Sunshine, music and food at annual Taste of Little Italy festival
Thousands of people took advantage of good weather and delicious food at the Taste of Little Italy festival in Toronto on Saturday.
The street festival began Friday night and runs until 10 p.m. on Father's Day Sunday. The annual event closes College Street to traffic — including TTC service — between Bathurst and Shaw streets.
Live music, vendors, extended patios, carnival rides and lots of Italian food — including free tastings — lined the street. Free rickshaw rides are also on offer.

ROME (AP) — Top-ranked tennis player Jannik Sinner is featured on Andrea Bocelli's new single, 'Dust and Glory' that was released Friday. The song, which blends Italian and English, mixes Bocelli's vocals with spoken verses from Sinner. It's a tribute to the struggle and beauty of life's journey, and 'the fine line that turns dust into glory.' There's also an accompanying four-minute music video featuring private footage from the childhoods of both Italian stars, with current scenes filmed at Bocelli's home in Tuscany. 'Talent doesn't exist; it has to be earned,' Sinner says in the recording. 'Sharing this journey with Jannik was fascinating,' Bocelli said. 'We're from different worlds but close in commitment and discipline in the constant search for authenticity and beauty. An 80-year-old man who drove a Mercedes-Benz A Class down the historic Spanish Steps landmark in Rome early Tuesday could not explain how he ended up stuck atop the famed walkway, according to Italian police. The man tested negative for alcohol and was fined on the spot for driving down the iconic monument in the centre of the ancient city. Police said the man, a resident of Rome, wasn't sure how he wound up driving down the steps. Authorities did not release his name, nor confirm if the car was his.
