Days of our Lives Spoilers June 5: Jennifer and Jack Face a Shocking Reunion
Days of our Lives spoilers for Thursday, June 5, welcome back Jennifer and Jack, while Gabi doesn't feel too welcome back in Ari's life.
John's (Drake Hogysten) death triggered many tears, but it also triggered the return of Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) and Jack (Matthew Ashford). How will they feel when they learn that their son-in-law and father of their grandchildren, Chad (Billy Flynn), is going out on a date with Cat (AnnaMarie McCord), the woman who lied and pretended to be their late daughter, Abigail (Marci Miller), to the point where she almost married Chad — so she could kill him and inherit his money?
Chad has gotten over it. After all, she did it for her mother and her sister and her brother and… well, she has all the excuses. But Jennifer and Jack are likely to be less charmed… or convinced.

Ari (Marissa Reyes) left Salem and her mom to live with her dads as a little girl. Now she's back — and she's all grown up. Or, at least, she thinks she is. She thinks she's old enough to sneak out of the house and spend the night with Doug (Peyton Meyer), whom she picked up in a bar (where she's not enough to drink yet, though the show made a point of reminding us she was 18 and, at least, legal).
She also thinks she's too old to have her mom lecture her about it — or about anything, actually. But does Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) seem like the type to give in to her kids' tantrums?
Tate (Leo Howard) is sad about his Grandpa John's death. Holly (Ashley Puzemis) comforts him. Which means she isn't there to teach Doug poetry.
Doug has other things on his mind, anyway. He still wants to find the necklace he stole from Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes). Maybe Leo (Greg Rikaart) can help him? Leo does think he's a crack investigative reporter.

During their discussion, Jack Altman said that customer service-related jobs are already being replaced. Sam Altman says he's not afraid of this looming upheaval, because society has shown a limitless potential to adapt, even if "a lot of jobs go away" and their replacements appear "sillier and sillier looking from our current perspective." "We have always been really good at figuring out new things to do, and ways to occupy ourselves, and status games or ways to be useful to each other," Altman said, "And I'm like not a believer that that ever runs out." The changes, Altman said, will also be less dramatic for the next generation, which will grow up not knowing what life was like before. "It's not going to ever seem to weird to him," Altman said of his son. "He's just going to grow up in a world where, of course, computers are smarter than him. He'll just figure out how to use them incredibly fluently and do amazing stuff."

Days of Our Lives Recap: Xander and Sarah Clash Over Victoria originally appeared on Daytime Confidential. On today's Days of Our Lives recap: Titan/DiMera: Stephanie arrives to see Alex. She wants to see if he can head out, but Alex says he has to cover with both Xander and Philip out. He promises they will soon make up for lost time. The couple begin to make out and he leans her over the desk. As they are about to go full press, Kate arrives, and Stephanie makes a quick exit. Kate tells Alex what she walked in on could have been a page out of 'One Stormy Night.' She admits she is loving the book but has misplaced it. He can't imagine what he's going to tell the author. Kate apologizes and says she's been distracted with Philip and John. Alex understands and Kate goes on to say how worried she is someone will take the manuscript and use it as their own. Kate promises to keep looking and Alex says the job offer is still open to her. She says she still has to decline the offer because she couldn't possibly work for Xander. Kiriakis Mansion: Maggie and Sarah are sipping tea and discussing John's funeral. Maggie says dying a hero was fitting for him as it's the way he lived. Maggie remembers Sarah being hit by the car the year before and how John's intuition told him Brady was always innocent (Can we please get Xander's mother back?). Sarah talks a bit about Xander and feels so foolish to have believed he had changed (I don't like the Xander is to blame narrative here). Sarah says she loves Xander but realizes love might not be enough. She can't believe she wasted time feeling so guilty for keeping the secret when Xander did exactly what she thought he would (Again, that doesn't mean you are free and clear Miss Sarah). She talks a bit about their last confrontation and Maggie thinks Xander is trying to blame Sarah for something he has already done. Sarah worries as Xander wants to see Victoria. She knows he would never hurt her nor Victoria but is concerned she'll get sucked back into his orbit. Sarah considers taking Victoria and going on the run. Maggie begs Sarah to be careful. She knows Xander is likely to go to prison, but a judge can rule on a custody battle in all kinds of different ways. Knowing Xander would never hurt Victoria, why in the world would Sarah ever consider going on the run. Horton Square: Xander has bought a dress for Victoria when EJ walks up to give him the business about the hospital vote. Xander tells him to piss off and walks away. Salem PD: Jada and Belle discuss John. Belle says she needs to be distracted and wants to get back to work on Philip and EJ's cases. Jada can't believe Xander was granted bail. Belle says she is deadest on prosecuting him. Shawn Douglas arrives and tells Belle he's there to support her. She has no time and quickly exits. Jada inquires and he says they are just awkward around each other. She says she is sorry for his loss and asks what's up. Shawn D apologizes for lying about being sick the other day. Jada admits she knows the entire story and is