Inter Milan set to early repay bond as plans new debt deal
MILAN :Champions League finalist Inter Milan is set to early repay a 415 million euro ($479.57 million) high-yield bond this month as the Italian soccer club prepares to secure funds from a new debt deal, it said in statement on Friday.
Inter Milan paid a 6.75 per cent coupon to place a five-year bond in 2022 to refinance Italy's top flight soccer club's debt.
The debt facility was issued by the Serie A club's media company, which manages the broadcast and sponsorship business of Inter Milan.
The company plans to redeem the bond on June 26, subject to securing funds from a debt financing transaction by the business day before the redemption date, it said in a statement.
Companies tipically repay debt early to secure better financial conditions.
Controlled by U.S. investment fund Oaktree, Inter Milan was reportedly tapping private debt investors to refinance the debt facility.
Oaktree took over the club last year after a missed 395 million euro payment from the then majority shareholder, Chinese Chinese conglomerate Suning.

Mandatory Credit: Kirby Lee-Imagn Images/File Photo REUTERS NBA star Kevin Durant has purchased a minority stake in French soccer club Paris St Germain, the Champions League winners said on Friday, and the Phoenix Suns forward will provide expertise on their planned expansion into basketball. Durant, two-time NBA champion and four-time Olympic gold medallist, has signed a share purchase and strategic partnership agreement with PSG's majority shareholder Qatar Sports Investments (QSI), through his company Boardroom. "It is an honour to partner with QSI and to be a shareholder of Paris St Germain, a club and a city that is deeply close to my heart," Durant, who won gold at the Paris Olympics last year, said. "This club has big plans and I look forward to being part of the next phase of growth and exploring new investment opportunities with QSI." One of those opportunities is likely to come in the world of basketball, with PSG already involved in early-stage talks with the NBA regarding potential investment and venues for a new basketball league in Europe. Durant, who had already forged a link with PSG through the club's minority shareholder Arctos Partners, will partner on a wide range of commercial, investment and content production initiatives. The 36-year-old will also support the club in its strategy of diversification and growth on sporting and commercial fronts, including developing the club's strategy in the United States and other international markets. PSG said in their release that Durant would provide "expertise on PSG's multi-sport strategy, particularly regarding future projects in the field of basketball". Durant was recently included in Forbes' 2025 list of the world's highest-paid athletes, coming in at number 10 with earnings of $101.4 million. Italy salvages superyacht that sank off Sicily killing seven
PORTICELLO, Italy: Salvage workers on Friday (Jun 20) raised a superyacht that sank off Italy during a pre-dawn storm last year, killing UK tech mogul Mike Lynch and six others. The luxury 56m "Bayesian" was struck by a storm on Aug 19 when it was anchored off Porticello, near Palermo in Sicily. It sank within minutes, killing Lynch, his 18-year-old daughter Hannah and five others. The yacht, which was hit by something akin to a mini-tornado, was raised from the seabed - some 50m below the surface - on Friday, according to an AFP photographer. TMC Marine, the salvage company overseeing the operation, cut off the yacht's mast before lifting the vessel using a crane barge. The Bayesian had an exceptionally tall mast, measuring 72m. Investigators from the Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) - a UK government agency - said last month its profile "produced a degree of effective lift" that increased the boat's lean in the wind. When the yacht sank, there were 22 people on board, including 12 crew members and 10 guests. Lynch, the 59-year-old founder of software firm Autonomy, had invited friends and family onto the boat to celebrate his recent acquittal in a huge US fraud case. Italian prosecutors have launched investigations into the captain and two others on suspicion of manslaughter and the crime of negligent shipwreck.

Juventus extend Adidas partnership to 2037 in $468 million deal
ROME - Juventus have extended their technical partnership with German sportswear giant Adidas until June 2037, in a deal worth 408 million euros ($468 million) over a decade, the Serie A club said in a statement. The current agreement between the two parties, which runs until June 2027, will remain unchanged, the Italian club said. The new contract will then take effect from the 2027-2028 season and cover all Juventus teams until the end of the 2036-2037 season. "This renewal fills us with pride and testifies to the synergy between these two great companies," said Maurizio Scanavino, Juventus Chief Executive Officer. Juventus, famed for their black and white shirts, said the valuation for the new agreement does not include additional royalties for exceeding certain sales volumes or variable components linked to sporting results. "We're delighted to extend our partnership with the most decorated club in Italian football for a further 10 years," said Sam Handy, General Manager of Adidas Football. Juventus have won the Italian league title more than any other rival club. Juventus and Adidas joined forces from the 2015/2016 season. The German sportswear group has a long-term partnership in place with English Premier League club Manchester United which runs until 2035, and also works with other teams including Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. Juventus said last month that U.S. carmaker Jeep will pay 69 million euros to become its main shirt sponsor until June 2028.
