JoJo Siwa makes shocking career move just one day after revealing she was 'pressured' to call herself a lesbian

Daily Mail3 hours ago

JoJo Siwa cancelled her performance at Saturday's Pride celebration in Chicago.
Back Lot Bash Chicago, the organization putting on the event, made the announcement early Saturday morning with a quick note in its Instagram Stories.
'Due to a scheduling conflict, JoJo Siwa will no longer be performing at Chicago's Back Lot Bash,' it read, without further explanation.
The news comes one day after the Bulletproof singer, 22, who defines herself as queer, revealed to the Daily Mail that she felt pressured into calling herself a lesbian.
'When I came out at 17, I said: 'I'm pansexual, because I don't care [about gender]." But then I kind of boxed myself in and I said: 'I'm a lesbian.' And I think I did that because of pressure.'
The Dance Moms alum has had several relationships with women since coming out in February 2021.
'In a weird way, I think [the pressure] came a little bit from inside the [LGBTQ] community at times. From people I know, from partners I've had,' she contended.
'You just get put in this world where you feel like, because you now have said, 'Oh, I'm a lesbian', you have to be a lesbian. And the truth is, sexuality is fluid.'
Siwa met her current love interest, Chris Hughes, 32, while they were both competing on Celebrity Big Brother UK.
The TV presenter defended Siwa after fellow contestant Mickey Rourke, 72, made homophobic comments.
The two became friends, and then 'platonic soulmates' and then it developed into something more with the couple going public with their romance earlier this month.
'I'll just say that it took time. It took time away and then it took time together.'
She now calls Hughes 'the favourite part of my life.'
For those who think the liaison is just for PR, they couldn't be more wrong, the Guilty Pleasure singer told The Guardian.
The cancellation came one day after Siwa revealed in an interview with Daily Mail that she felt pressured into identifying as a lesbian, even though she had originally come out as pansexual; Pictured in London on June 2
Siwa postponed the US leg of her tour earlier this month, hinting that more European dates might be added instead. The news comes amid the news Columbia Records had dropped her; Pictured in London in June 2024
'Clearly, you've never been around us. I won't ever speak for him, but for me personally, the happiness in my life just radiates off of me right now,' she told the outlet. 'Literally yesterday, I was massaging my cheeks; I've never [before] been in pain from smiling so much.'
The Karma artist was set to return to the US next week for the American leg of her tour, but an announcement made on the website jojosiwalive.com said the dates have been postponed, with those who bought tickets would receive a refund.
She also teased that there would be more shows in Europe announced soon in a hint that she could be staying in the UK for longer.
It comes just days after it was revealed JoJo has been dropped by record label Columbia just one year after being signed.

"Refunds will be issued at point of purchase." New direction JoJo is believed to be plotting to spend more time in the UK amid her blossoming romance with former Love Island star Chris. She has also reportedly been 'dropped by Columbia Records' after they signed JoJo just one year ago. Other stars on the record label's books include Adele, Beyoncé and Harry Styles. But the dancer is no longer listed on Columbia's website, where she was previously featured. The Sun previously contacted JoJo's rep for comment following the claims about her future with the record label. In a recent interview with Hits Radio, JoJo spoke about her new music and hinted that she was going it alone. JoJo admitted she choreographed and directed the music video for her current song Bulletproof and was turning over a new leaf with "more genuine" songs. 6 6 6

Common cruise cost-saving hack backfires as woman gets BANNED for life

A woman has been banned for life from a popular cruise line after sharing a video of her smuggling alcohol on board a ship. Courtney Murley posted a video detailing how to avoid paying for a costly drinks package on a cruise. She captioned the video, which got over 400k views on TikTok, 'Def waited until after I got home to post this! Hahahaha but it worked.' But it seems the video was brought to the attention of Carnival Cruise Lines who have now banned her from travelling with them again. In the viral video Ms Murley demonstrated how she was able to sneak alcohol on board the Carnival Conquest at the end of March. She said: 'Forget a drink package lol….okay we ended up drinking probably what we would of paid for a drink package anyways but still was fun to try and see if the rum runners would work.' Followers took to the comments to warn Ms Murley that there could be consequences. One user wrote: 'Wow. The last thing to do is post this and when you get banned whine about it not being alcohol. You ratted yourself out.' Ms Murley later shared a screenshot of a letter that she received from Carnival Cruise Lines banning her from future travel. It read: 'This letter is to inform you that you will not be able to sail onboard any Carnival Cruise Line vessel in the future due to the smuggling of alcohol onboard the Carnival Conquest on March 31st, 2025, and subsequently posting about it on social media platforms. 'Your attempt to book a future cruise will result in cancellation and a possible loss of deposit monies.' However, in a follow-up video, Ms Murley then claimed that she never actually smuggled alcohol onboard. Instead, she made up the story in what became a successful attempt to go viral. She said: 'What I'm mad about is that they are banning me for something that didn't happen,' she claimed. 'They said for smuggling alcohol. I did not smuggle alcohol. 'Not one ounce of alcohol was smuggled onto the ship.'
