Revanth asks TGSRTC workers to withdraw strike
Hyderabad:
Telangana chief minister
A
Revanth Reddy
has urged Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) workers to withdraw their proposal to go on strike from May 7 and discuss their issues with the transport minister. He assured that the state govt was committed to resolving their issues. He said the TGSRTC was just started to come back on track to make profits and a workers' strike would hamper the interests of the organisation and it was the responsibility of the workers to protect the organisation.
"The state govt would spend the entire revenue of the TGSRTC on the corporation and the govt will not take a single rupee of the corporation. The union leaders should suggest how it should be spent. It is my duty to tell you the fact that the state govt has been facing financial problems. We have just now started to recover from the mess and may take one more year. I urge all of you, do not fall into the trap of the people who could not do anything for you for the past 10 years," Revanth Reddy said while speaking at the
May Day celebrations
at Ravindra Bharathi on Thursday.
TGSRTC workers gave strike notices to the govt last month demanding the govt to resolve their issues including merger of the TGSRTC in the state govt which is pending for the past couple of years.
The CM said the Congress govt has been taking measures for the welfare of the workers in the organsitions such as Singareni, TGSRTC, power and unorganised sectors. "The state govt had given bonus to the Singareni workers. Gig workers policy for unorganized workers will be introduced soon," he said.

He claimed the previous govt discriminated against the workers and as many as 50 workers died during the TGSRTC strike during the BRS govt. "The state govt is ready to hold talks with the RTC workers on strike soon," the CM said.
Revanth said that Telangana had witnessed financial destruction in the past 10 years with 8.29 crore debt burden on the Congress govt. "The previous rulers left 50,000 crore bills pending to contractors and 1.20 lakh crore in other departments. The BRS govt is also responsible for long pending dues of Sarpanches. Kaleshwaram project, which was taken up at a cost of rupees one lakh crore collapsed in just three years. Ministers and myself have been spending sleepless nights for the last 15 months to rectify the mistakes," he claimed.
The chief minister asked the RTC workers to keep faith in him and he would stand by them.
'Make a Dalit as Leader of Opposition'
Revanth asked BRS president and leader of the opposition (LOP) K Chandrasekhar Rao to step down from the position and make a Dalit as LOP. "KCR made a promise to make a Dalit as CM if the separate Telangana is created. Now at least he can make a Dalit as LOP," he said.

'Jungle raj to vikas': PM Modi targets RJD, Congress in Bihar rally
In a high-voltage address in Bihar's Siwan district, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Opposition—Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)—accusing them of plunging Bihar into poverty, disrespecting Dalit icons, and stalling development for decades. The speech coincided with the launch and foundation laying of multiple infrastructure projects worth over ₹10,000 crore, marking a major development push ahead of the Assembly elections. 'Bihar became a symbol of poverty under the rule of 'Panja' [Congress] and 'Lantern' [RJD]. It is the NDA that has brought Bihar back on the path of development,' PM Modi said. Dynasty politics vs development: PM Modi sharpens attack Criticising dynastic politics, the Prime Minister said the NDA worked for 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas', while the Congress-RJD alliance believed in 'Parivaar Ka Saath, Parivaar Ka Vikas'. 'Congress's licence raj kept Bihar poor for years. While families of its leaders became rich, the people remained poor,' he said, adding that Dalits and backward communities suffered the most under previous regimes. 'Anti-Bihar, anti-investment mindset': PM Modi on Opposition PM Modi further accused the Opposition of having an 'anti-Bihar, anti-investment mindset'. 'They nurtured gunda raj, mafia raj, and corruption. The jungle raj rulers had completely shut down Bihar's engine of development. But today, an engine made in Bihar will power trains in Africa—this is the new India,' he said. He also praised the BJP-JD(U) government, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, for restoring the state's development momentum. ₹10,000 crore projects launched across key sectors PM Modi inaugurated and laid foundation stones for infrastructure projects across the water, rail, and power sectors worth more than ₹10,000 crore. These are aimed at improving employment opportunities and regional connectivity in Bihar. Ambedkar video controversy escalates political row The Prime Minister also criticised RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav over a viral video from his birthday celebration. The clip showed a supporter placing a portrait of Dr BR Ambedkar near Yadav's feet, allegedly without objection. 'RJD will never apologise because they don't respect Dalits. Babasaheb Ambedkar lives in my heart. The people of Bihar will never forgive this insult,' PM Modi said. The National Commission for Scheduled Castes has since written to the Bihar Chief Secretary seeking a report, while the state SC Commission has issued a notice to Yadav. PM Modi connects Bihar to India's global rise at G7 Referring to his recent trip to the G7 Summit in Canada, PM Modi said India's growing economic power is being noticed globally—and Bihar will be a key contributor. 'From makhana and vegetables to industrial goods, Bihar's products will reach global markets. Bihar will help power India's rise as the third-largest economy,' he said.

