Report: Bayern Munich to hold secret meeting with Florian Wirtz at undisclosed location
According to a report from Sport Bild journalists Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich will meet with Bayer Leverkusen ace Florian Wirtz, but not at Säbener Straße as first thought.
Much like former sporting director Hasan 'Brazzo' Salihamidžić's infamous rendezvous with Erling Haaland, which took place at the executive's house, Bayern Munich's meeting with Wirtz will be held at an undisclosed location — away from the eyes of the media:
A meeting between Bayern and Florian Wirtz is planned for this week. Wirtz won't be at Säbener Straße, but will be away from the cameras and meet Uli Hoeneß personally at Tegernsee. Hoeneß has taken matters into his hands and is pushing — Bayern want to finalize the agreement with the player before Liverpool.

Bayern Munich seems to be showing a level of urgency with this pursuit for a number of reasons and that will hopefully bode well as the team seeks to bring Wirtz in for the Club World Cup.

Borussia Dortmund's Croatian head coach Niko Kovac said teams from the 'south' had an advantage in the Club World Cup (CHARLY TRIBALLEAU) Borussia Dortmund coach Niko Kovac said Friday teams from the "south" have an advantage on European teams at the Club World Cup because of the current high temperatures in the United States. South American teams have impressed at the tournament and are unbeaten to this point, while Dortmund's South African opponents on Saturday, Mamelodi Sundowns, beat Ulsan HD in their first Group F match. Kovac's uninspired Dortmund were held to a 0-0 draw by Brazilian side Fluminense in their opening match on Tuesday. "At the moment in this tournament you see that the clubs from the south, I think they have a big advantage because of the conditions, of the heat," Croatian coach Kovac told reporters. "We're respecting every team and we know this is a very good team, from Africa, from South Africa." Brazilian side Botafogo stunned Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain on Thursday, while Chelsea lost against another Brazilian team in Flamengo. Advertisement Some players and coaches have complained about the heat and humidity they have been forced to play in at FIFA's expanded competition, as well as fans who have also suffered. "For the spectators in the stadium it is incredibly hot, (so) now you can imagine how difficult it is for the players," continued Kovac. "(It's) 32 degrees when you're in the shade, and you're not even in the sun. So when you play inside the stadium you can assume it is 3, 4 or 5 degrees even hotter. "These are not excuses, it's just an explanation... this is very difficult, especially for the Europeans. The players from the south, for them it's easier because they are used to these temperatures." Advertisement Kovac said his team would try to keep the ball away from Mamelodi because of the sweltering conditions in Ohio. "We need to prevent them from possessing the ball, we all know that it is going to be very warm, extremely hot tomorrow," said the coach. "We will play at noon tomorrow and we will play under the sunlight, we need to make sure we have the ball at all times. "If you have to run after the ball, it will mean a lot of effort." Kovac would not reveal if Jobe Bellingham, brother of Real Madrid star Jude, would be handed his first start, but said it was an option. Maresca accepts Chelsea were second best in Flamengo loss
Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca looks on during his team's 3-1 defeat against Flamengo at the Club World Cup (CHARLY TRIBALLEAU) Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca admitted his team were deservedly beaten by Flamengo following their 3-1 loss to the Brazilians at the Club World Cup on Friday, but said Nicolas Jackson's second-half sending-off would have no impact on his future at Stamford Bridge. "Six minutes completely changed the dynamic of the game," Maresca said after Flamengo came from behind to lead 2-1 with two quickfire goals just after the hour mark before Jackson's red card left Chelsea down to 10 men. Advertisement Pedro Neto gave the Blues an early lead at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, but Bruno came off the bench to equalise for Flamengo and then set up Danilo to make it 2-1. Jackson, who had come on as a substitute, was then dismissed for a dangerous tackle on Ayrton Lucas and Flamengo made the most of the extra man as Wallace Yan wrapped up their win late on. It was Jackson's second red card in a short space of time after he was also sent off in a 2-0 Premier League loss at Newcastle United just over a month ago. Club World Cup stunners continue as Flamengo shocks Chelsea 3-1
Danilo scored the go-ahead goal in the 65th minute and Flamengo scored three second-half goals to move atop its group at the Club World Cup with a 3-1 victory over Chelsea on Friday. Both teams went into the match with three points atop Group D with opening-match wins. Flamengo will have to wait to see the results of the late match between LAFC and Esperance to see if it has secured a spot in the knockout round. With Flamengo's win, South American teams were undefeated at the Club World Cup in nine matches. Pedro Neto gave Chelsea the early lead. The ball bounced off a Flamengo defender and Neto gained control, charging toward the goal before putting it away in the 13th minute. Flamengo drew even in the 62nd on Bruno Henrique's goal on a tap-in in front of the goal. Moments later, the Brazilian giants took the lead off a corner with Danilo's goal. Wallace Yan all but put the game out of reach for the Blues with a goal in the 83rd. The Blues, the 2021 Club World Cup winner, defeated LAFC 2-0 in their opening match in Atlanta. Flamengo downed Esperance 2-0 in its opener. Former Chelsea defender Filipe Luis currently coaches Flamengo, while former Chelsea midfielder Jorginho made his debut for Flamengo against Esperance. Down just 2-1, Chelsea still had a chance, but Nicolas Jackson was sent off in the 68th with a straight red just four minutes after replacing Liam Delap, who got his first start for Chelsea after making his debut for the Blues in the tournament opener. Flamengo is in good position to move on to the round of 16, but it needs a win or a tie by Esperance to secure it.
