Stephen Hendry quizzed about snooker comeback and offers immediate response

Legendary seven-time world snooker champion Stephen Hendry has admitted he has no plans for another snooker comeback. The 56-year-old was joined by Australian snooker star Neil Robertson on his YouTube channel when asked if he would consider another comeback from the sidelines.
Hendry initially retired from professional snooker in 2012 after an illustrious 27-year career which saw him win 18 Triple Crown tournaments. He also secured a record-breaking seven World Snooker Championship titles, which was later matched by Ronnie O'Sullivan.

The snooker legend also competed in 57 ranking finals and emerged victorious in an impressive 36 of them. The Scot is high in the debate of the sport's greatest players, but he isn't motivated to add to his illustrious record in future.

He made a surprise return to the sport in 2020 when he accepted a two-year invitational tour card for the main World Snooker Tour. He attributed his decision to improved form and confidence, but those same factors are no longer in play.
Hendry potted the black ball while playing Robertson on his Cue Tips YouTube channel (via the Daily Express), which led the 2010 world champion to ask: "You going to make a second comeback with the way you're playing?" Hendry simply answered with a smile: "No."
Despite only securing three wins out of 20 matches during his four-year second tenure on the tour, Hendry announced his second retirement from snooker last year. That was despite being offered the opportunity to continue on the main tour with a two-year invitational card.

Since then, he has focused on his punditry work and his YouTube channel, which is nearing 400,000 subscribers. On top of that, he also co-hosts the Snooker Club podcast with Mark Watson.
Despite his legendary status in snooker, Hendry modestly excluded himself from his own snooker Mount Rushmore when asked to pick five icons for induction into the Snooker Club's Hall of Fame. But a collection of other wizened stars did make the cut, with obvious pick Ronnie O'Sullivan included at the top.

"It's very close between Mark Williams and John Higgins, I'd prefer to have them joint-second," he said. "I'll go with Mark just because of his recent record against John at the Crucible.
Hendry made the revelation on his Cue Tips YouTube channel

"He is a freak of nature, he has the best temperament of any sportsman I have seen. He maybe hasn't got the cue power of others, but he has great touch, and he is just a brilliant potter."

Williams recently finished runner-up to Zhao Xintong in the 2025 World Snooker Championship. And at 50 years old, he became the oldest player ever to make the final of the competition, possibly giving some fans hope there's life in Hendry yet as a competitor.
Hendry then positioned Mark Selby, a four-time world champion, in fourth place. And he deliberated over including either current world No. 1 Judd Trump or six-time world champion Steve Davis for the fifth spot.
"In fifth could be Judd Trump because of what he has won and his centuries, but he only has one world title," he said. "So I'm going for Steve Davis based on his utter domination of the 1980s."

