Netflix fans already 'obsessed' with season 2 of show watched 250,000,000 times

The first six minutes of Wednesday season two have been released and fans are already 'obsessed'.
The hit Netflix show first premiered in 2022 and followed Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams as she attended Nevermore Academy – a school for children with supernatural powers – and promptly found herself smack bang in a murder mystery.
The new clip starts with Wednesday tied up in a serial killer's basement, before she explains that she spent her time away from Nevermore mastering her psychic ability. And, it turns out, she used her new abilities to track down the Kansas City Scalper.
In the YouTube comments, TV fans heaped praise on the sneak preview of the upcoming season.

One fan wrote: 'Man Wednesday going to Kansas City to hunt down a serial killer has got me HYPED!!'
Another said: 'Jenna Ortega seriously delivers on her character! Looking forward to season 2.'
And one keen viewer added: '6 minutes in and I'm already obsessed again. Wednesday carries the entire gothic genre on her shoulders.'
Others were pleased by the new direction the series appears to be taking, with one fan writing: 'I am glad they're adding more horror and backstory this season this is about to be peak.'
Another added: 'I'm so glad they're making it more adult, I loved the first season but it was too slow and boring for the horror aspect for Wednesday.'
The show is one of Netflix's biggest hits, so it's no surprise fans can hardly wait for the much-anticipated season two to drop.
The first season, which premiered in 2022, racked up an enormous 252 million views, earning it the top spot on Netflix's list of the most-watched English-language shows of all time.
Meanwhile, Tudum has confirmed that Lady Gaga will guest-star in Wednesday season two.
The news was officially announced at Netflix Tudum 2025: The Live Event on May 31, where the popstar appeared on stage to celebrate by performing a medley of her hits, including Zombieboy, Bloody Mary and Abracadabra.

Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Christopher Lloyd and Haley Joel Osment are among the other newcomers for season two.
Ahead of the second season arriving in August, co-creators Miles Millar and Alfred Gough have shed light on what viewers can expect, teasing that things at Nevermore get very dark for Wednesday and co…
'There's some moments which are definitely horror movie-worthy,' Miles told Entertainment Weekly. 'We have that in season one, but I think this season there are moments that are very intense, I'll say.
'Season two definitely has some moments which are more straightforward horror, and we're very aware that the show is watched by everybody in terms of the age groups. More Trending
'So we want to make sure that it's never torture porn, but that there's enough bite to it that it feels that there are real stakes and that people die in this world, and it's scary at moments.
'And I think that's the great tonal shift that the show makes between comedy and horror.'
Wednesday season 2 will premiere on Netflix on August 6.

Pixar film risks breaking devastating record despite being hailed 'dazzling'

