Radiohead has been on the rise lately — not with brand new music, but thanks to a decades-old track that is finally receiving what many fans might call long-overdue attention. The group's song 'Let Down' began going viral several weeks ago, and its momentum hasn't slowed. Not only has it transformed into a Billboard chart hit in the United States, but it's also become a worldwide sensation for the first time, at least in one measurable way.
Radiohead Charts a new Global Hit
'Let Down' debuts on the Billboard Global 200, the ranking of the most consumed songs on the planet. This week, the track barely manages to break onto the list, starting its journey at No. 190.
'Let Down' Joins 'Creep'
Radiohead earns just its second-ever placement on the Billboard Global 200 with the arrival of 'Let Down.' In May 2023, 'Creep' debuted on the same roster. That tune, which had also been around for decades before it blasted onto the roster, climbed to an all-time peak of No. 51 just last frame — perhaps buoyed by the excitement surrounding 'Let Down.'
This week, 'Creep' slips just two spaces to No. 53, while slightly declining on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. — which is compiled the same way but with American streams and sales removed. 'Let Down' begins its global journey just as 'Creep' marks its ninety-fifth week on both worldwide rosters.
Radiohead Scores Another American Hit
As 'Let Down' opens on the Billboard Global 200, it has yet to land on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., though it could appear soon. The track climbs to new highs on two of the three U.S.-based tallies it appears on at the same time.
Radiohead's tune jumps to No. 15 on the Hot Alternative Songs chart and No. 18 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs ranking, after debuting just a few positions lower last week. The same cut also appears on the Hot Rock Songs list, where it slips slightly from its launch position of No. 14 to No. 15.

Find out who owned this gramophone on display at city museum
THIS gramophone is featured in the recently-opened Your Worcester exhibition at Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum. It is an example of the beautiful HMV 157 (His Master's Voice), manufactured between 1927 and 1939, made of oak with a wind-up turntable. Its large swan neck tone-arm picks up information from the record via the needle and amplifies it through the horn-like soundbox in the body. But this gramophone has a much greater association with music than simply being able to play records. The Pomp and Circumstance Marches are quite possibly his most recognisable works, well known as the melody for Land of Hope and Glory and used to evoke patriotism and national pride. The Enigma Variations led to his international fame. These incredible pieces captured the raw emotions he felt towards friends and places. They demonstrate Elgar's great gift of encapsulating human feelings in music. Enigma Variation VIII is dedicated to Winifred Norbury, of Worcester Philharmonic Society, and was inspired by both her and the beautiful house in which she lived with her sister Florence. It was to Florence Norbury that Elgar gifted this gramophone and some of his records in 1931. In 1942 the gramophone was re-gifted by Sir Edward's daughter Carice Elgar and ultimately donated to the Worcestershire County collection with supporting letters. It remains an incredible link to the composer but also to friends and places he forever immortalised in music. See Elgar's gramophone at Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum.
