
Seeb crowned Omantel League champions

Seeb Club officially secured the title of the 48th edition of the Omantel League after concluding their season with a 1-1 draw against Al Nasr in the final round, held at Seeb Sports Stadium. Seeb had already clinched the title a round before the league's conclusion, claiming the championship shield for the fourth time in the club's history.
The first half saw balanced play from both teams, with Seeb holding slight control over the match but without creating real threats on either goal, ending the half in a goalless draw.
In the second half, Al Nasr came out stronger and showed a clear intention to score, which they achieved in the 75th minute with a penalty successfully converted by their professional player Saonina. However, Seeb quickly responded with an equaliser in the 82nd minute through Kamara, bringing the game to a 1-1 draw.
Following the match, a special award ceremony was held under the auspices of Talal bin Said al Maamari, CEO of Omantel, with fans celebrating as Seeb's players lifted the championship shield, marking another milestone in the club's history.
AL NAHDA CLAIM RUNNERS-UP SPOT
Al Nahda secured second place in the league after defeating Al Rustaq 2-0 at Al Buraimi Sports Complex. Abdullah Jumaa scored the opener in the 14th minute, capitalising on Al Nahda's dominance in possession and wing attacks. Al Rustaq relied on counter-attacks and long balls but failed to threaten Al Nahda's goal. The first half ended 1-0 in favour of Al Nahda.
In the second half, Al Rustaq tried to stage a comeback but was denied by Al Nahda's solid defence. Al Nahda sealed the win with a second goal in the 88th minute by Jamal al Wahshi, securing a valuable victory.
With this result, Al Nahda finished second with 47 points, while Al Rustaq remained on 23 points in 10th place.
SOHAR AVOID RELEGATION
Sohar secured their place in the league after defeating Oman Club 2-0 at Sohar Sports Complex in the final round, raising their tally to 24 points. Oman Club, already assured of third place, remained on 44 points.
The first half was evenly contested, with both teams hitting the crossbar in key chances, ending goalless.
Sohar took control early in the second half, opening the scoring in the 50th minute through Saud al Muqbali after a precise assist from Abdullah al Shibli. Sohar continued pressing and added a second goal in the 66th minute, this time with Al Shibli finding the net.
Oman Club pushed to get back in the game, but Sohar's defence held firm to secure the win and confirm their league survival.
IBRI OUT
Ibri were relegated to the First Division after falling 1-0 to Al Khabourah at Al Rustaq Sports Complex. Despite Ibri's constant attempts, Al Khabourah snatched the winner in the 65th minute through Amir Alaa.
Ibri finished second from bottom with 20 points, while Al Khabourah climbed to fourth with 31 points.
Saham ended their campaign with a 2-1 victory over Sur on Thursday at Sur Sports Complex in a match that was not televised.
With this result, Saham moved to 29 points, securing fifth place in the final league standings, while Sur remained at the bottom with 18 points.
Elsewhere, Bahla claimed a convincing 4-3 win over Al Shabab at Nizwa Sports Complex.
Abdulsalam al Shukaili scored all four goals for Bahla (a super hat-trick), while Al Shabab's goals came from Ahed al Hudaifi, Mohammed al Ghafri and Masoud al Bahri.
Bahla finished the season with 28 points in sixth place, edging Al Shabab who also had 28 points into Fifth place on goal difference.

MUSCAT, June 20 In a glittering celebration of a successful sporting season, Seeb Club organised a special event to honour the club's top athletes and teams for their remarkable achievements during the 2024–2025 season. The event continued with the presentation of awards by the chief guest to the club's star performers and coaching staff. The 2024–2025 season witnessed a series of triumphs across multiple disciplines including senior football team as they were crowned champions of the Omantel League and winners of the prestigious OFA Cup. Volleyball team managed to dominate all the titles of the season as they registered triple titles including first division league, Ministry's Shield, and Super Cup. The first team of the Basketball achieved a domestic double as they secured both the league and the Ministry's Shield titles. The U-17 football team clinched the League Championship title and showcased the strength of Seeb's youth pipeline. Junior basketball team stars also captured the league title. Seeb Football Club Academy achieved remarkable success internationally as they snatched both the Oval Championship and the Manchester City Club title. The head coach of Seeb volleyball team, Jamal al Maamari, said that this event is a crucial event for the athletes in the club as all the sporting staff came under one roof in a glittering annual awards. ' Thanks to the board directors for this yearly event and it is a great motivation for the players to deliver more in the forthcoming seasons. Seeb club is one of the successful clubs in the Sultanate of Oman due to proper planning in all their sporting activities,' he said. ' We are working very hard to compete at Asian level in the next season as we dominated at the domestic level besides our achievements at the Arabian level. Ahli Sidab crowned 2025 OHL champions
MUSCAT, MAY 22 Ahli Sidab Club secured the 2025 Oman Hockey League title after a narrow 1-0 victory over Seeb Club in a thrilling final match at the Oman Hockey Stadium in Al Amerat on Wednesday night. The match, attended by Azzan bin Qasim al Busaidy, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, and Dr Marwan bin Juma al Juma, Chairman of the Oman Hockey Association, was filled with excitement and competitive spirit. The match began cautiously, with both teams sharing possession without creating real chances, ending the first quarter goalless. The second quarter followed a similar pattern with no goals scored. In the third quarter, Ahli Sidab's Rashad al Fazari broke the deadlock, converting a well-executed penalty corner into the only goal of the match. Despite Seeb's attempts to equalise, Ahli Sidab maintained their lead to end the quarter ahead.
