Jennifer Lawrence stirs Oscar talk in Cannes for 'Die, My Love'
CANNES, France — Last year, the Cannes Film Festival produced three best actress nominees at the Oscars. This year's edition may have just supplied another.
In Lynne Ramsay's 'Die, My Love,' Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson play a married couple with a newborn who move into an old country house. In Ramsay's messy and moving marital psychodrama, Lawrence plays an increasingly unhinged young mother named Grace whose postpartum depression reaches darkly hallucinatory extremes.

Jon Bernthal's Punisher Officially Joins SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY! — GeekTyrant
Jon Bernthal is officially bringing the Punisher into Spider-Man: Brand New Day ! The next installment in Tom Holland's Spidey saga. Frank Castle is actually stepping into the Sony/Marvel Spider-Verse, and this is for real, and it's awesome! The film, which begins shooting this summer in England, will be directed by Shang-Chi 's Destin Daniel Cretton and is set to hit theaters July 31, 2026. Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are expected to return as MJ and Ned, and Stranger Things breakout Sadie Sink has joined the cast in an undisclosed role. The story picks up after the reality-resetting events of No Way Home , where no one remembers Peter Parker is Spider-Man. That gives the narrative a clean slate, and apparently a perfect window to drop in Marvel's most brutal antihero. Bernthal's take on Frank Castle was first introduced in Netflix's Daredevil series and later spun off into The Punisher . He recently returned in Disney+'s Daredevil: Born Again, and not only is he starring in Season 2—he's also co-writing a solo Punisher special. So yeah, the man is in. This new crossover has been years in the making, even if unintentionally. Bernthal and Tom Holland actually helped each other score their Marvel gigs while working together on the 2017 film Pilgrimage. Bernthal told Jimmy Kimmel Live: 'We did a film about seven or eight years ago. That was where both Tom did his audition for Spider-Man and I did my audition for Punisher. We actually made each other's audition tapes on that film.' He even had a hand in giving Holland some iconic Spider-Man flair: 'I gave him the note, 'Tom, maybe you should run up that wall and do a double backflip and then start the scene.' And he was like, 'Yeah, you think I should do that? That's not too much?' I was like, 'I don't think any of these other fools are able to do that,' and he in fact did that.' Now, after years of parallel stories, they're finally sharing the screen in the MCU. With Peter navigating a world that doesn't know who he is, and Castle never caring much for red tape, the dynamic between these two could be explosive. We don't know exactly how the Punisher will fit into Brand New Day , but I can't wait to see how this comes together! One's a neighborhood-friendly hero trying to stay under the radar. The other's a walking storm of gunpowder and grief. Whatever happens, it won't be boring. Source: Deadline

Ralph Lauren Spring 2026 Menswear Collection
Even as the USA's reputational stock falters, global regard for Ralph Lauren—the most all-American of American brands—is on the up: Vogue Business last month reported the company's sales in Europe and China had increased 12 per cent and 9 per cent respectively in the fiscal year 2025. That uptick means that the majority of the company's total $7.1 billion of revenue for the same period was generated beyond the Land of The Free. So during a period where luxury more broadly has also been faltering, how has RL been bucking the trend two-fold? This evening's Ralph Lauren Purple Label pointed to at least part of an answer. Once you'd steered beyond the vintage car in the courtyard, the presentation was split into two sections. The first cluster of looks were garments for an idealized version of the New York Yacht Club: wearable American magic. Navy washed against white on a piped terry boating blazer worn with a bengal stripe shirt and cravat over pleated linen shorts and ankle-strapped espadrilles. A four-button (silver) navy double breasted blazer with ersatz branded club badge was commodore-level quality. Thickly woven textured silk navy short sleeve shirting and drop shoulder color block knits, or classic Ralph (via the Marylebone Cricket Club) cable-knit sweaters all added to the breezy feel. The next section, housed in the brand's Milan palazzo's first-floor courtyard, was a tonal triumph. Of the maybe 25-strong cast of globally-sourced heartthrobs, around 23 wore shades running from the pale khaki of a game-pouched fishing jacket over a safari shirt and action pant to the richly-burnished, nutty brown of a distressed leather flight jacket with complementarily-strapped pilot's watch. From the slubby silk linen windowpane check field jackets to the tailored linen takes on mid-century military shirting via the darker interjections of art-deco intarsia tuxedo jackets, these were clothes for sophisticated yet unstuffy heroes. The jaunty cravats and woven short sleeve shirting recalled Cary Grant as John Robie The Cat; the masterful khakis were slimmed down Hemingway fare for living large on The Keys; and the flight jacket and tux were prime Pitt and Clooney material. Lauren has always said he designs cinematically: this was American luxury that evoked a reassuring, aspirational, and highly-idealized version of its homeland—and which seemed all the more desirable thanks to that vision's current distance from reality.

June 17th, 1994 (2010) June 17, 1994 — a day that will live in infamy. The day began as one of celebration in the sports world.
