JOEL DOMMETT will celebrate the National Television Awards' 30th birthday with a riotous party – which he hopes is far better than his own milestone bash.
Returning as host of the annual ceremony for the fifth time, Joel, 39, has revealed big plans to mark the anniversary.

He told The Sun: 'It's early days, so we are very much in the 'ideas' phase.
"But I really wanna do something really great for the start.
'Because it's the 30th year, we plan to celebrate not just the great telly that's happened this year, but also the stuff that's happened over the past 30 years.
'My own 30th was a disaster.
"I decided to do an emo-themed party because I liked nu-metal music when I was a kid and I invited some people over to my house in Peckham.
'Because I was just a stand-up comedian at the time, I did it on a Sunday because all my friends were comedians and we all worked on Saturday and Friday.
'But I didn't really think about the fact that all of my neighbours work the next day… so we just had loads of complaints and I shut it down really early and then we just had some tea.'
At least Joel is guaranteed a good time this September 10, when he presides over the ceremony at London's O2.
He said: 'I say this every year, but I feel like TV is better than it's ever been. It feels really exciting, feels really competitive.
'There's a lot of really big shows and a lot of them are British.
Joel Dommett takes swipe at Bradley Walsh's son and Stephen Mulhern in hilarious opening number
"The Traitors has made such a huge impact, and shows like Rivals and Adolescence.'
Last week's TV Bafta awards overlooked some viewers' favourites such as Gavin & Stacey and The Traitors.
Joel added: 'There's certainly a place for the things like the Baftas, that are nominated for by panels, but I think it's great the NTAs are there as a public-based forum.
'You can't really argue because it's voted for by the people.'
Joel is up for TV Presenter for his work on The Masked Singer, but doesn't hold out much hope.
He said with a laugh: 'There's no point in me getting competitive because I'm never going make the shortlist.
"Ant and Dec always win.
'But how amazing is it that we've got two guys who have been on telly that long and who are still delivering incredible television?
'I can't see their reign ending anytime soon.'

Conor McGregor links up with Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers in Ibiza days after 'punch' incident

McGregor has been pictured linking up with Celtic manager Rodgers in Ibiza, just days after the former UFC champion was allegedly involved in a nightclub altercation Conor McGregor has been spotted rubbing shoulders with Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers in Ibiza. The UFC star - who previously claimed he has held discussions to become a Celtic shareholder - took to social media on Friday evening to post a photo of himself alongside the Hoops boss, who was cradling a baby in the image. ‌ "LEGENDARY DOUBLE CHAMP LINK UP! NEXT YEAR, TREBLE! GOD IS GREAT! @CelticFC @ufc Congrats to the Rodgers family on the new addition to their family," McGregor captioned the picture on his social media platforms. ‌ This encounter between Rodgers and McGregor occurred shortly after the latter was reportedly involved in a scuffle at an Ibiza nightclub. The Sun published footage early Tuesday from Pacha nightclub, which purportedly shows McGregor leaning down to speak to an unidentified man on the dance floor. Seconds later, the 36 year old seems to launch two punches. Following the incident, the man was seen hitting the ground, prompting witnesses to share their accounts of what transpired. One eyewitness told The Sun that it seemed there were no repercussions for the ex-dual-weight UFC titleholder. "The guy seemed to fall to the floor, and his mates came to pick him up and get him away," they reported to The Sun. "There [didn't appear to be any] consequences for Conor." Another recounted: "About five people fell to the floor as the guy stumbled back. It was a bit like bowling pins, but the guy was really shaken." They continued: "About a minute later, the bouncers came and got him on the back and took him out of the club. ‌ "It was right before close anyway," they added. "There was no messing around; they just removed him. Conor left through the garden a bit later; he didn't look very happy." Since then, McGregor has shared that he was in Ibiza after treating his football teammates to a trip to the Spanish resort. The UFC star has been playing in an over 35's league with his local pub team and celebrated their recent league victory. "To celebrate winning the league I took the @blackforgeinn football squad away on holiday to Ibiza! All expenses paid, VIP's," McGregor posted on social media along with a selection of snaps and clips from their getaway. He elaborated: "LEAGUE CHAMPIONS, BABY! Reach out, link up, join a team! Get active! For the sake of your mental health you will thank yourself! #ibizapartyisland." Three years ago, McGregor stated talks took place with Dermot Desmond about his shares to provide financial backing for the Parkhead side.

Jordan said his ink addiction hadn't caused him any issues during his previous two trips to his "favourite country in the world", the UAE. The dad told The Sun: "My missus has been crying her eyes out. "It has absolutely devastated me. I feel like I've been massively discriminated against. 'It was my favourite country, but this has absolutely ruined it. Now I'll never go again. I've lost all of my money because of a pattern on my face.' Jordan landed at Dubai International Airport on Wednesday for a dream week-long holiday with his fiancée Theresa, 38, and daughter Kaic, 16. But he said as he ventured through passport control he was pulled to one side. After taking Jordan aside, the worker asked if he'd had his passport stamped before taking it from him. "There had been nowhere to stamp it - we'd used the electronic gates. It was just an excuse to get the passport out of my hand.' After being held in a waiting room for more than four hours, Jordan was transferred to immigration at around midday, he said. By this time, his family had reached their five-star Anantara hotel. He called his partner and she got a taxi to the airport - but Jordan said airport staff refused to let her go to him and so she got a cab back, costing a total of £250. 'One of the staff behind the desk said a more senior immigration officer made the decision, saying I was not to enter Dubai and that I must leave the country immediately.' At 2.30pm - six hours after arriving - Jordan was put on another Emirates flight heading back to the UK. 'They sent me on a flight back to Manchester," he said. "It was only when I landed that I got my passport back. "Friday morning was the first time I got to see my daughter, over Facetime.' The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs Dubai have been approached for comment. Dubai Airports was also contacted for a response.
