
Health dept asks hosps to stock adequate quantity of medicines
Hyderabad: Following the directions of the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, the Health Department has geared up to stockpile enough essential medicines in the wake of India's precision attack on the terrorist hideouts in POK and Pakistan on Wednesday.
According to the sources, the officials were asked to check the medicine stocks in all the primary health centres, urban primary health centres and Basti Dawakhanas in the state.
They were asked to give priority to stock life saving medicines and keep the emergency teams on alert to face any eventuality during the next few days. A senior official said that there were 638 Primary Health Centres, 248 Urban Primary Health Centres and 468 Basti Davakhanas in the State.
The staff including the DMHOs will be asked to regularly check the medicinal stock and approach the central medicine stores in their respective districts. If there is any shortage, the medicines will be supplied through vehicles provided to the CMS. In a high level meeting at the Integrated Command Control Center (ICCC), the CM directed the officials to have comprehensive security and emergency measures across Telangana.
Reviewing the readiness of blood banks, emergency medicines, hospital beds, and food stocks, the CM wanted the health officials to have coordination with the Red Cross.
The meetings came after India armed forces carried out attacks on the terrorist hideouts in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir and also in Pakistan. The official said that the government hospital superintendents and higher officials of the various wings should monitor the stocks. If there is a requirement for any medicine, this should be brought to the notice of the higher officials so that they can be supplied.

An event was held at Lok Bandhu Hospital where Satyendra Bari and Swatantra Prakash Gupta encouraged people to adopt yoga as a lifelong habit. Director Dr Sangeeta Gupta emphasised yoga's relevance in women's health, while CMS Dr Rajeev Dixit gave the slogan 'Karo Yog, Raho Nirog'. Max Hospital and Era Medical College also organised yoga camps focused on promoting regular practice for well-being. At Max Hospital, Dr Ambukeshwar Singh highlighted yoga's importance in improving the health of heart.

Telangana Governor, CM to participate in International Yoga Day fete
HYDERABAD: The state government will celebrate International Yoga Day in a grand manner on Saturday at GMC Balayogi Stadium, Gachibowli. The event will see the participation of Governor Jishnu Dev Verma, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha and other ministers and celebrities. The yoga session, scheduled from 6 am to 9 am, will include around 5,000 participants. The Ayush and health departments have completed all arrangements for the event. As part of its ongoing efforts to promote yoga at the grassroots level, the state government appointed 628 yoga teachers last year and recently issued a notification for the appointment of over 250 more.

According to the officials, about 5,000 people will be performing Yoga marking International Yoga Day at 6 am to 9 am on Saturday. The government has decided to organize International Yoga Day celebrations in a grand manner. Officials of the AYUSH and Health departments have completed the arrangements for this program to be organized with about 5,000 people. The yoga session will start at 6 am. The Governor, CM, ministers and celebrities will perform yoga in this session. With the aim of bringing yoga closer to every household in the state, the government appointed 628 yoga teachers last year. This year, a notification was issued for the appointment of more than 250 yoga teachers. Yoga classes were being conducted every day from 7 am to 9 am in Ayushman health centers (sub-centers) across the state. AYUSH department officials said that the newly appointed yoga teachers have taught yoga to 5 lakh new people. Special yoga classes were being conducted for pregnant women and patients suffering from chronic diseases. Plans were being made to make yoga part of everyone's life in the future.
