Florida football lands first 2027 commitment from blue-chip athlete Tramond Collins
Florida football landed its first commitment from the 2027 recruiting class this weekend from four-star athlete Tramond Collins following his appearance at the program's annual Grille in the Ville event.
The 6-foot-2-inch, 183-pound prospect out of Cottondale (Florida) who is also listed at wide receiver by 247Sports chose the Gators over seven total offers, which also include the Florida State Seminoles, Kentucky Wildcats and Tennessee Volunteers. Billy Napier and Co. put on a show for the young recruit on Saturday, which was clearly enough to earn the verbal pledge.
Collins amassed 661 yards on 31 carries and nine rushing touchdowns while catching 13 passes for 402 passing yards and six touchdowns during his high school sophomore campaign. On defense, he recorded 33 tackles, two fumble recoveries and one interception.
The Sunshine State product is also a standout on the track and the basketball court. Collins earned the regional title in the 200-meter dash last season, running times of 10.89 in the 100-meter dash and 21.89 in the 200-meter dash; he averaged 13.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.3 steals per game on the parquet.

Collins is ranked No. 179 overall and No. 8 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 272 and 10, respectively.

The Hawkeyes are once again finding diamonds in the rough as their latest commitment comes from a hidden gem whom they witnessed firsthand rather recently. The Hawkeyes offered the 6-1 183 183-pound safety on Sunday after he participated in a camp with them on Thursday. Hill committed the same day to give Iowa its tenth commit in the 2026 class. Hill is a three-star prospect out of Sterling Heights, Michigan, and Adlai Stevenson High School. Hill chose the Hawkeyes over offers from Austin Peay, Eastern Michigan, Northern Illinois, and Kent State. He's the 125th-best safety prospect and 18th-best prospect from Michigan in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports. Hill is a dual-sport high school athlete, also competing in track and field. Hill also plays wide receiver for Adlai Stevenson, where he had 19 receptions for 292 yards and a touchdown during his junior year. Former Oregon football 5-star announces commitment to SEC school
For a matter of 17 days, 5-star edge rusher Richard Wesley was a member of the Oregon Ducks' 2026 recruiting class. Now, just over a month later, Wesley has announced that he is joining an SEC school instead. On Sunday afternoon, Wesley, the No. 14 player and No. 2 EDGE in the 2026 class, per the 247Sports Composite, announced that he is committing to the Texas Longhorns. Wesley announced his commitment to Oregon early in May by jumping into a pool with Dan Lanning, but later announced his decommitment less than a month later. This is a tough blow for Oregon, which felt like they were still in a good position to land Wesley despite his decommitment. There was a sense that things needed to be straightened out on the back-end with an NIL deal, but the love between the player and school was still there. Apparently, Wesley saw enough this weekend on his official visit to Texas to commit to the Longhorns, though. Wesley still has an OV scheduled to Ohio State for the beginning of the college football season, on a week when they play Texas. We will see if he still keeps that visit scheduled and if he sticks with the Longhorns longer than he did with the Ducks.