PM Modi targets RJD, Congress at rally in Bihar, credits NDA for progress
Modi also slammed the RJD for allegedly insulting Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar and said the people of the state would not tolerate the insult to the Dalit icon Press Trust of India Siwan Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched a scathing attack on the Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) at a public rally in Siwan, accusing them of pushing Bihar into poverty and lawlessness during their rule. Addressing the public meeting, the PM said the people of Bihar have ended the jungle raj created by the Congress-RJD combine. Modi also slammed the RJD for allegedly insulting Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar and said the people of the state would not tolerate the insult to the Dalit icon. The RJD and the Congress are responsible for the large-scale migration of labourers from Bihar and for the persistent poverty that plagued the state for decades, Modi alleged. He claimed that the RJD-Congress governance model was focused on "enriching their own families while ignoring the needs of the people". During the Congress's licence raj, their leaders became rich, but the public remained poor, he added. The RJD insulted Babasaheb and the people of Bihar will never forgive its leaders. Leaders of RJD and Congress keep photographs of the architect of the Country's Constitution near their feet. I keep his photograph close to my heart," the PM claimed. Taking a dig at RJD's political approach, Modi said, We believe in Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas', but they believe only in Parivaar Ka Vikas'. Modi warned that the RJD and the Congress, which according to him were responsible for Bihar's troubled past, are again eyeing power. They created the jungle raj, and now they want to return. But the people of Bihar will give them a fitting reply in the assembly elections, he said. The Bihar assembly elections are due in a few months. Highlighting the achievements of the NDA government, Modi claimed that Bihar has witnessed significant infrastructure development in recent years. Under the NDA, 55,000 km of rural roads were constructed, over 1.5 crore households were electrified, and piped water reached 26 crore people, he said. Modi said that the entire world was acknowledging India's development journey. During my recent foreign visit, several world leaders praised India's progress, he noted. Bihar would not forget insult: PM Modi slams RJD over Ambedkar portrait insult
PATNA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched a blistering attack on RJD chief Lalu Prasad after a portrait of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar was purportedly seen placed near someone's feet. Modi said the people of Bihar would never forget such an insult to the Dalit icon. 'RJD and Congress keep Baba Saheb at their feet, I keep him in my heart,' Modi remarked, lashing out at Lalu Prasad without directly naming him, during a public meeting held at Jasauli in Siwan district. 'The entire country has seen how RJD behaved with the portrait of Baba Saheb. Posters have been put up asking them to apologise for insulting him, but I know they never will, because they have no respect for Dalits and the extremely backward class. By insulting Ambedkar, they want to show they are bigger than him in stature,' he added. Modi continued his scathing criticism by drawing a contrast between his government and the opposition. 'I emphasise Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, but for RJD and Congress, it is only Parivar Ka Saath, Parivar Ka Vikas,' he said, while launching and laying foundation stones for various projects.