The animated sci-fi film tells the story of 11-year-old boy Elio Solis (Yonas Kibreab) who dreams of being abducted by aliens after feeling out of place on Earth for so long. He is accidentally beamed up to the Communiverse, an organisation which has representatives from several galaxies, where he is mistakenly identified as Earth's ambassador. It currently holds an 85% rating on Rotten Tomatoes among critics, but it could become the lowest domestic debut ever for Pixar. Box office reports from Variety show the film grossed $9 million (£6,6M) on Friday across 3,750 locations. It has been predicted that this could mean Elio will fall well behind 2023's Elemental, the film which currently has the lowest domestic debut, at $29M (£21.5M) The critics' consensus for the film could not be further away from its low box office, reading: 'Catapulted by its theme of building self-esteem, Pixar's latest cosmic wonder Elio boasts a fanciful world of original creations to dazzling effect.' 'Elio is another knockout, a quiet but determined shooting star that earns its place in the galaxy,' Tribune News Service wrote. Movie Mom added: 'Pixar's latest has everything we love about Pixar, a heartwarming story with endless imagination, charm, and wisdom, about an endearing character and the fears and joys of being human.' Others, however, pointed out the predictability of Elio's plot, with saying: 'Schmaltzy yet sincere, Elio, the latest from Pixar, is as predictable as they come but as tender as they can get.' Paste Magazine added: 'As a story about children finding a place to belong, discovering their true sense of self and realizing that parents and parental figures love you even when they don't always understand you, Elio is a lovely, if not particularly original story.' The Daily Beast summarised: 'For all its overt '80s homages, there's something timeless about Elio. too. It may be mid-tier Pixar, but that's still likely to make it one of the better animated offerings of the year.' More Trending Speaking ahead of the film's release, Kibreab opened up to Screen Rant about learning he had scored the role of Elio alongside Zoe Saldana who voices Elio's aunt Olga. 'I love all the Pixar movies and I watched them all the time and I still do today. And just to be in one, in an original Pixar movie, is such a pinch-me moment,' he said. They both reflected on what they had learned from each other while filming, with Emilia Perez star Saldana revealing, 'He's been teaching me how to be Alpha and Gen Z,' learning everything about 'rizz' and Skibidi Toilet. The family-of-five described themselves as "unconventional", with the young children allowed to set their own schedules each day. The Brighton-based pair shared 11-year-old son Ulysses and daughters Astara, six, and Kai, three. All three children are being raised with "no strict rules" in any aspect of their lives, including meal times, bed times, and school. "The children listen to their bodily cues, they sleep when they're tired, eat when they're hungry," said Matt. Advertisement He joked that this does mean that their diets include a lot of "junk food", such as crisps, cookies, chocolate, and pizza. Matt clarified that their "unconventional parenting" style was about giving their children the freedom to choose. This began at a young age as the kids decided when they wanted to stop breast-feeding and co-sleeping with their parents. While their oldest son co-slept until the age of 11 and stopped breast-feeding around six, his younger sister was happy to move into her own room at five and quit breast-feeding the year before that. Advertisement Meanwhile the youngest Kai still sleeps in her parents' bed at three and continues to breast-feed, with Adele saying she didn't see either ceasing any time soon. This feeds into the couple's main parenting philosophy which involves attachment parenting their children when they are young as well as practicing gentle parenting. How one poly couple make it work while raising teenage sons This close relationship is continued all the time as the children do not attend school. Instead, Adele and Matt use an "unschooling" technique at home, though they clarified this is not considered homeschooling. Advertisement According to them, it lets the child lead what they learn, with nature playing a huge part in their education The family even have a garden farm, which includes a flock of chickens and roosters, as well as rabbits and dogs. "We do not worry about them not being in school, I'd worry about what they'd miss out on if they weren't in school actually," Adele said. Different parenting techniques Here are some widely recognised methods: Authoritative Parenting This technique will often foster independence, self-discipline, and high self-esteem in children. It is often considered the most effective, this technique is where parents set clear expectations - enforcing rules - whilst also showing warmth and support. Authoritarian Parenting This is opposite to authoritative parenting, as it is where the parent sets high demands but is low on responsiveness. It involves ensuring the child is obedient and often employ punitive measures. While this can lead to disciplined behaviour, it may also result in lower self-esteem and social skills in children. Permissive Parenting Permissive parents tend to be indulgent and lenient, often taking on a role more akin to a friend than an authority figure. They are highly responsive but lack demandingness, granting children a lot of freedom. This method can nurture creativity and a free-spirited nature but may also result in poor self-regulation and difficulties with authority. Uninvolved Parenting Uninvolved or neglectful parenting is marked by low responsiveness and low demands. Parents in this category offer minimal guidance, nurturing, or attention. This often leaves children feeling neglected, which can have significant negative effects on their emotional and social development. Helicopter Parenting Helicopter parents are extremely involved and overprotective, frequently micromanaging their children's lives. Although their goal is to protect and support, this approach can hinder a child's ability to develop independence and problem-solving skills. Free-Range Parenting Free-range parenting encourages children to explore and learn from their surroundings with minimal parental interference. This method promotes independence and resilience but requires a safe and supportive environment to be successful. Attachment Parenting According to Attachment parenting focuses on physical closeness and emotional bonding, often through practices such as co-sleeping and baby-wearing. This approach aims to create secure attachments and emotional well-being, but demands significant time and emotional commitment from parents. Each of these parenting techniques has its own set of strengths and weaknesses. The key is to find a balanced approach that aligns with the family's values and meets the child's needs for a healthy, happy upbringing. "A conventional education I would say is definitely failing a large majority of children right now." Advertisement Astara shared her hopes to learn how to write when she's turns "seven or eight" but in the meantime she is focused on things like gymnastics and ballet. As well as "outside school", the couple's unconventional parenting approaching also relates to medical care. They opt to "respect our children's bodily autonomy" and try to steer clear of vaccines and medication unless absolutely neccessary. Instead, they use alternative forms of care, such as herbal teas and extracts or "anything holistic without outside effects".
