Zepto debuts AI enabled 'Zepto Atom'

Fashion Network16-05-2025

Quick commerce business Zepto has forayed into subscription-based analytics and launched 'Zepto Atom' on May 16. By using 'Zepto GPT' and natural language processing features, Zepto Atom aims to boost performance for partner brands by providing proprietary data through an AI assistant.
"The answer to 'what is our market share in this pincode' will now be on your home-screen," announced Zepto's co-founder Kaivalya V on Linkedin. "Launching Zepto Atom, a first of its kind brand portal from Zepto with real-time updates on your brand's health and Zepto GPT... Extremely proud of the team that's gone from idea to go live in the last three weeks."
Zepto Atom is designed to build upon the existing Zepto portal. Brands can subscribe to Zepto Atom in order to receive detailed insights into their operations including consumer behaviour and patterns, customer retention rates, and conversion metrics among others. This also enables predictive analysis, ET Tech reported.
The new initiative can be accessed by vendors through a dedicated mobile app names 'Zepto Brand Hub.' At the time of its launch, brands including Ferns & Petals, My Muse, and Superyou have already signed up. Along with hyperlocal targeting through Pin codes, Zepto Atom also tracks live data for real time insights.

After Puig's full takeover, Byredo founder Ben Gorham announces departure

Ben Gorham, the founder of Swedish luxury fragrance label Byredo, is set to step down by the end of June, nearly twenty years after launching the brand in Stockholm. Known for its minimalist aesthetic and cult-favorite scents, Byredo has become one of the most prominent names in global niche perfumery. While Gorham has maintained a low public profile, his recent LinkedIn update—marked 'Open to work'—hinted at the transition. The news comes three years after Spanish luxury group Puig acquired a majority stake in the brand. Byredo had previously been backed by British private equity firm Manzanita Capital since 2013. Though financial details of the Puig deal were never disclosed, industry sources estimated the valuation to be close to €1 billion. Despite the change in ownership, Gorham has continued to lead the creative direction until now. Puig completed its full brand acquisition in 2023, ahead of its stock market debut, bringing Byredo into a growing portfolio that includes Charlotte Tilbury, Jean Paul Gaultier, L'Artisan Parfumeur, and Dr. Barbara Sturm. Gorham and Puig chairman Marc Puig confirmed the founder's exit to WWD, describing it as a 'long-planned and mutual decision.' The transition is expected to be finalized by the end of the month. A former professional basketball player with no formal training in perfumery, Gorham founded Byredo—short for 'By Redolence'—in 2006. He quickly gained recognition for pushing creative boundaries in the fragrance world, combining unconventional inspirations with sleek, Scandinavian design. Under his leadership, Byredo evolved into a lifestyle brand encompassing fragrance, makeup, leather goods, and eyewear. Gorham's creative collaborations further boosted the label's profile, including a 2018 partnership with the late Louis Vuitton artistic director Virgil Abloh on a project titled Elevator Music and a 2019 capsule collection with Swedish outdoor label Peak Performance. Byredo's refined yet experimental identity has made it a mainstay in premium fragrance and concept stores around the world. With Gorham's departure, Puig plans to continue scaling the brand globally while maintaining its artistic legacy. While Gorham has not announced his next venture, his track record suggests another creative chapter may soon be underway.

Boots CMO Markey exits after almost five years

Pete Markey has stepped down as chief marketing officer at Boots UK after a four-and-a-half-year tenure at the high street health & beauty giant. His next destination is yet to be divulged. During his time at Boots, Markey 'led widespread, research-driven changes that have seen the loyalty proposition become a core part of the strategy', the retailer said. He was also responsible for 2022's launch of the brand's new positioning tagline 'With You. For Life'. 'Boots is an incredible business and it's been an honour to work on such an amazing brand and with such a talented group of people over the past 4.5 years,' Markey wrote in a LinkedIn post. 'I'm excited about the next chapter in my career and wish everyone in the Boots UK and Irish business continued success.' Markey is also currently president of the Incorporated Society of British Advertisers (ISBA), a role he assumed last summer. Before joining Boots, he held senior marketing roles at TSB, Aviva and the Post Office. A Boots spokesperson said: 'Pete has made a significant contribution during his time with us, leading our marketing transformation and delivering many creative campaigns alongside our talented marketing team. We would like to thank him for his support and wish him well for the future.' A replacement for Markey at Boots has yet to be announced.

Rate of women hired into top jobs falls for the third year running

05:54 From the show Fresh analysis from LinkedIn shows the rate of women hired into leadership positions has slowed for the third year in a row, leaving the hiring rate back where it was in 2020. The data shows women are being shut out of senior positions, holding less than a third of top roles despite making up almost half of the global workforce. Sue Duke, LinkedIn's Global VP of Public Policy discusses some of the solutions that would help reverse this decline. By:
