What to Watch This Weekend (June 7-8): 10 Best New Movies and Shows to Stream Now (Including a Show That'll Have You Locked in For Weeks!)
You really have to buckle in this time because this is a busy week in the world of streaming and movies!
This weekend, June 7-8, we have the usual summer blockbuster action movies and returns of beloved shows, but also something new: two exciting Broadway-related events for those who are theatrically inclined (I'm looking at you, any secret Gleeks!).
More par for the course, Netflix also has a juicy, highly anticipated drama, and Peacock is giving the people what they want: a show that will give you an excuse to not leave your couch for approximately six weeks (like, actually).
And there's more! Here's a list of the 10 best new movies and shows to watch this weekend and where to stream them.
Move aside Black Widow, we have a new trained woman assassin in the mix — and she's no superhero. Ana de Armas stars as ballerina-assassin Eve Macarro, who is hellbent on getting revenge on her father's killers in Ballerina.
A spinoff of the John Wick action series, Ballerina takes place between the events of the third and fourth movie, the latter of which came out in 2023.
Ballerina releases in theaters on June 6.
Just as the title suggests, this movie is about the life of a man named Chuck, played by a cheery Tom Hiddleston, and takes place over three eras in his life, from childhood to adulthood.
In addition to a starry cast, the film features a 7-minute dance number by Hiddleston, who told PEOPLE he found filming the scene "spontaneous and joyful."
The Life of Chuck releases in theaters on June 6.
If you thought this show couldn't get any crazier ... you couldn't be more wrong. Georgia is awaiting her murder trial, Ginny faces teen pregnancy and their relationship is going through its usual ups and downs.
The specific details are even crazier, but we don't want to spoil! Rest assured, if you're looking for a rollercoaster ride (but not the Six Flags kind), this is the right binge for you.
Watch season 3 of Ginny & Georgia on Netflix.
We at PEOPLE are SAT for this show, and we highly recommend that you be too. If you're ready to commit to over a month of new episodes six days a week, then buckle in because Love Island USA is back!
After a steamy sixth season, the beloved show is back for season 7 — and the drama is already piping hot. This time around, viewers will be transported to the tropical coasts of Fiji to watch hot bombshells play with each other's love lives.
Watch new episodes of season 7 of Love Island USA on Peacock.
Taraji P. Henson is a single mother on her last straw in Tyler Perry's Straw. The poor woman's day gets crazier and crazier as she goes from being evicted to being blamed for a bank robbery — and all she wants is to cash a check for her daughter.
Now, her survival depends on trusting a sympathetic police officer (Teyana Taylor) and a soothing friend (Sherri Shepherd).
Watch Straw on Netflix.
If you're a longtime Housewives fan then you'll be just as nostalgic as we are that the kids of our favorite ladies are all grown up — and ready to follow in their parents' footsteps.
Bringing together Housewife favorite celebrity kids like Gia Giudice and Brooks Marks, Next Gen NYC follows a group of reality TV nepo babies and their friends as they live out their 20s in New York (and yes, maybe we're secretly clamoring for an invite ... ).
Watch new episodes of Next Gen NYC on Tuesdays on Bravo and next day on Peacock.
People are clearly super into predators as the ninth installment in the Predators franchise was released on Hulu on June 6 — and this one is taking fans way back. Like to the Vikings and feudal Japan back, because every era in history has predators right? How fun!
In all seriousness, this animated anthology jumps across three time zones, ending in World War II, and sets up how predators have been coming to Earth for centuries to prove their competency through battle.
Watch Predator: Killer of Killers on Hulu.
AppleTV+ loves an underdog sports story, and Stick is no different, starring Owen Wilson as Pryce 'Stick' Cahill.
Stick is a former professional golfer whose career ended after he had a very public mental breakdown on the course. When he comes across an amateur teen who he's convinced has what it takes to make it, Stick is reinvigorated and ready to coach him to a championship — but it's, naturally, not as easy as it seems.
Watch Stick on AppleTV+.
We're ending this week's list with two exciting live events in the Broadway world! First up, the 78th Annual Tony Awards are taking place this Sunday, celebrating the best in theater.
This year marks many of the nominees' Broadway debuts, including George Clooney and Nicole Scherzinger, who are up for two of the most prestigious awards of the night. Other nominees include Mia Farrow, Sadie Sink, Sarah Snook, and Jonathan Groff, while Broadway veteran Cynthia Erivo is set to host the special night.
Watch the Tony Awards live at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+.
For the first time in Broadway history, a play will be aired live on broadcast as Clooney takes his penultimate bow in Good Night, and Good Luck.
The 5-time Tony-nominated show, which is based off the 2005 movie of the same name, will end its run on Sunday, June 7 — and give fans who didn't get a chance to nab their ticket one last chance to watch it live before final curtain.
Watch Good Night, and Good Luck live on CNN and CNN.com and streaming live on Max.

