
Online betting gang busted in Koderma, 9 arrested

Koderma: Police on Friday arrested nine members of an online betting gang operating from the Mitco Colony area under Telaiya police station limits here.
The gang allegedly ran the online betting racket from a rented house for the past three to four months and operated in shifts.
Taking to the media, SP Anudeep Singh said the accused lured people into playing various games through the "Reddy App", a platform used for illegal betting activities.
During the raid, which was carried out based on a tip-off, the police recovered bank passbooks, ATM cards, mobile phones, a scanner, and a swipe machine — equipment commonly used in online fraud.
Those arrested were identified as Samir Alam (Dhanbad), Raunak Kumar (Nawada in Bihar), Amit Kumar (Ara in Bihar), Prince Kumar (Dhanbad), Jitendra Kumar Singh (Patna), Manish Kumar (Samastipur in Bihar), Kunal Singh (Patna), Kulendra Kumar (Gaya), and Vikky Kumar (Ara).
Singh said, "We are conducting a thorough investigation of the case to determine the full extent of the fraud and how many people fell victim to this betting scam."

5 held in Koderma gold theft case
Koderma: Five persons were arrested for looting gold from a Bihar resident at Koderma ghati on June 15. Police have also recovered majority of the looted gold, it said on Friday. Deepak Kumar Gupta, a trader from Bihar, was on way back to Chapra from Kolkata in his car, carrying gold worth Rs 80 lakh. "Police arrested four individuals from the car and another key accused, Tinku Kumar was arrested from Narhat village in Nawada," said the SP. Police have recovered 673.7gm of gold worth Rs 70 lakh.

CCTV cameras installed to enhance security in Jhumri Tilaiya
1 2 Koderma: In a significant step towards strengthening the security infrastructure of Jhumri Tilaiya town in Koderma district, 38 CCTV cameras were installed across key locations on Saturday. This initiative, taken by the chamber of commerce and industries, Koderma, in collaboration with the Koderma police, aims to enhance law enforcement capabilities and ensure public safety. The CCTV system was officially inaugurated on May 24 at the newly established camera control room at Jhanda Chowk under Tilaiya police station limits. The event marked a milestone in local crime prevention efforts, reinforcing surveillance in areas critical for traffic management, law and order, and public safety. The foundation of this initiative was laid on Dec 22, 2024, during a strategic meeting convened by superintendent of police Anudeep Singh with members of the chamber of commerce and representatives from various business organisations.
