Reinforcing Abu Dhabi's position as the region's leading industrial platform, the event is drawing global and regional industry leaders alongside a growing number of startups, SMEs, and entrepreneurs eager to invest, scale, and connect within the UAE's rapidly growing industrial and manufacturing ecosystem.
Organised by ADNEC Group and hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Abu Dhabi Investment Office, and ADNOC, this edition marks a significant leap in scale and ambition. SMEs and entrepreneurs are at the heart of this transformation, offering bold ideas and specialised expertise that are helping to drive the local economy forward. Over 140 SMEs are taking part in this year's edition, reflecting a broader national direction to empower innovators and small businesses as key drivers of job creation, industrial growth, and economic diversification. Many are exhibiting for the first time, drawn by the UAE's rapid industrial advancement and the unique opportunity to engage directly with policymakers, investors, and procurement leaders.
Among the standout startups this year is W.O.N Technologies, an Emirati company specialising in industrial communications networks, computing, and IoT solutions. With a highly skilled technical team and a strong track record of innovation, the company is using the platform to expand its presence across the region. As a technology provider, W.O.N Technologies aims to unlock new growth and investment opportunities, confident that the event will help accelerate its ambition to lead the MENA region in industrial tech innovation.
Lootah Biofuels is another example of homegrown ingenuity, investing in waste-to-fuel innovation. Yousif Lootah, CEO of Lootah Biofuels, commented: 'Lootah Biofuels was founded on the belief that waste can become a valuable resource—and Make it in the Emirates proves that such innovation can be built here at home. Our first factory was entirely based on German technology, but our latest facility is now 90% locally developed. As a small company, this platform allows us to show the impact we can make when we combine sustainability with local expertise.'
Meanwhile, Younes Al Jalam, Sales Manager at KYMA, said their participation aims to highlight the company's commitment to sustainability through its plant-based, biodegradable products. 'All our products are free from harmful substances such as parabens, phosphates, ammonia, VOCs, and phthalates. KYMA innovations are driven by the belief that sustainability starts with daily household choices—and using the right cleaning products is a vital first step.'
Abdulla Albanna Meat Products Manufacturing, represented by Sales Manager Hussein Ali Younsu, is showcasing its range of healthy, preservative-free food products. 'Our goal is to meet growing demand for nutritious, high-quality foods. We're forming new partnerships locally and globally, and this exhibition provides a unique opportunity for consumers to experience our products and their health benefits.'
Jawaher Alnuaimi, Deputy Director at Union Chlorine, added that the company is seeking strategic partnerships while showcasing its innovations in chlorine and alkali production. 'Although we were only founded in 2017, our use of advanced membrane technology and distributed control systems ensures not only high product quality but also environmental sustainability—with no harmful by-products or liquid waste.'
These examples underscore the tremendous potential of the startups participating in this year's edition of Make it in the Emirates—a platform that provides visionary entrepreneurs the opportunity to showcase what they can achieve.
Across the four-day event, exhibitors are unveiling over 4,800 new products and introducing innovations aligned with the UAE's strategic industrial priorities, from sustainable manufacturing and clean energy to food security and advanced healthcare technologies.
The event is also supported by 31 strategic partners of the National In-Country Value (ICV) Programme, who are working closely with new and returning participants to deepen local supply chains, foster industrial growth, and enable knowledge transfer across sectors.
Held at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, Make it in the Emirates plays a pivotal role in advancing the UAE's National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology, bringing together public and private sector leaders to shape the future of national industry.

