Fond du Lac School District's April 1 referendum focus of information meeting Wednesday
FOND DU LAC – If you're looking for more information about the Fond du Lac School District referendum before voting April 1, a chance is coming up.
The school district and Envision Greater Fond du Lac have partnered to host an information meeting on the referendum at 6 p.m. March 26 at the Lakeside Park Pavilion.
The referendum question will read on ballots: "Shall the Fond du Lac School District, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin be authorized to exceed the revenue limit specified in Section 121.91, Wisconsin Statutes, by $10,000,000 per year for four years, beginning with the 2025-2026 school year and ending with the 2028-2029 school year, for non-recurring purposes consisting of maintaining operations, maintenance expenses and providing for security upgrades in the District?"
The meeting is open to the public and will be livestreamed through a link on envisiongreaterfdl.com, under the Events tab.

While information meetings on the other three area school district referendums have passed, presentations and other information are available on their respective websites.
North Fond du Lac School District is asking voters to authorize exceeding the revenue limit for the next four school years, to fund operational and maintenance expenses, including safety improvements, current programs and services.

The School District of Oakfield is asking to exceed state revenue limits by $1.1 million for the next four school years to support educational offerings, staff salaries and daily operating expenses.

Waupun Area School District is asking to exceed the revenue limit by $900,000 per year for the next three years to fund operational and maintenance expenses, including to maintain facilities and small class sizes, to sustain and expand educational programming and to pay salaries and benefits.

State Rep. Steven Xiarhos rear-ended in Braintree crash. No injuries reported.
State Rep. Steven Xiarhos, R-West Barnstable, was involved in a hit-and-run on Route 3 north near Exit 40 in Braintree on June 18, according to the state police. Xiarhos was not seriously injured, although his car had significant damage, according to his statement posted on Facebook. Around 10 a.m., a 31-year-old man from Quincy driving a black Infinity G37 crashed into the rear of Xiarhos' car, according to statements from police and the office for Xiarhos. The driver then left the scene. State police were able to locate the car, with damages consistent to the crash, later that day on Willard Street in Quincy, according to the state police. The driver was allegedly showing signs of impairment and was arrested by state police. The man faces charges of leaving the scene of property damage, driving under the influence (drugs), negligent operation and driving with a suspended license. What to expect at Fond du Lac County Breakfast on the Farm this weekend at Pollack Dairy
VAN DYNE – It's National Dairy Month, which means for Fond du Lac County, it's Breakfast on the Farm month. Envision Greater Fond du Lac's Agri-Business Council will host the event from 8 a.m. to noon June 22 at Pollack Dairy, N9017 Van Dyne Road in Van Dyne, drawing in guests to see the farm and get a firsthand farm-to-fork experience. The 1,000-acre family farm milks 600 cows and also houses Poco Pizza, which carries a variety of frozen pizzas featuring ingredients from the farm and other local businesses. Breakfast on the Farm admission includes breakfast in the Lakeview Electric Contractors Food Tent, featuring a country-style spread of eggs with ham and cheese, pork sausage, pancakes and applesauce, plus coffee and milk. Kelley Country Creamery will also provide $2 ice cream cups in the flavors Strawberry Fields and Holstein — vanilla ice cream with Oreo cookies. People are flocking to Arizona, according to Census Bureau data released on May 15. Nine Arizona cities made the list of 100 cities that grew the most in 2024. The Southwest is growing — Arizona was one of several states in the region to experience overall population growth from 2023 to 2024. Out of the top 15 cities with the largest population increases, 12 were in the West or the South. New York City took the top spot, gaining 87,184 people. The next largest gainers included Houston (43,217), Los Angeles (31,276), San Antonio (23,945), and Fort Worth, Texas (23,442). Here's how Arizona cities stacked up.