The tennis ace faces Czech opponent Jiri Lehecka in West Kensington today with a prize pot of £350,773 up for grabs for the winner. ‌ Alcaraz is fresh from beating Jannik Sinner in a thrilling French Open final at Roland Garros where he fought back from an almost impossible position to beat the Italian in the latest instalment of their rivalry. ‌ Novak Djokovic views both players as beneficial to the sport, saying: "They're definitely great for tennis, both of them. I think their rivalry is something that our sport needs, no doubt. "The way they are playing and approaching tennis life, I think they are going to have very successful careers in the next years." His relationships have notably come into focus amid his rising profile in the world of tennis. After clinching his latest Wimbledon title, the tennis world buzzed with curiosity about Alcaraz's rapport with British tennis star Emma Raducanu, who was seen supporting him from Centre Court. ‌ She also came to see him play in the last four at Queen's on Saturday, being pictured on the Queen's balcony. After securing his 17th win in succession, Alcaraz beamed: "I saw on social media she came up to watch my match. I'm just glad. "I mean, I was focused on the match. I didn't see her afterwards. I am just glad that she came to support me, to watch my match. Yeah, I think it was great having her in the stands." ‌ Alcaraz expressed his enthusiasm to support her at a match before the US Open, saying: "It depends on the schedule, obviously. I have practices. I have matches. "Yeah, I would love to, yeah, if I have time, if I'm at the club or I don't have anything else to do, yeah, I would love to come and watch her. I'm watching her matches from the TV every time that I can. So watching her for real could be fun." Alcaraz and Raducanu will be paired with each other at the US Open later this year. ‌ Alcaraz said of their partnership: "I'm super excited about it. I think it's going to be great. It was an amazing idea for the tournament. I was thinking that I couldn't play better if it wasn't with Emma. "I just asked Emma if she wants to play doubles with me. Yeah, I made that special request. She took a while to respond. Not that much, not that much! But obviously she had to ask, and she had to think a little bit. But it wasn't a minute! "I have known Emma for a really long time. I have a really good relationship with her. We are gonna enjoy it for sure. We will try to win. But obviously it's going to be really, really fun." ‌ Alcaraz previously dated within the tennis circle, and was linked with fellow Spanish player Maria Gonzalez Gimenez of Murcia Tennis Club, known for participating in Spanish Masters and ATP Challenger tournaments. The details of their time together are somewhat unclear, but Maria, who juggles a law degree at the University of Murcia with her tennis, is thought to have been in a long-term relationship with Alcaraz before their split. A picture capturing an intimate moment between them was even shared on his Instagram story, as highlighted by Tennis Tonic. However, the Spanish prodigy has confirmed he is currently single. ‌ Addressing questions about his personal life, he affirmed: "No, I am single. I am looking for someone." In discussing the end of their relationship, he mentioned: "It can be difficult as a tennis player to meet the right person because you are travelling all the time." Alcaraz boasts a portfolio of impressive endorsements, including a decade-long deal with Nike purportedly valued at £12million to £15.8million annually. Abandoned 50,000 capacity stadium to be DEMOLISHED after becoming overrun by nature following 20 years of neglect

However, after the modernisation of stadiums and updates to Fifa and Czech FA criteria for the quality of grounds, Zbrojcka were forced to leave their historic home in 2001. Since then it has sat empty, disappearing into the overgrown nature and looking worse for wear as each year of neglect passes. In 2012, plans were drawn up to allow Zbrojovka to return thanks to the reconstruction of the stadium, but amid financial concerns, the project was put on hold. READ MORE IN FOOTBALL GROUND BREAKING Premier League club set to get green light for £130m stadium expansion Now plans are in place to finally demolish the ground after authorities decided to remove the colossal building back in 2023. According to Czech outlet Brno Daily, the city council are currently looking for a contractor to demolish the stands after areas surrounding the ground have been closed due to safety reasons. It's claimed that the demolition could happen as early as October of this year, but must be completed by February 2026 at the latest. Reports claim that the cost of demolishing the derelict arena are expected to reach around £5.7MILLION. 8 A farewell game was played in the stadium in 2015 Credit: YouTube / FanKometa 8 Fans packed into the ground to say goodbye Credit: YouTube / FanKometa CASINO SPECIAL - BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS For now, the stadium remains in its overgrown state of disrepair until the the demolition is completed. Plans have outlined how the ground will be grassed over and become freely accessible to the public once it has been knocked to the ground. Birmingham give update on new £3billion stadium as they announce major development While there is already thought to be dialogue over further development of the area in the future. Fortunately fans already got to say their emotional farewell to the stadium in 2015, after Zbrojovka captain Petr Svancara took it upon himself to start a crowdfunding project to allow a goodbye game. His campaign, which was backed by fans, eventually saw the stadium reopen in 2015 for 35,000 fans to watch one final match. Svancara, who once revealed there was a crack running underneath the ground, discussed the dire state of the stadium in an interview with The Guardian. He said: "When we came back for the first time, you could have shot a beautiful horror film there… "The stadium had started to crumble and it was for political reasons. "It needed reconstruction but nobody would take care of it. The club was moved to Srbska and Luzanky was filled with trees and bushes. "Homeless people lived in the stands, and the vegetation that started to take over even became home for some rare species of bird. "There was one funny pheasant that we ousted from the stadium when we came back but it kept returning several times – he simply came back home. "Leaving Luzanki divided the fans into two groups – one of which loved Luzanky too much and did not want to go to another stadium "That was the case with the older generation in particular. It hurt the identity of the club enormously."
