'Yes, you did that Tay': Selena Gomez reacts to Taylor Swift winning back rights to her 6 albums
New York [US], May 31 (ANI): Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift's friendship is the kind we all dream of--a perfect example of 'best friend goals.'
Gomez, on Friday, took to her Instagram Story to cheer for her bestie Swift and showed just how "proud" she was after the singer confirmed that she finally owns the masters of her first six albums.
Sharing her excitement, Selena wrote, "YES, YOU DID THAT, TAY. SO PROUD!"
Earlier that day, Swift posted on Instagram to confirm the news. The singer shared three pictures of herself sitting on the floor, smiling, and surrounded by her early albums. She wore a light purple top, jeans, and her signature red lipstick. Along with the pictures, Swift added a caption that read, "You belong with me," referencing her 2008 hit from the album Fearless.
According to People, almost six years ago, Swift's music catalogue was sold to music executive Scooter Braun without her approval. Braun later sold it to Shamrock Capital. In response, Swift began re-recording her albums with "Taylor's Version" to take back ownership of her work.
Gomez and Swift have been close friends since 2008, when they met through the Jonas Brothers. In past interviews, Gomez has spoken fondly of their bond. "We actually dated the Jonas Brothers together! It was hysterical," Gomez said in 2017, during an interview with KISS FM UK, People reported.
"It was amazing because [Taylor] was the girl with the big curly hair, all the bracelets, and the cowboy boots. And I was definitely up-and-coming, and we just clicked," the "Good For You" singer said -- before she jokingly added, "It was the best thing we got out of those relationships." (ANI)

"It was a film that went against the trend...": Neeraj Panday opens up on how 'A Wednesday' shaped his journey
New Delhi [India], June 23 (ANI): The action-thriller 'A Wednesday,' released in 2008, continues to strike a chord with audiences, even more than a decade after its release. Directed by Neeraj Pandey, the movie marked his debut as a filmmaker and went on to become a strong and meaningful film that won both awards and hearts. Now, years later, Neeraj Pandey has opened up about how A Wednesday shaped his journey as a storyteller, discussing the impact it had on him and how it made him feel more 'responsible' and 'accountable' in his future projects. While speaking to ANI, the filmmaker shared that A Wednesday was a project that went 'against the trend'--whether it was the style, the casting, or the subject. However, the love and support from the audience gave him the confidence to trust his stories. 'It is very interesting that you are asking this question because it's been so many years, and there has not been a single press conference in my life where, you know, it doesn't go back to my first film. And the only way I can sum up how it shaped me is that, when you're making your debut film, you're doing it with actors you believe in. The film goes against the trend. The format goes against the trend. The actors and the casting go against the trend,' said Pandey. 'But when you see that there is an audience waiting to watch that particular film--and not just watching, but loving it and encouraging you with lots of love and blessings--it just goes to show that you feel more responsible as a storyteller. You try to be more accountable with every film, every story you make. And that's the path that was charted with the release of A Wednesday,' he added. 'A Wednesday' starred Anupam Kher as a police commissioner on the verge of retirement. The plot follows his tense encounter with a common man, played by Naseeruddin Shah, who holds the city hostage to get justice in his own way. The film received wide critical acclaim and was produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Shital Bhatia, and Anjum Rizvi. It won several awards and is often praised for its tight script, strong performances, and relevant message. (ANI)

Restored 'Sholay' version with original ending, deleted scenes to premiere in Italy; Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra react
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], June 23 (ANI): The legendary Bollywood epic 'Sholay' will receive a special 50th anniversary tribute with the world premiere of its fully restored, uncut version at the Il Cinema Ritrovato Festival in Bologna, Italy. The screening will take place on June 27 at the large open-air Piazza Maggiore, known for hosting memorable film events. Originally released in 1975, Sholay became a cult favourite in Indian cinema, thanks to its powerful story, characters, and action scenes. Directed by Ramesh Sippy, the film featured Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Jaya Bhaduri, and Amjad Khan, and went on to become a cultural phenomenon. The restored version is the result of a three-year collaboration between the Film Heritage Foundation and Sippy Films Pvt. Ltd. For the first time, viewers will be able to see the film with its original ending and previously deleted scenes that were missing from the version that was widely shown in theatres. As per a press release, Amitabh Bachchan, while sharing his thoughts said, 'Some things in life remain permanently etched in your mind. Sholay is one such film. Shooting for the film was an unforgettable experience, but at the time I had no idea that it would be a watershed for Indian cinema. Its dramatic change in fortunes from being declared an unsuccessful venture, to its record-breaking box office run was an emotional rollercoaster for all of us. It's wonderful that the Film Heritage Foundation has restored 'Sholay' and that they have managed to locate and include the original ending as well as some deleted scenes in the restoration.I hope that even 50 years later, the film will capture the imagination of new audiences across the world.' Dharmendra said, 'Sholay is the 8th wonder of the world. I am thrilled to hear that the film is being restored and I am sure it will have the same success as it had 50 years ago. Who can forget the dialogues of Salim-Javed and the direction of Ramesh Sippy? So many scenes have gone down in the history of Indian cinema and every character became a star. But the real hero was the coin. Few people know that I was offered the role of Gabbar and Thakur, but I was clear that I wanted to play the role of Veeru as he is so much like me. I had so much fun on the shoot. My favourite scenes were the tanki scene, the scene in the temple, and so many others, but the most powerful scene I feel was the death of Jai, which is still etched in my mind.' The restoration project involved working with rare materials found in film archives in Mumbai and London, and the final version was created with the help of experts in Italy and support from the British Film Institute. The film will be shown in a 2.2:1 aspect ratio, with restored sound and visuals. (ANI)