thrilled Bo is on the mend. Shawn D is thrilled as well but is devastated by John's passing. He starts to go into the details of the mission, but she stops him, so she has plausible deniability. University Hospital – Philip's Room: Kayla enters, and Kate asks about John's wake. Kayla says it was a perfect celebration of John's life. Kate says she would have been there but needed to be near Philip. Kayla understands and says his labs show much improvement. Kate doesn't want to leave as she fears her son's life is still in danger. She can't wait for him to wake up so he can identify Xander as his attacker. Kate mentions her misplaced manuscript and says she hates she can't read more to him, even though it's somewhat inappropriate. Kate begs her son to wake up so they can catch up. She kisses him on the forehead and exits the room. Brady Pub: Outside, Xander runs into Kayla. She goes off on him and Xander assumes Sarah has poisoned the water. Kayla is furious that his inability to control his anger may have ruined his life for good. With that, she storms off. Xander is sitting on the bench when Sarah calls asking him to meet up. Horton Square: Belle is chatting with Claire about her grandpa John's funeral. She says she is going to wrap up some cases and pay her and Theo a visit. She hangs up but then spots EJ and pretends to still be talking. Just then, EJ walks up and catches her in the midst of pretending. He asks her to be honest if she doesn't want to see him. Belle says she doesn't know if she can deal with their relationship at this point in time. EJ understands but wishes he could be there to support her. With that, he exits. Shawn Douglas walks up and finds Belle alone and asks to talk. He says he just spoke with Claire Bear and learned she is headed soon to South Africa. They agree they could be trusted to visit their daughter at the same time. University Hospital – Lobby: Kayla walks in and doesn't realize the manuscript is on the desk. Jus then, Stephanie arrives to talk to her mother. She asks about her father and closing down Black Patch. Kayla says she is just as concerned but selfishly wants him to lead a safer existence. Stephanie asks if she could host a special dinner to celebrate her father to life his spirits. Kayla thinks it's a great idea and Stephanie makes her exit. Kiriakis Mansion: Xander arrives and wants to talk about Victoria. Sarah says she won't even consider joint custody. He asks what she's considering, and Sarah says he can have supervised visitation at the mansion. She says she will agree to her terms or do nothing and Xander agrees. Xander wants to go upstairs to see his daughter but Sarah gets all kinds of shouty and says she makes the rules now because he tried to kill his brother (Again, this narrative drives me insane). Xander says Sarah is responsible for setting the tone for everything that's happening now. Sarah counters his violent tendencies will be responsible for him missing his daughter's formative years (Ugh). Stephanie's Place: Stephanie arrives home and asks Jada if she's willing to attend a dinner for her father and his retirement. Jada agrees and just then Alex arrives. He begins to undress before he sees Jada behind him. She decides to run an errand and says she will meet up with them at The Bistro later in the evening. University Hospital – Kayla's Office: EJ arrives to see Kayla. He says how much he is looking forward to working together. They go back and forth, and Kayla reluctantly agrees to work with the hospital's new owner. Endings Kayla tells EJ about Bo's miraculous recovery via Versavix. Ej admits to being excited about the money-making potential but also wants to make sure the hospital survives. With that, he presents her with a plan, including changes, that will help the institution move forward. Stephanie tells Alex about the upcoming dinner/celebration for her father, after which they can celebrate. Belle tells Shawn Douglas she is confused about her feelings. He admits he is confused as well. Shawn D says he wants to support Belle in whatever way he can. She gets it and knows she dan count on him. With that, they embrace… just as EJ arrives on the scene. Sarah tells Maggie how much she hates Xander even though she really loves him. Xander arrives in Philip's hospital room… Kate tells Roman she will be home soon. On today's Days of Our Lives recap: Horton House: Jennifer Rose and Jack are getting ready to attend Steve's retirement dinner. She pulls out a cupcake and wishes her beloved happy birthday. Jack says he hasn't wanted to celebrate his birthday as it is forever linked with Abigail's murder. JRo wants him to remember how their daughter always wanted to make the biggest deal out of birthdays. He reluctantly takes the cupcake and blows out the candle. Jennifer Rose asks what he wished for. She says hers would be to never hear the name Cat Greene again. Stephanie's Pad: Alex is all nervous for being around Stephanie's parents that evening. She tries to calm his fears but has to admit Steve has some reservations about him. Alex asks for specifics and Stephanie says her mom relayed his worries about his playboy past and having been raised by Angelica. Stephanie notes he has let go of his playboy ways and was also raised by Justin and Adrianne. She tells him to relax and quickly undresses her beau. Steve and Kayla's Digs: Steve is surprised when Bonnie arrives, but she asks if he doesn't recognize his own sister. She notes the differences between the two and he says Bonnie is alive and she is dead. Adrianne agrees which leads him to ask how she's there. Adrianne says he is dreaming. Steve was hoping she was a back from the dead miracle. Adrianne says she is there to deliver a message to say John is healed now and she is going to watch out for him. He thanks his sister and begins to cry. Adrianne cries as well and they both admit they miss each