Is ‘FUBAR' returning for season 3? Everything we know so far
By Aman Shukla Published on June 23, 2025, 19:30 IST Last updated June 23, 2025, 14:00 IST Alright, FUBAR fans, time to talk about that Netflix show with Arnold Schwarzenegger kicking butt and bickering with his spy daughter. Season 2 hit in 2025, and now everybody's buzzing: is Season 3 a go or a no? Here's the lowdown on what's up with FUBAR, scraped from the latest chatter. What's FUBAR All About? If you haven't binged it yet, FUBAR is this wild ride where Arnie plays Luke, a CIA dude ready to kick back and retire, only to find out his daughter Emma (Monica Barbaro) is also a secret agent. Season 1, dropped in 2023, was pure gold with explosions and dad jokes. Season 2? Kinda divisive. Some loved it, others called it a snooze. Still, fans want more. Is FUBAR Season 3 Happening? Right now, Netflix hasn't given the green light for FUBAR Season 3. There's no official word, and that's got fans on edge. A post floating around on X claimed Season 2's viewership tanked by 80% compared to Season 1, hinting the show might be on the chopping block. But hold up—there's no hard proof from Netflix or the showrunners to back that up. X posts can be shaky, so don't take them as gospel. For now, it's a waiting game. Why Could Season 3 Still Happen? Even without confirmation, there's hope for more FUBAR . Here's why: Arnold's a Big Deal : Schwarzenegger's name alone pulls in viewers. His TV comeback is a huge win for Netflix, and they might not want to let that go. Loyal Fans : People are rooting for the show. On X, one fan begged for Season 3, shouting out the cast—like Fortune Feimster—and Arnie's epic action-hero energy. Loose Ends : Season 2 left some big questions unanswered. I won't spoil it, but the finale screams for a follow-up. Netflix's Playbook: Sometimes Netflix keeps shows alive if they have a solid fanbase, even if numbers dip. FUBAR could still have enough juice for another round. What's Next? Until Netflix spills the beans, FUBAR Season 3 is up in the air. Fans can help by streaming the heck out of Seasons 1 and 2 and hyping it online. Keep an eye out for news, and fingers crossed we'll see Luke back in action. Cruz Beckham Mocks Brooklyn Beckham's Career Amid Feud
After literal years of speculation, it seems like the rumored tension between Brooklyn Beckham, his wife Nicola Peltz Beckham, and the rest of the Beckham family has reached a boiling point. For context, David and Victoria Beckham share three sons: Brooklyn, 26, Romeo, 22, and Cruz, 20, along with a 13-year-old daughter named Harper Seven. In 2022, when Brooklyn married Nicola, there were rumors of a big fallout between Nicola and Victoria. And while Nicola denied this was the case, there have since been several signs suggesting that the Peltz Beckhams are still at odds with Brooklyn's side of the family. For starters, Brooklyn and Nicola didn't attend a single one of David's 50th birthday celebrations earlier this year, nor did they acknowledge David being awarded a long-awaited knighthood by King Charles III. On top of that, Brooklyn also snubbed his dad on Father's Day, which, if you know how active the Beckhams are on social media, is pretty shocking. Despite reports from People that there 'are tensions between Brooklyn and Nicola and the family,' we don't have confirmation as to what might actually be going on between the two parties. Some sources claim that the rift stems from a dispute over Nicola and Brooklyn's wedding, while other insiders have speculated that it may have had something to do with Romeo dating one of Brooklyn's rumored exes. The rumored ex in question, Kim Turnbull — whom Romeo is no longer dating — recently denied that she was ever romantically involved with Brooklyn, so who knows. But, regardless of what the cause may be, Romeo and Cruz have been hinting that they may not be Brooklyn and Nicola's biggest fans. In May, the younger Beckham boys appeared to publicly mock Nicola on Instagram, and a few weeks later, Cruz posted a pointed IG tribute to his family, which many interpreted as a dig at Brooklyn's previous comments about how he will 'always choose' his wife. And now, Cruz seems to have made yet another dig towards his oldest bro — and this time it feels personal. On Sunday, Cruz, who's following in his mom's musical footsteps, uploaded a TikTok video of himself playing guitar and performing an unreleased song, titled 'For ya love.' In the comments section, one critic wrote, 'Are you going to stick with this job or going to become a race car driver next or something?,' to which Cruz bluntly replied, 'Wrong brother mate.' Now, in case you've forgotten, the person's comment was presumably in reference to the online mockery that Brooklyn has faced over the years for his varied and sometimes short-lived career pursuits. If you need a reminder, Brooklyn has dabbled in several different career fields, first starting as a hopeful soccer player before stepping back to try his hand at modeling. He then ventured over into the world of photography, memorably releasing a book of photos, called What I See. In 2017, Brooklyn seemed set on photography and began a four-year course at Parsons School of Design. However, he reportedly dropped out after one year, and the next thing we knew, he'd found his true calling as a chef. Despite previously saying he'd never taken a cooking class, Brooklyn has remained pretty dedicated to the culinary world. His ongoing chef era has led to an appearance on the Today Show, a web series called Cookin' with Brooklyn, a bottled Sake brand, a pop-up restaurant, and a hot sauce line called Cloud23. That said, his cooking pursuits have come with a fair amount of mockery, centered mainly around his relatively basic recipes. And with such a stacked resume already, Brooklyn recently threw a curveball by unveiling his latest venture in the world of Formula E motor racing, which is presumably what the commenter on Cruz's post was referring to. As it stands, Brooklyn has not acknowledged Cruz's comment, but we'll be sure to let you know if he does. In the meantime, I think David and Victoria should consider confiscating Cruz's phone...
