Harrods opens key occasionwear space, adds new exclusives
Harrods is continuing to reshape its physical fashion spaces and has just unveiled Designer Collections – Room 3 (DC3), the latest addition to its womenswear portfolio and 'the next chapter in the evolution of the first floor — a cornerstone of the wider Harrods Masterplan, the store's ambitious multi-year transformation of the customer experience'.
It's positioned between 'the relaxed sophistication of' Designer Collection – Room 1 (DC1) and Room 2 (DC2) with the 'formal elegance' of the new Evening & Occasion Room said to 'redefine occasionwear through a contemporary lens'.
The space, designed by David Collins Studio, is essentially dedicated to day-to-evening dressing, 'offering a considered wardrobe for the discerning woman whose calendar spans everything from refined lunches to elevated celebrations'.
What this means in practice is a room that features an edit of fluid tailoring, statement dresses and 'polished' separates, 'curated with a focus on silhouette, craftsmanship, and seasonal relevance'.
The retailer is building on the momentum of the earlier makeovers of DC1 and DC2 that opened in November 2024 'while extending the narrative into a new, occasion-led space'.
Importantly, the floor introduces five directional brands to Harrods womenswear. Included are Adam Lippes, Carolina Herrera Daywear and Valenti, all in UK department store exclusives. Also new to the store are Liberowe and Edeline Lee, that latter unveiling a global exclusive capsule collection.
The space also includes 'a refined edit' of established names — such as Alessandra Rich, Erdem, and Roksanda — 'all dual-sited to enhance the cross-category experience across Womenswear'.
The company said it's 'more than a seasonal launch, DC3 is a platform for year-round wardrobe evolution. From light spring tailoring to rich autumnal textures, the space will continuously adapt to reflect the rhythm of the fashion calendar and the ever-changing needs of Harrods' clientele'.

Swaine to open Harrods space later this month
Luxury brand Swaine is to unveil a dedicated retail space in Harrods on 27 June, marking what it says is 'a significant milestone in its continued retail expansion'. It's taking space in the Menswear Designer Collections room as it continues to boost its presence in the world's most prestigious department stores. In London, Swaine currently has a flagship store on New Bond Street and smaller boutique in Burlington Arcade, both in the West End, so a presence in key luxury shopping district Knightsbridge should expose it to a raft of new and affluent potential customers. The leather goods and accessories heritage brand (275 years old and counting) has a big focus on British craftsmanship and the Harrods location will present a curated edit of its signature pieces across leather goods, umbrellas and headwear, all of it handmade using traditional techniques in the UK. Carine de Koenigswarter, Chairman and CEO of the firm, said that 'opening at Harrods is an exciting milestone… and a continuation of our strategy to reestablish the brand across globally respected luxury destinations'. And Yasmin Mehmet, buying manager at Harrods, said the brand 'is a natural addition for our customers who appreciate timeless style and enduring quality'. Hero styles available there will include the New Bond Attache, Whitehall Briefcases in Jaguar Green and Black Ostrich, Kensington in Black and Cognac, and the Mayfair in Havana, alongside caps and hats such as the Poet in Deep Sable and the Slim Cap in Olive. Swaine's umbrella range including the Oak and Maple styles and a selection of small leather goods will also be available.

Schiaparelli doubles Harrods space with grand vision on designer floor
Maison Schiaparelli opened its Harrods boutique in early 2023 and now it's launching what it says is a 'significant new chapter in the brand's presence' in the UK as it doubles its footprint in the luxury department store. It's moved to a new location on the store's key first floor dedicated to luxury womenswear and said the space 'reaffirms the Maison's commitment to offering its international clientele an immersive experience that blends the brand history with artistry, heritage, and unique design'. Schiaparelli, under creative chief Daniel Roseberry, is having something of a moment as it continues to be a top choice for red carpet events globally. Simon Longland, director of buying, fashion at Harrods, said the store is 'committed to curating a fashion offering that celebrates creative vision, craftsmanship, and exclusivity. Schiaparelli's expanded presence reflects the growing demand from our clients for design that is both daring and refined. Daniel Roseberry's unique approach to storytelling and silhouette continues to resonate deeply with our global clientele'. The new Harrods space 'is a collaboration with' Roseberry and architecture agency Halleroed and covers 222 sq m (2,390 sq ft), drawing inspiration from some of the brand's key historical elements — 'most notably, the surrealist and theatrical themes born from Elsa Schiaparelli's collaboration with Salvador Dalí, her work with designer Jean-Michel Frank, and the brand's signature blend of whimsical sophistication and true French elegance'. Halleroed said: 'Our vision was to create an environment that feels both intimate and residential — but with a bold, elevated twist. To evoke the spirit of Schiaparelli's original salon at Place Vendôme, we adopted an enfilade layout, creating a sequence of interconnected rooms framed by striking black decorative portals. These not only guide the visitor through the space but also define a sense of privacy and exclusivity.' Gold, a label signature, plays a central role throughout the boutique, both in colour and texture. Two separate entrances lead visitors through corridors finished with white-wrapped moulding on the walls, echoing the Paris flagship. These corridors open onto a central lobby with a gold-leaf domed ceiling featuring original hand-drawn sketches by Roseberry. Mirrors are used extensively throughout, both as reflective surfaces and 'decorative and illusionistic elements that expand and animate each room'. The individual rooms include a jewellery room, conceived as a surrealist bathroom, with walls clad in hand-cut, hand-installed Venetian gold glass mosaic, reminiscent of an Art Deco bathroom. Jewellery is presented in the marble bathtub. There are three separate rooms showcasing RTW. Then there's the Boudoir, 'tucked away in the apartment-like boutique' as a private VIP lounge that's followed by a bedroom complete with bed and fireplace, and embroidered artworks and mirrored panelling. Next is the shoe room, cased in mirror and tobacco velvet. Delphine Bellini, CEO of Schiaparelli, said: 'This new boutique-atelier reflects our vision of luxury retail as a singular, elevated, and tailor-made experience. It is a tribute to the trust of our clients, the unwavering dedication of our teams, and the exceptional partnership we share with Harrods. The creative alchemy between Daniel Roseberry and the design duo Halleroed gave birth to this sophisticated, daring and immersive concept — our very first of its kind — crafted to surprise and enchant our clients while remaining profoundly true to the spirit of Schiaparelli.'