other. Just then, Steve awakens on the sofa. University Hospital – Lobby: Sarah and Kayla discuss EJ's budget proposal which was somewhat disappointing. Sarah says she is available for more night shifts as she doesn't have a husband to go home to. Kayla says she ran into Xander earlier and gave him what for. Sarah doesn't want to talk about it and asks about Kayla's plans for the evening. She tells her about the celebration of Steve's retirement before making her exit. Just then, Kate walks up and asks her to keep an eye out for the manuscript. She sees the man who is supposed to be guarding Philip's room which leads her and Sarah to take off to check on him. University Hospital – Philip's Room: Xander stands over Philip with a pillow when his brother opens his eyes. Sarah and Kate run in and find Philip awake. Xander says he was there visiting his brother. He stands back with Sarah as Kate tries to communicate with her son. He clearly doesn't know what's going on. Xander says he was worried about Philip, but Sarah tells him to leave. With that, he exits. Philip asks why he's in the hospital and Kate said she was hoping he could tell them. Sarah stops her and says she needs to examine him. Kate exits and Philip tells Sarah he feels like he was hit by a truck. Sarah inquires and he admits he's a little fuzzy about what happened to him. Before she can order some tests, Philip asks why Xander was in his room. Steve and Kayla's Digs: Kayla arrives home, and Steve says he just got up from a nap where he dreamed of Adrianne. He runs down the details and Kayla recalls Caroline saying dreams are a place angels can visit them. She mentions meeting up with Stephanie for dinner, but he says he's not up to it. Kayla pushes saying a night out with their daughter will lift his spirits. She admits Stephanie is already there. The Bistro: Stephanie, Alex, Jack and Jennifer Rose arrive awaiting Steve and Kayla. They arrive and he is clearly caught off guard by the surprise. He thanks his daughter who says she also invited Bo and Hope but says they wanted some time alone. Steve ribs Alex a bit before they all take a seat. Jack can't believe Steve is shutting down Black Patch. Steve notes he has now been in Salem for 40 years. Alex asks what brought him to town and Steve tells the story of him and Bo in the merchant marines and how fighting with him over a woman led to him losing his eye. Flashback: Kayla wants to take down Steve's eye patch so she can end to his wounds. He freaks out as no one had ever seen it. Later, he tells her that he doesn't want people to think he is a freak. Steve tells the table he was only able to turn his life around because of Kayla's love. She says reconnecting with his family also helped. Stephanie notes Angelica probably told Alex about Steve and Jack being adopted as children. Flashback: Adrianne pushes Steve to realize they are brother and sister. Afterwards, she tells him they also have a little brother. She says she was born after he was sent away. Steve says Adrianne was the heart and soul of their family. Jack says Steve is the rock. He goes on to mention how Steve gave him a kidney. Flashback: Jack is in the hospital and Steve all but begs him to let him donate a kidney to save his life. Tripp, Joey and Wendy call in and chat with the folks at the table. Afterwards, Jada arrives and takes a seat and tells the table that Philip is awake. Stephanie explains how Steve and Marcus grew up together in an orphanage. Steve notes when they reconnected, they picked right up where they left off. Flashback: Steve convincing Marcus to play the elf to his Santa. Steve says Marcus was the best and passed away too soon. Jada walks over to Steve saying she has to go to the hospital. They embrace and she exits. Jack asks Steve if he would be willing to take on one more case. Jennifer Rose says it would mean so much to her entire family if they could find Grandma Alice's necklace. Steve notes is earlier conversation with Bo about possibly partnering up with him and Hope. He calls Bo and they agree to meet up the next day to discuss the case. Jack and JRo say they are headed back to Boston but will check in. Before they leave, Steve wishes Billy Jack a happy birthday. They all hug and Jack and JRo exit (those hugs with Jack and Kayla are always awkward to watch). Steve hugs his little sweetness and thanks her for the party. Alex says his goodbyes and Steve and Kayla exit. Alex is still convinced Steve hates him. Horton Square: Jada calls out to Xander. She got a call from Kate and says they need to chat about Philip. Jada mentions how Xander was conveniently able to see Philip after the officer standing guard became mysteriously ill. She pushes a bit more before telling Xander not to leave town. Jack and Jennifer Rose stroll through the square. He tells her that he wished for them to return to Salem as often as possible. She promises they will make that wish come true. University Hospital – Lobby: Kate calls Roman to fill him in when Sarah returns to say Philip is resting. Kate says she's going to text Jada so she can come by to question her son. The Bistro: Xander arrives and chats with Alex and Stephanie before taking a seat at the bar. University Hospital – Philip's Room: Jada arrives to chat with Philip, and he reluctantly agrees. Jada asks if he remembers what happened to him. He says he remembers being the victim of a brutal beating but says Xander was not the culprit. Kayla and Steve's Digs: Kayla is less than thrilled about Steve's unretirement but knows he is who he is and doesn't want him to change. Steve says how lucky he is to have the family and friends he has and to be surrounded by so much love. Steve thanks his beloved for never giving up on him. He says how much he loves Kayla and their life together. With that, they kiss. Endings We flashback to the life and times of Steve Johnson in Salem.
