The University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) organised a special film festival in celebration of Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), bringing together students and faculty members for a gathering of storytelling and inclusion.
The event, held on UDST campus, featured a curated lineup of short films that shed light on real-life experiences and challenges related to accessibility and inclusion. The festival aimed to raise awareness and promote a culture of empowerment and equality through the art of cinema. Audience members were invited to take part in the experience by casting their votes for their favorite films.
Dr Salem Al-Naemi, president of UDST, stated: 'We believe education must be inclusive and accessible to all. Through this festival, we are highlighting the importance of creating educational and social environments that embrace diversity and uphold the values of human dignity. UDST remains committed to promoting a culture of inclusion across all aspects of university life.'
The event aligns with UDST's ongoing efforts to raise community awareness about global issues and reinforce its role as a leading educational institution driving positive change through purposeful educational and creative platforms. CIC Rayyan Zone organises Eid Al Adha celebration for members

Tribune News Network Doha The Center for Indian Community Qatar (CIC), Rayyan Zone, organised an Eid gathering titled 'Rayyaneed' in celebration of Eid Al Adha. The event took place after the Eid prayers and saw the participation of a number of members and their families. As part of the celebration, a Mappila song competition was conducted in Sub-junior and Junior categories for Malarvadi children's group. Winners included Zeba Serin, Fathima Zahra, Minha, Inaya, Hira Hashir, Ayaan, and Ala Zainab. Prizes were distributed to the winners by C.I.C. Rayyan Zone office bearers Subul Abdul Aziz, Ashkar Ali, and Muhammad Rafeeq Thangal. Following the competitions, C.I.C. members Shajeer, Ummer, Abid, Shafah, Nisar, Mustafa Saifudheen, Ashraf, and Razak performed a series of songs, adding vibrancy to the event. The Acting Zonal President delivered an Eid Message. The programme was led by Zonal Secretary of The Center for Indian Community Qatar Abdul Jaleel MM, Organization Secretary Basith, and Siddique Vengara.

The vibrant turnout reaffirmed Katara's status as one of Qatar's and the region's leading cultural and tourist destinations. Committed to its mission as a hub of cultural exchange and civilisational dialogue, Katara designs its events to foster convergence between cultures while promoting both enjoyment and knowledge. The Eid festivities were a testament to this ethos, blending entertainment with cultural enrichment for visitors of all ages and backgrounds. Salem bin Mabkhout Al Marri, Director of Public Relations and Communication at Katara, highlighted that the Eid Al Adha 2025 celebrations embody the Foundation's vision of becoming a fully integrated cultural and tourist destination that welcomes all. 'We are extremely pleased with the great interaction from the public and the wide turnout witnessed throughout the three days. We saw joy and amazement on the faces of visitors from various nationalities, which reflects our success in providing cultural and entertainment content that meets their aspirations,' he said. The programme offered a wide array of activities designed to engage and delight. The Katara Corniche featured musical and traditional artistic performances, recreational activities for children, evening concerts, and folkloric shows that created a lively and immersive festive experience. Visitors also enjoyed events at Al Thuraya Planetarium, theatrical performances such as the Haunted House, and spectacular fireworks and dancing fountain displays enhanced by lights, music, and visual effects—all of which added to the sense of wonder and celebration. Visitors expressed admiration for the high level of organisation, artistic variety, and cultural richness of the events. Many described the Eid celebrations at Katara as 'exceptional' and 'inspiring', affirming that it has become their preferred destination for holidays and special occasions.
