The New Hampshire Attorney General has offered an update regarding an investigation into the officer-involved shooting in Manchester
According to the A.G.'s Office, around 4:40 PM Saturday, Manchester police were dispatched to the Manchester Fairfield Inn at 860 South Porter Street to aid hotel staff in removing an occupant refusing to leave his room after his designated checkout time.
Once at the room, officers met up with the individual, who shot at the officers.
In response, one of the officers returned fire, shooting the occupant. Officers then immediately began rendering aid to the individual.
The individual was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities say that the individual is in stable condition.
No other injuries were reported.
An investigation is ongoing. Following protocol, the identity of the officer who used deadly force will not be disclosed until a formal interview takes place.

Camarillo liquor store targeted, Fillmore man tied to April stabbing, more
A Camarillo liquor store was burglarized early June 21 with the culprits smashing through a front glass area and using a power tool to get past a metal gate, authorities said. The burglary was reported around 7:15 a.m. when workers arrived to find the front glass broken out, said Ventura County Sheriff's Capt. Tyler Abbott. The city of Camarillo contracts its police services with the sheriff's office. Surveillance video later showed the break-in happened around 2:55 a.m., and the suspects used a sledgehammer to break the glass and a power tool called a sawzall to cut through a metal gate, he said. The suspects hauled off with $1,000, lottery scratcher tickets and a tip jar, Abbott said. The culprits left in an older model Honda CRV with no plates. No alarm was activated in the burglary, Abbot said. Anyone with information about the burglary can call Camarillo police at 805-388-5100. Authorities arrested a Fillmore man on June 18 in connection to a pair of stabbings in April and for allegedly threatening a potential witness. The Ventura County Sheriff's Office arrested the 22-year-old man on suspicion of dissuading a witness by force or threat, battery and participation in a street gang, according to a sheriff's office news release. The city of Fillmore contracts its police services with the sheriff's office. The arrest comes after a monthslong investigation into two stabbings that took place shortly after 2:20 p.m. on April 15, sheriff's officials said. One victim with a stab wound was found by deputies in the 400 block of Mountain View Street. The second victim arrived at the Fillmore Police Station seeking medical assistance and was transported to a local hospital, sheriff's officials said. The suspect allegedly confronted, dissuaded and battered a member of the community while they attempted to gather information during the incident. Sheriff's investigators searched a residence in the 200 block of Mutau Circle in Fillmore and found evidence that tied the man to the alleged stabbings and a criminal street gang, according to the sheriff's office. The man was released on bond on June 18, jail records show. He is scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on July 2. Two Ventura County residents were arrested on June 18 after being tied to alleged illegal firearms sales, including a 'ghost gun,' authorities said. A 19-year-old Camarillo man and a 20-year-old Oxnard man were arrested on suspicion of felony offenses, including conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of a large capacity magazine and unlawful transfer of a weapon, according to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office. The sheriff's office is contracted to provide police services for the city of Camarillo. The arrests came after a monthslong investigation into a suspect in possession of an illegally owned firearm, sheriff's officials said. Investigators identified the suspect as the Camarillo man and later tied the Oxnard man as a conspirator. Sheriff's investigators searched a residence in 1700 Block of Alexander Street of Oxnard. The 20-year-old suspect allegedly attempted to flee during the search but was caught and arrested, sheriff's officials said. He also faces a charge of resisting arrest, authorities said. Detectives also searched the 19-year-old's residence in the 1200 block of Harris Avenue in Camarillo and found a Glock-style 9 mm without serial numbers, also known as a 'ghost gun." Investigators also found a 31-round Glock large-capacity magazine and an AR-15 upper receiver, sheriff's officials said. He also faces a felony charge for possession of a large-capacity magazine. Both men were released on bond on June 19, jail records show. They are scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on July 2, jail records show. FAA Blocks Drones Before NBA Finals Game 7
The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a temporary flight restriction for a half nautical mile radius around Paycom Center in Oklahoma City (Okla.) that will begin at 5:00 pm local time and last until midnight. The TFR, which was issued on Friday, is among the security measures being set in place for Game 7 of the NBA Finals between the Indiana Pacers and the Oklahoma City Thunder. The game will be played in the aftermath of the United States Air Force and Navy bombing nuclear sites in Iran this weekend and Iran vowing revenge. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's National Terrorism Advisory System issued a bulletin Sunday stating the 'ongoing Iran conflict is causing a heightened threat environment in the United States.' Advertisement More from The TFR prohibits unmanned aircraft systems, which include drones and model aircrafts, from flying from the surface up to, and including, 400 feet above ground level. The prohibition excludes drones operated by DHS, police, firefighters and commercial operators who obtain an airspace waiver. Violators can face a bevy of sanctions, including revocations of licenses and fines. In certain instances, criminal charges are also possible. Earlier this year, the Department of Justice charged a man, Alexis Perez Suarez, who flew a drone over Baltimore's M&T Bank Stadium during an AFC Wild Card game. Suarez was charged with operating a drone without a license and willfully violating U.S. National Defense Airspace. Suarez, who insisted he was only trying to take photographs, pleaded guilty and last week was sentenced to one year of probation, 100 hours of community service and a $500 fine. In a statement issued by the Department of Justice regarding Suarez's sentencing, FBI acting special agent in charge Amanda M. Koldjeski said, 'It is not just irresponsible and reckless, but illegal to fly a drone over a major sporting event such as a Ravens playoff game.' Koldjeski went on to say, 'capturing a photo is not worth the risk of hurting any spectators, players, or employees. As shown by this investigation, the FBI and our partners will hold those caught violating the law fully accountable.' Advertisement The FAA's move to block drones around Paycom Center is consistent with agency practices. The FAA regularly restricts unmanned aircraft systems from flying above a stadium, ballpark, racetrack and other venues. Federal law also imposes numerous restrictions on drone use, including as to permissible locations and how drones interact with air space and aircraft. Data suggests that drone incursions into restricted airspace are occurring more frequently. Science and technology publication The Debrief recently reported a 25.6% increase in illegal drone incursions near U.S. airports from January to March 2025 compared to that time period in 2024. Incursions could become more worrisome in light of national security concerns connected to U.S. military operations abroad. Drones have caused injuries to unsuspecting bystanders, including those celebrating sports. Last October, two people in Boston were hurt when a drone hit a light pole and crashed during a Boston Celtics opening night watch party at City Hall Plaza. Woman dies after car crashes into street poles, tree in South Elgin, Illinois, police say
An investigation is underway after a woman was killed in a crash Saturday morning in South Elgin, Illinois. South Elgin police said just before 2 a.m., officers responded to the area of Randall Road at Stearns Road for a report of a single-car crash involving a gray 2021 Kia Sorento. Preliminary information from witnesses and evidence collected at the scene indicated that the Kia was heading northbound on Randall Road. After passing through the intersection at Stearns Road, the Kia left the roadway to the right for an unknown reason. According to police, the car hit a traffic sign, a street light pole, an electrical utility pole, and a tree before coming to a stop. The car sustained extensive damage, including full airbag deployment, and the engine was separated from the car. Police found the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle unconscious by responding police and South Elgin Fire District personnel. She was taken to Ascension Saint Joseph Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. The driver was identified as Erin M. Vitale, 46, of South Elgin. Police said she was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and had to be extricated from the vehicle due to the severity of the damage. Investigation into the crash remains ongoing. The Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team assisted at the scene.
