Ram Charan will be next seen on the big screen in the rural sports drama film, 'Peddi' directed by Buchi Babu Sana. Currently in production, the movie has been highly anticipated among fans.
Recent reports suggest that the upcoming movie's digital rights have been sold for a hefty price.
All language rights in the bag
According to a report by Pinkvilla, the post-theatrical digital streaming rights of 'Peddi' have been acquired by Netflix for a staggering Rs 105 crore plus GST. This deal includes streaming rights in all languages, making it one of the biggest digital acquisitions for a Telugu film led by a solo male star.
This deal sets a new record for Ram Charan, marking his highest OTT deal to date. The actor, who was last seen in 'Game Changer,' is now banking on 'Peddi' to make a strong comeback. With satellite, audio, and other non-theatrical rights expected to fetch an additional Rs 75 crore, the film is on track to recover a major chunk of its budget before even hitting theatres.
Non-theatrical to cover production cost
The report also suggests that the production cost of the film is likely to be covered completely through non-theatrical revenue alone.

The theatrical share of the profits will be divided between the producers and Ram Charan based on a pre-agreed profit-sharing model, making this a well-structured and profitable deal even before release.
About the movie
Apart from Ram Charan's much-anticipated rural makeover, the movie also stars Janhvi Kapoor in the lead role. This marks her second Telugu film after Jr NTR's 'Devara'. The movie also stars Kannada stars Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu and Divyenndu Sharma in key roles.
The movie is scheduled to be released in multiple languages on March 27.

Chinnalagu Vijaya Kumar gets James Beard Award for best chef in New York State

Fresh off his James Beard Award for best chef in New York State a few days ago, Chinnalagu Vijaya Kumar is furiously on the lookout for fresh goat's blood. Rattha poriyal (goat's blood fry), he says, is a dish he's been dying to add to the menu at Semma, his "unapologetically" Tamil restaurant in New York City. "Unfortunately, it's tough to source it in the US. A request for fresh goat's blood is not something people here are used to," says Vijaya Kumar. But it's something he's sure is going to be a 'semma' (Tamil slang for awesome) hit with his customers. "It's a dish straight from the heart of Tamil Nadu. It's what my food is about, showcasing Tamil cuisine in all its spice, richness, texture, and aroma." It's the same Tamil pride Vijaya Kumar brought with him on stage at the awards ceremony on June 16. Dressed in a veshti — he owns dozens as it's the other staple he has specially flown in from Tamil Nadu along with his condiments — Vijaya Kumar said, in a speech that's gone viral: "Never in my life did I think something like this could happen... that a kid from a small town in Tamil Nadu would one day be standing here. We're celebrating the fire and soul of South Indian cooking in a city that has never quite seen it this way, and we're doing it proudly. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like New Market: Scholarships You Can Apply For (Start Now) Google Search Search Now Undo " When he opened Semma in 2021 and showcased a nathai pirattal (snail masala fry) in its unabashedly rustic glory, packed with onions, tomatoes, and all the goodness of his grandma's home kitchen in Nathan, Madurai, where he grew up, he never thought it would catch on like wildfire, Vijaya Kumar says. "Every time I spoke of snails in New York, all that people knew of it in terms of a dish was the classic French escargot. Why not give people a taste of my paati's (grandmother's) escargot, I thought. " And there was no looking back, says Vijaya Kumar, as he watched hordes of patrons lap up the nathai pirattal, wiping their plates clean with the kal dosa served alongside. He kept smashing out the muyal pirattals (wild rabbit leg), vazhakkai varuvals (roasted plantain), and Chettinad maan kari (deer curry), and almost as fast, the awards streamed in. First, the Michelin Star; then, the rating as one of New York's top restaurants; and now, the James Beard Award, considered the Oscars of the restaurant world. "The dishes are all inspired by family recipes," says Vijaya Kumar. "Growing up, during the holidays, I would forage for snails and hunt for rabbits with my grandmother in Arukkumpatti, a small village that didn't even have a bus service. I would watch her prepare the dish. Everything I make here is exactly as it should be eaten in a home in Madurai. No fancying it up, no toning it down, it's just Tamil food, no filters."

