the start, emotional equilibrium may be tested, particularly with a spouse—miscommunications or differences of opinion could cause friction. If you're single, you may feel preoccupied with financial matters or distracted by family responsibilities. As the week progresses, you become more magnetic, and your interactions, particularly with the opposite sex, are marked by kindness and eloquence. Love deepens for those in established partnerships, and single Cancers might encounter romantic prospects during family events or community gatherings. Toward the weekend, harmony blossoms—cooperation and affection thrive, and unmarried natives may be delighted by proposals or confessions from someone in their circle. Education and Career The academic and professional landscape for Cancer is nuanced this week. Early days require caution: don't be swayed by distractions or sudden opportunities. Classmates or colleagues may prove unexpectedly helpful, lending a hand or offering wise advice. If you're considering real estate or career moves, wait until the midweek before making commitments. Midweek, your intellectual prowess peaks. This is an auspicious time for students, educators, or anyone needing to speak persuasively—whether for presentations, interviews, or negotiations. Recognition comes from superiors, and businesspeople see orders increase or gain from speculation and calculated risks. The end of the week solidifies your gains; success is tangible, and you'll close projects or studies with distinction. Money and Finance Financially, Cancer must balance the urge to spend with the necessity of saving. Early in the week, avoid unnecessary expenditures—hold back on large purchases and keep track of outflows to prevent imbalances. However, midweek is ripe for investment, particularly in assets that promise long-term benefits or can support you during leaner periods. Unexpected sources of money may arrive via social connections or family ties, and those involved in speculation or trading could see returns from carefully considered risks. The week's end is the best time to consider fixed deposits or mutual funds, securing your financial position for the future. Health and Well-being Health for Cancer this week requires a steady, conscious approach. Early days could bring mild physical or emotional fatigue, so it's vital not to ignore your body's signals. Overexertion or neglecting rest can set you back, so carve out time for relaxation. As the week moves forward, mental clarity and energy improve—socializing, laughter, and positive feedback will all contribute to your well-being. Remember to eat moderately, hydrate, and get enough sleep, especially if you're attending frequent gatherings or hosting guests. By the end of the week, both mind and body will be refreshed, leaving you ready to embrace the next phase with renewed vigor.
