Chloe Peterson, IndyStar: Fever 86-78
"The Fever have been hitting their stride, and I don't think it's going to stop at Golden State. Indiana has won two straight, including handing New York its first loss on Saturday and making the Commissioner's Cup final after Tuesday's game.
"The Valkyries have already have more wins than each of the past two expansion teams in their first seasons (Atlanta went 4-30 in 2008, Chicago went 5-29 in 2006).
"Still, Indiana has more experience. Caitlin Clark has two straight 20-point games since her return (32 against New York, 20 against Connecticut) and the Fever seem to be clicking on all cylinders.
"Golden State has a heavily international roster, with five players currently unavailable because of the Eurobasket competition. The Valkyries have signed replacements, but they have a short time to get acclimated."

Fever: DeWanna Bonner (personal) is out.
Valkyries: Carla Leite (back) is questionable.
In six games this season, Caitlin Clark averages 21.3 points, 8.7 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 1.3 steals, making 40% of her 3-pointers.

WNBA Rival Points Out Caitlin Clark's Influence in All-Star Voting

WNBA Rival Points Out Caitlin Clark's Influence in All-Star Voting originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has been one of the main reasons the WNBA has seen a major increase in attention over the past couple of seasons. Since going No. 1 overall in the 2024 draft, TV ratings, ticket sales and jersey sales have all climbed, especially for the Fever and their players. Advertisement With the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game set for July 19 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, fan voting is already in full swing. On Friday, the league released its first update on the top vote-getters. Out of the top 40 players listed, eight of them came from the Fever, including four in the top 10. Here is where each of them stands: (1) Caitlin Clark, Guard - 515,993 (3) Aliyah Boston, Frontcourt - 446,961 (7) Kelsey Mitchell, Guard - 277,664 (9) Lexie Hull, Guard - 217,438 (16) Natasha Howard, Frontcourt - 158,331 (23) Sophie Cunningham, Guard - 95,116 (30) Damiris Dantas, Frontcourt - 72,262 (38) DeWanna Bonner, Frontcourt - 56,775 Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (22) celebrates after scoring a 3-pointer.© Grace Smith/IndyStar / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images Minnesota Lynx guard Courtney Williams noticed how the Fever had eight of the top 40 vote-getters and discussed it on her Twitch stream, "studbudz." "They whole starting five was on that list," Williams said. "Even folks that came off they bench was on that list, bro. No cap. That's crazy, bro, but that really show you the influence that Caitlin Clark got." Advertisement "No, facts," her teammate Natisha Hiedeman replied. "Her influence is insane," Williams said. "And people try to say that... Let's just state the facts, bro," Hiedeman said. "You can't even hate on it cause it's like you got motion," Williams said. While this update gives a good sense of who might make the All-Star game, it's important to remember that it's just the first update, and fan voting only accounts for 50% of the final vote. The other half is split evenly between current players and a media panel. Once the league has announced the players who make it, the WNBA will host a draft to determine the rosters. The results of the draft will be revealed on July 8. Caitlin Clark Sends Strong Two-Word Message to Aliyah Boston After Fever Loss

Caitlin Clark Sends Strong Two-Word Message to Aliyah Boston After Fever Loss originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Indiana Fever faced the Golden State Valkyries for the first time in franchise history on Thursday night, with the Valkyries taking part in their inaugural season. Advertisement Things looked good for the Fever, who held a 13-point lead at one point, but that disappeared in the fourth quarter as Golden State came back to win 88-77. Caitlin Clark struggled mightily shooting the ball, going 3-of-14 from the field, 0-for-7 from three, and finishing with 11 points, seven rebounds and nine assists. Her teammate, Aliyah Boston, however, stood out, recording 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field, along with 12 rebounds and one assist. On Friday, one day after the game, Boston took to social media to share photos of her pregame outfit and moments from the game. "🤍," she captioned the post. As many others did, Clark saw the post and left a short message for Boston in the comment section. Advertisement "Slay baby," Clark said. Caitlin Clark's comment on Aliyah Boston's post.@ Clark and Boston have been teammates on the Fever since the start of last season, but they also played together in 2021 as members of Team USA at the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup. Together, they won gold after defeating Australia 70-52. Now, their focus is on bringing a championship to Indiana. Both were No. 1 overall picks by the Fever—Boston in 2023 and Clark in 2024. They'll regroup and shake off the loss to the Valkyries as they get set to face the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET. Caitlin Clark Reacts to WNBA All-Star Voting Numbers

Caitlin Clark Reacts to WNBA All-Star Voting Numbers originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Indiana Fever have the honor of hosting this year's WNBA All-Star Game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, and Caitlin Clark is all but guaranteed to be there. Given her popularity and performance on the court this season, it seems like only a matter of time before her selection is made official. Advertisement Through seven games, the reigning Rookie of the Year is averaging 19.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 8.7 assists. On Friday, the WNBA released the first update on fan voting, and Clark led the way with a league-high 515,993 votes. She wasn't the only Fever player on the list of top 40 leaders in the first fan returns, as Aliyah Boston, Kelsey Mitchell, Lexie Hull, Natasha Howard, Sophie Cunningham, Damiris Dantas and DeWanna Bonner were also included. Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (22).© Darren Yamashita-Imagn Images After Saturday's practice, Clark shared her reaction to being the current fan-vote leader. "It is what it is," Clark said. "People get so hyped up over that, but that's not why you play the game. I think it's a fun way to get the fans involved and really passionate about All-Star, gets them excited, makes them feel involved. It's a fun aspect to have, but us as a player, that's not the reason you play, and it's really only 50% of the vote." Advertisement Clark also spoke about how many of her teammates are receiving support from fans as well. "But it is cool, and it's also cool for me to see how much love my teammates also get," Clark said. "I think we had four in the top ten, so whether who ends up being an All-Star or not, it's still cool to see the type of love that you get from the fans." As Clark pointed out, fan voting only makes up 50% of the total. Current players and a media panel each account for 25%. The results of the roster draft for the 2025 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game will be announced on WNBA Countdown on July 8 (7 p.m. ET).
