Nebraska legend Ndamukong Suh named a 'no-brainer' for the College Football Hall of Fame
A former Nebraska defensive lineman has been called a lock for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame as a member of the 2026 class. On3's Andy Staples named Ndamukong Suh one of his seven 'no-brainers' for the Hall of Fame.
Suh was joined on Staples 'lock list' by Auburn's Cam Newton, Pitt's Aaron Donald, Florida's Percy Harvin, LSU's Alan Faneca, former TCU head coach Gary Patterson, and former Boise State and Washington head coach Chris Petersen.
Suh had a legendary career for the Huskers, with his 2009 season regarded as one of the greatest individual defensive seasons in college football history.
During that year, Suh played in 14 games and recorded 85 tackles, 20.5 for loss, and 12.0 sacks. He was a finalist for the 2009 Heisman trophy and was the first defensive player named the Associated Press College Football Player of the Year. Staples described just how dominant Suh was that year.
"Former Alabama tailback Mark Ingram also is a nominee this year, and I suspect he and Suh will both make the class. But with all due respect to Ingram, who was incredible in 2009, Suh was the best player in college football that season. Suh was the No. 1 vote on my first ballot as a Heisman Trophy voter because he simply wrecked every offense he played."
Now, he is getting an opportunity to be immortalized among the college football greats. One has to think that he will be in elite company sooner rather than later.
The 2026 Hall of Fame ballot includes 79 players and nine coaches from the Football Bowl Subdivision and 100 players and 35 coaches from the divisional ranks. The announcement of the 2026 NFF College Football Hall of Fame Class will be made in early 2026.
The induction will take place on December 8, 2026.

Oklahoma Sooners will stripe the stadium against Michigan
The Oklahoma Sooners have a total of seven home games during the 2025 season, including a huge nonconference showdown against the Michigan Wolverines in Week 2. Earlier this week, the university announced themes for each home game, with the primetime showdown against the 2023 champs as the highlight. OU will stripe Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium on September 6th, a theme the Sooners have brought out for plenty of other big games in the past. Alternating sections of fans will wear red and white shirts, displaying a great look on TV. That contest could very well earn a lot of eyeballs in early September, as it could even be the site for ESPN's College GameDay in Week 2. The network has already announced that kickoff will be at 6:30 p.m. on ABC's Saturday Night Football. But the Michigan game isn't the only one to get a theme in Norman this year. Among others, September 20th against Auburn is "Wear Crimson" day, Homecoming against Ole Miss is set for October 25th and "Military Appreciation Day" is against Missouri on November 22nd. After Oklahoma lost two home games a year ago (against Tennessee and South Carolina), the Sooners would love to get back to their 2023 form, where they went undefeated in Norman. Montreal's Canada Day parade cancelled for a second year in a row, organizer says
MONTREAL - Montreal has cancelled its once-annual Canada Day parade for the second time in as many years, event organizers announced this week. Chief organizer Nicolas Cowen announced the decision in a news release, citing a number of reasons for the cancellation including potential municipal worker job action, difficult relations with city departments and planning problems. It's the second consecutive year in which Montreal won't have a parade — an event that began in 1977. Thursday's announcement came less than two weeks before Canada Day. 'We understand this news is disappointing to many, especially the families, performers, volunteers, and attendees who look forward to this cherished tradition,' organizers said in a Facebook post. 'The parade has not only been a celebration of Canada but a proud reflection of Montreal's diversity, resilience, and community spirit.' Cowen blamed red tape and politics for the 2024 cancellation, citing issues in securing permits and funding and getting approval from government officials. When the event was last held in 2023, Cowen said he was forced to complete some sets of paperwork multiple times and find 148 last-minute volunteers to satisfy city rules. The event was also cancelled between 2020 and 2022 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Cowen said the parade has become increasingly difficult to organize without disruptions in recent years. According to organizers, the event draws 120,000 spectators. Cowen said he remains hopeful he can mend ties with the city and the parade can return. 'With its cancellation, not only does the city lose a major tourism draw, but Canadian culture itself takes a hit on one of the most important national holidays,' organizers said. A City of Montreal spokeswoman disputes the assertions, saying the organizer failed to submit a project proposal for the parade. 'As was the case last year, the promoter of the Canada Day parade, Nicholas Cowen, did not submit a project application to the City of Montreal, despite the city inviting him to do so on several occasions,' Nicky Cayer said in an email. Cayer says Canada on the Move, a brand new festival, did get a permit and the July 1 free event includes 13 totems — one for each province and territory — over a 1.2 kilometre route through historic Old Montreal. Texas A&M lands commitment from elite 2026 five-star Edge out of Georgia
Texas A&M's recruiting success continued on Saturday afternoon, as one of the program's 13 visitors announced his commitment to the Aggies as a five-star edge Tristian Givens, who is currently taking his first official visit to College Station, became the 19th commit in A&M's 2026 cycle, and the second five-star commit alongside cornerback Brandon Arrington. On the field, Givens is still raw as a pass rusher, having started his football career as a wide receiver, but possesses elite traits, especially his ability to bend and keep his balance once he turns the corner. Under Mike Elko, who will call the defensive plays this coming season, recruiting and developing NFL talent is the key to competing for a College Football Playoff spot. According to 247Sports, Givens is currently positioned as the 23rd-ranked prospect in the 2026 cycle, the 3rd-ranked edge, and the 4th-ranked prospect in Georgia.