Germany Withdraws Embassy Staff from Iran
Israa Farhan Germany's Foreign Ministry has temporarily withdrawn its diplomatic staff from the embassy in Tehran as tensions between Iran and Israel escalate into open conflict, according to German public broadcaster ARD. The move comes amid growing security concerns following direct military exchanges between Israel and Iran, prompting several Western nations to reassess their diplomatic presence in the region. According to ARD, embassy officials were relocated outside Iran, while family members of the diplomatic team had already left the country earlier. The German Foreign Ministry stated that the decision aligns with similar precautionary measures taken by allied nations and is being carried out in close coordination with them. Despite the evacuation, the German Embassy in Tehran remains operational through mobile units and continues to provide consular services to German nationals who remain in or visit Iran. Germans currently in Iran have been advised to explore overland routes for potential departure, should the security situation worsen further. Germany's move follows similar announcements by the United Kingdom and Switzerland, both of which confirmed the closure of their embassies in Tehran on Friday in response to the rapidly deteriorating regional environment. The withdrawal underscores the rising risk posed by the ongoing hostilities, as concerns grow over the potential for a broader conflict in the Middle East. In recent days, Iran and Israel have exchanged missile attacks, raising fears of a prolonged escalation that could threaten diplomatic staff and foreign nationals in the region. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand

Featured publishers include Hamda Al Baloushi, Manager of Aalamkom Publishing and Distribution, and Treasurer and Board Member of the EPA, Salim Abdulrahman, Managing Director of AlRewaya Publishing, and Ghassan Rabih, representative of Dar Rabie Publishing. Bridging Culture Through Publishing: Running from 18 to 22 June, the Association's programme at the fair features a series of high-level events uniting content creators and publishing professionals from the UAE and China. A key event on the agenda is the 2025 Global Children's Book Forum, centred on the theme 'Integrated Innovation in Children's Books Amid New Realities.' Through this platform, the Association highlighted UAE's pioneering contributions to the global book industry, particularly in advancing children's publishing and fostering a culture of reading among young minds. The event agenda also features a panel discussion titled 'Nurturing Young Minds: Children's Publishing Priorities in the UAE and China,' with participation from publishers, Hamda Al Baloushi and Ghassan Rabih, alongside a group of distinguished Chinese children's publishers. Each international platform is an opportunity to project our cultural voice globally and to showcase the wealth of creative potential that the UAE holds. I am proud to be part of this movement and to represent the UAE at one of the world's most important cultural events.' Ongoing Efforts: Through its active presence at prestigious international cultural events such as this, the EPA continues to advance its long-term strategic goals—chief among them being the development of the UAE's publishing ecosystem. This is achieved by connecting Emirati publishers with global networks, encouraging content export, and reinforcing the UAE's position as a dynamic hub in the international publishing industry.

BIG Reimagines Dubai's Jebel Ali Racecourse as an Urban Oasis
BIG–Bjarke Ingels plans to transform Dubai's Jebel Ali Racecourse into a vibrant, walkable district centered on community life. Jun 21, 2025 In partnership with Dubai-based developer A.R.M. Holding, architecture firm BIG has unveiled a masterplan to redevelop the 5-square-kilometre Jebel Ali site into a pedestrian-oriented urban district. The design aligns with the Dubai 2040 Urban Vision and focuses on mobility, environmental performance, and livability. At the centre of the project is a large public park that runs through eight distinct neighbourhoods, creating a green corridor surrounded by shaded plazas and walkable streets. The plan integrates natural elements with infrastructure to support more accessible and climate-conscious urban living. The site's existing racetrack will be retained and incorporated into the development, acknowledging the location's heritage while introducing new public facilities, cultural institutions, and civic spaces. The layout is designed as a series of urban clusters surrounded by green space, offering visual and physical links to the central park. Transport within the district will rely on an automated system to minimise car use and promote alternative mobility options such as walking and cycling. The design incorporates passive cooling features, shaded areas, and desert-inspired landscaping to create more comfortable outdoor environments throughout the year. 'This project is an archipelago of urban islands in a sea of green—reimagining the site not as a collection of objects in isolation, but as a living landscape of interconnected communities,' BIG founder Bjarke Ingels says. Construction is set to begin in early 2026. The Jebel Ali project is intended to inform future urban developments in Dubai, particularly in areas of walkability, integration, and environmental adaptability.