The Great Indian Kapil Season 3 First Episode REVIEW: Laughs, Legends and Navjot Singh Sidhu's 'khatak' comeback

Name: The Great Indian Kapil Season 3 Cast: Kapil Sharma, Archana Puran Singh, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda Rating: 3/5 Plot: The Great Indian Kapil Show is back with its third season, and the legacy of laughter continues! Kapil Sharma and his stellar team return to our screens with a fresh wave of gags and hilarity that promises to leave you in splits. Kap's Cafe makes a comeback and is set against the lively backdrop of an airport. It remains consistent, adding a nostalgic charm. Streaming on Netflix and reaching audiences across 192 countries, the premiere episode of Season 3 brings both familiarity and freshness. While the last two seasons delivered endless entertainment, something was notably missing, and it was 'khatak' shayaris. The gap is now filled with the grand return of Navjot Singh Sidhu to the third season. Reclaiming his iconic seat and showering the trademark shayaris, it is one of the biggest reasons to look forward to the episodes. What makes this season even more exciting is its interactive twist! In this third edition, audiences have a chance to appear on the show, but only those who have special talent or a knack for comedy. As we write in detail about the new season of The Great Indian Kapil Show, let's take a moment to appreciate Kapil Sharma's impressive transformation. His lean and fit physique didn't go unnoticed. Salman Khan, who is the first guest on The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 3, also praised the comedian. What Works for The Great Indian Kapil Season 3 Having Salman Khan as the first guest on The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 3 made the premiere truly special. His candid revelations about personal life, thoughts on relationships and divorces, and light-hearted jabs are unmissable. He candidly took a dig at Aamir Khan's marriages, which added a raw, unfiltered charm to the episode. Salman, being his authentic self, worked brilliantly and set a high bar for the season ahead. Welcoming Salman in the very first episode was nothing short of a masterstroke; he was one of the most awaited guests, and his presence was the perfect cherry on top. Another major highlight was the return of Navjot Singh Sidhu, whose infectious energy and signature shayaris brought back a long-lost flavour to the show. Adding to this, what truly stands out is fans having a chance to be on stage. In the first episode, Kapil introduced a talented painter, who created a portrait of Salman, using his tongue. This left all spellbound, and Salman too applauded his talent. It is indeed a smart move by the makers to make the audience feel involved. Watch The Great Indian Kapil Show first episode promo here- What doesn't work for The Great Indian Kapil Season 3 While Season 3 brings back the signature charm, certain elements feel a bit worn out. For instance, Kapil Sharma and Navjot Singh Sidhu teasing each other over their need for female attention seemed redundant. Kapil's digs at Archana Puran Singh felt overused. Despite its U/A 13+ certification, the episode includes adult humor from Kapil, Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek and even Salman Khan. Sunil's character, Buddhi, discussing her love life with Kapil, has dialogues that can make family audiences slightly uncomfortable. Once again, comedy is wrapped in suggestive humor, even though there is more scope for clean satire. Apart from this, the introduction of character artists mimicking Salman, Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn felt like a filler. While their talent was evident and even earned praise from Salman, their screen time felt slightly extended and unnecessary. More interaction segments or conversation with Salman could have been more impactful. Performances in The Great Indian Kapil Season 3 When it comes to performances, no one can beat the trio! Kiku Sharda, Krushna Abhishek and Sunil Grover shine once again, making the first episode a laugh riot. Their performances instantly light up the stage, making everyone smile. Krushna Abhishek's mimicry of Shah Rukh Khan is uproarious. While Kiku, who is playing a widow and mother of Krushna and Sunil's characters, delivers his brilliant act smoothly, winning hearts. But the show stealer, without a doubt, is Sunil Grover. Sunil's impersonation of Salman Khan right in front of him is hilarious. Grover's performance didn't let Khan hold his laughter back, and he can be seen in tears as he enjoys the act. And of course, Kapil remains in top form. His quick-witted punchlines and effortless hosting remind us why he is still the king of comedy. Final Verdict With a runtime of 1 hour 13 minutes and 17 seconds, The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 3's debut episode is just the right dose of entertainment you need on an indoor Saturday evening.
